NXT: Graves bests Zayn in anticipated matchup

Sami Zayn and Corey Graves have built quite a rivalry over the past few weeks. With Graves laying Zayn out with concussion-like symptoms, Zayn is primed to get revenge. Tonight on WWE NXT, Zayn gets that shot to defeat Graves one-on-one. Plus, NXT Tag Team Champions The Ascension see action! All that and more on this week's edition of WWE NXT!

We are on tape from Orlando, Fla. Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton, and William Regal have the call for this week.

Renee Young joins the announce team for this match.

Match One: Emma vs. Sasha Banks (w/Charlotte)

Emma ducks an attack from Sasha Banks to start. Repeat of the same allows Emma to hit a drop toehold and lock in a side headlock. Shoulder bump and Emma running the ropes. Banks drops down and Emma drops right beside her. Banks confused and tries to attack, but Emma rolls her way into locking in a hammerlock. Elbow breaks the hold and Banks tries for a slam. Emma with a slam of her own for a nearfall.

Banks pulls Emma into the second turnbuckle and works her in the corner. Banks stomping Emma down and toying with her opponent. Yank of the hair pulls Emma to the mat for a nearfall and Banks continues to work Emma in the corner. Slam from Banks puts Emma down, but the leg drop follow misses. Emma cornered, but she sidesteps and locks in the Dil-Emma. Emmamite Sandwich connects as Banks is down in the corner for a nearfall.

Charlotte on the apron with the cutout of Summer Rae. Emma challenging her and Banks misses a chop block on Emma that sends her Beautiful Fierce Females teammate down. Emma Lock put in.

Winner by submission: Emma

Match Two: The Ascension vs. Jack Hurley & John Vandal

Viktor starting off with Jack Hurley and immediately doubles him over. Clubbing blow to the back puts Hurley down. Hurley thrown into his teammate, which signifies a tag to John Vandal. Viktor brings him in and puts him down with a shoulder tackle.

Konnor in and he scoop slams Vandal into the ropes three times. Hurley kicked away outside and a running splash in the corner connects on Vandal. Fall of Man puts Vandal down.

Winners by pinfall: The Ascension

Eden Stiles announces that Tyler Breeze is in the building.

Match Three: Xavier Woods vs. Brodus Clay

Xavier Woods opens up with a dropkick and works the striking. Brodus Clay put down by a side kick to the midsection and Woods stomping away. Kick caught by Clay and he connects on a T-bone suplex. Corner work from Clay working Woods and a seated splash connects for a nearfall.

Woods sent into the corner and Clay connects on a splash. Suplex into a pin gets Clay a nearfall. Nerve hold around the collarbone of Woods. Woods fighting to his feet and landing with body shots. Chop across the chest connect and forearms. Clay down on the mat and a shining wizard gets the briefest of nearfalls.

Body shots in the corner connect for Woods and punches to the head landing. Woods pushed off by Clay and he tweaks his ankle. Running headbutt leads to a powerbomb from Clay. Perched on the second rope, Clay with a splash on Woods.

Winner by pinfall: Brodus Clay

Post-match, Brodus Clay says the WWE took everything from him. Whether it be his music or his tag partners, Clay is the one who wants to do the taking and he plans to take the NXT Championship from Adrian Neville. Clay throws down the challenge.

Devin Taylor backstage with NXT Champion Adrian Neville. Neville wants to talk about what just happened. Clay might not be getting the recognition he deserves on Raw or SmackDown, but NXT is the future of wrestling. Neville says NXT features talent just as good and tells Clay to earn his title shot, where he will be waiting for him.

Match Four: Yoshi Tatsu vs. Tyler Breeze

Yoshi Tatsu locks in a side headlock and takes the back of Tyler Breeze. Breeze fights out with strikes and stomps Tatsu down in the corner. Breeze sent into the corner on a whip, but Breeze gets the boots up. Snapmare followed by a kick to the back of Tatsu for a nearfall.

Rear chinlock put in by Breeze. Tatsu out with chops, but Breeze hits a jumping forearm that drops Tatsu. Ground and pound comes from Breeze and he connects on the Beauty Shot.

Winner by pinfall: Tyler Breeze

The commentary team previews the main event between Corey Graves and Sami Zayn.

Devin Taylor with Sami Zayn backstage. Zayn claims to feel ready to go for tonight. Graves managed to sneak up on him, but Graves is the only one who has something to worry about tonight.

Corey Graves interviewed backstage. Graves tells the story of an underdog who traveled too far into the woods and got caught in a trap, surrounded by wolves. Graves warns Zayn that tonight will not be pretty.

Video package promotes NXT Women's Champion Paige.

Paige interviewed backstage about Charlotte being a threat for the NXT Women's Championship. Paige is upset about not being able to have her moment at NXT ArRival and she dares Charlotte to step out of her family legacy and challenge her.

Match Five: Corey Graves vs. Sami Zayn

Corey Graves relaxing in the corner as Sami Zayn stalks him. Graves finally moves out of the corner, only to duck in between the ropes to prevent an attack from Zayn. Same result when Zayn takes chase again. Lockup sees Graves disconnect to get between the ropes and Zayn pushes his head.

Graves moves outside as Zayn tries to lockup. Graves teases walking up the ramp and Zayn meets him. Right hand drops Graves and Graves has his head bounced off the apron. Back inside, Zayn with chops and corner work. Back drop sends Graves into the air and clothesline from Zayn puts Graves outside. Zayn with a flip dive over the top that puts Graves down on the ramp. Graves attempts to push Zayn into the ring post, but eats an elbow instead.

Back inside, Graves moves to the apron. Knee connects to send an aggressive Zayn away. Kick to the head from Graves gets a brief nearfall. Fist drops connecting for Graves as we break.

We return with Graves connecting on a suplex for a nearfall. Rear chinlock applied by Graves. Zayn fights up to his feet, but Graves drops back to continue to work the hold. Fish hooking forces him to break the hold and Graves with a fist drop for a nearfall.

Zayn cornered and fires off a forearm, but Graves drops him with punches and stomps him down. Zayn trying to fight back, but Graves landing punch after punch. Zayn's concussion coming into play and Graves with a nearfall before locking in another rear chinlock. Zayn breaks it with a jawbreaker, but he's still on wobbly legs. Big boot from Graves puts Zayn down and a knee drop gets another nearfall.

Brought back to his feet, Zayn fighting back. Graves striking back, but Zayn getting the better of him. Graves rams him back into the corner and Graves reapplies the headlock once again. Zayn fights out and hits a switch into a jackknife cover for a close call.

Clotheslines from Zayn dropping Graves, but Graves connects on a facebuster that nearly wins the match. Zayn kicking Graves away. Backbreaker across the knee from Graves gets him another close pinfall. The referee checking on Zayn again and Graves charges him. Exploder suplex into the corner from Zayn nearly steals the match.

Blue Thunder Bomb attempt is fought out of by Graves, but Zayn yanks him back into it and nearly gets the victory. Zayn with glassy eyes and he struggles to his feet. Helluva Kick attempt caught by Graves and Zayn turns it around to push Graves off the ropes. Clash of heads puts both men down and the referee begins a count. Back elbow and knee out of the corner by Zayn connect, but he can't stay up top. Zayn wobbled and Graves with a strike right behind the ear. Lucky 13 locked in and Zayn unconscious.

Winner by technical submission: Corey Graves

The show closes with medical staff and officials helping Sami Zayn as Corey Graves walks up the ramp.
