Impact: Magnus continues reign with help from Abyss

After Lockdown, it became apparent that TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus had an ace up his sleeve all along. Despite the dissolving Carter reigme, Magnus aligned himself with Abyss to ensure success. Tonight on TNA Impact, will Abyss be able to help his colleague defend his title against Samoa Joe yet again while in chains? Plus, TNA Tag Team Championships on the line! All that and more on this week's edition of TNA Impact!

Video package teases footage of Bully Ray at a destructive meeting at TNA Headquarters in Nashville.

Eric Young and Abyss brawling backstage with ODB cheering Young on. Abyss gets the upper hand and ODB comes from behind with a pipe. Abyss grabs the pipe and ODB runs from him. Abyss tries to chase and Young comes with a trashcan to hit Abyss. The two brawling all over backstage. Abyss attempts to get the chain involved and EY gets control of the chain.

The action moves down the ramp and into the ring. Young with a baseball slide kick and a suicide dive before bringing out a chair. Young connects with the ring post and Abyss tosses EY into the steel steps. Inside, both men fighting and Abyss brings the chair into play by hitting a facebuster right onto the seat. Abyss tries to bring the chain into play, but Young bites him and starts landing punch after punch. Young runs right into a Black Hole Slam. In between the ropes, Abyss uses a chain to choke Young into unconsciousness. ODB and referees come to help as the announcers question whether or not Young will be able to be chained to Abyss for tonight's main event.

Match One: Ethan Carter III vs. Bobby Lashley

We join the match in progress with Ethan Carter III landing strikes. Bobby Lashley leapfrogs EC3 to land a clothesline. Back elbow connects for EC3 in the corner, but Lashley with one of his own before lifting EC3 up for a delayed vertical suplex. Corner work rocking EC3 and he is thrown by Lashley.

EC3 moves outside as Lashley charges him. Lashley follows him around and EC3 lands a side kick to the midsection before slamming Lashley into the ring apron. Lashley regains control, but EC3 able to overwhelm him. Up top, EC3 is met by Lashley and gets press slammed to the mat. Carter begging Lashley and he hesitates enough to be thrown into the turnbuckles. EC3 now working Lashley over in the corner with punches and forearms. Front facelock in and Lashley fights out. EC3 clubbing and he runs into a spinebuster for his troubles.

Action moves outside again as Carter ducks away from a splash attempt. Clothesline from Lashley connects and Carter eats a corner clothesline. Stomps work EC3 down to the mat. Whip attempt almost sends Carter into the referee, but he stops himself. Referee still cornered as EC3 hits a reverse mule kick to the groin of Lashley.

EC3 moves outside and starts heading up the ramp. Willow runs down the ramp and sends EC3 into the steel steps multiple times.

Winner by disqualification: Ethan Carter III

EC3 holding his knee and he has his head bounced off the steel steps. The left leg of Carter put between a steel chair and Willow stomping it repeatedly. Elbow drop and Willow heads up the ladder he has set up. Carter crawls under and up the ramp to escape the attack.

Bully Ray shown waiting for TNA President Dixie Carter. Bully upset at having to wait, but he will play Carter's game all day if he has to.

TNA Director of Wrestling Operations MVP meets with Samoa Joe about tonight's title match. Joe is frustrated and blames MVP for letting this happen, but MVP assures Joe that Abyss will not be unchained tonight.

Angelina Love preparing backstage. She knows she caught Velvet Sky off guard last week with her proposal, but Sky will need to make a decision regarding her and the Beautiful People tonight.

In the locker room, Ethan Carter III confronts TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus. EC3 declares the business relationship between the Carters and Magnus over since Magnus didn't have his back tonight. Magnus believes he's gotten all he needs from "Aunt D" and confirms the end of the business partnership. The two men stare each other down.

Gunner makes his way to the ring. Gunner discusses his match with "Cowboy" James Storm at Lockdown and points out a special person in the crowd. Gunner points out his dad and talks about the influence his father has had on him and his career.

"Cowboy" James Storm makes his way out. Storm introduces himself to Gunner's father and promptly begins taking shots at Gunner's dad. Pushing Gunner's buttons, the two finally have it out. Both men trading shots all around the ring. Storm ends it with a Last Call Superkick and handcuffs Gunner to the ropes. Storm moves the barricade to allow Gunner's dad to help his son and starts walking up the ramp. As his back is turned, Storm cracks Gunner's father with a beer bottle to the back of the head as his son is forced to watch.

Gail Kim backstage discussing her match tonight with Lei'D Tapa. Gail Kim brought in Tapa to have her back and if she defeats her tonight, she's done with her and that means Tapa is done in TNA.

TNA Tag Team Champions The BroMans and DJ Zema Ion getting in the faces of TNA X Division Champion Sanada and Tigre Uno backstage after talking about clubbing the night before. The team wants to be done with the match as soon as possible to go out to the club. Tigre Uno and Sanada try to talk, but Zema Ion just makes false translations and the team instructs the newcomers to take the fall tonight.

Match Two: Gail Kim vs. Lei'D Tapa

Lei'D Tapa snatches a wristlock to yank Gail Kim down. Whip into the corner puts Gail Kim down and a repeat of the process allows Tapa to land a clothesline to the back of the head. Headbutts connecting, but Gail Kim coming back with leg kicks and clotheslines. Choke bomb from Tapa plants Gail Kim. TKO attempt from Tapa is countered into a dragon sleeper by Gail Kim. Tapa struggles, but shucks her off. Gail Kim working the leg and goes off the ropes, but is pressed into the air by Tapa for a nearfall.

Choke in for Tapa, but Gail Kim off the ropes with a dropkick to the leg. Gail Kim trying to keep Tapa grounded. Corner work and a shoulder ram in the corner are countered by Tapa, but Gail Kim scoots out with a kick to the back of the leg. Eat Defeat converts.

Winner by pinfall: Gail Kim

MVP trying to get Willow to volunteer himself to be chained to Abyss. MVP wants to know if Willow would like to get revenge on the final piece of the puzzle in Magnus. Willow doesn't want to play the games of politics and declares himself to be his own entity.

Angelina Love makes her way out and premises her proposal to Velvet Sky. Velvet Sky makes her way down and highlights the good and the bad of their time in The Beautiful People. Sky appears to be hesitant to join, but she ultimately accepts the offer and declares The Beautiful People reformed.

TNA Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne is invited to the ring to complete the trio. Rayne remembers the group as her having to pay dues and being treated like a third wheel. With all her dues paid, Rayne turns down the group.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus is asked if he's nervous about his title defense. Magnus believes Samoa Joe is looking for a business partner and that he already has one. Samoa Joe cuts in and tells Magnus that he will be tapping him out tonight.

Prior to the match, Robbie E demands Tigre Uno and TNA X Division Champion Sanada to lay down for them. Tigre Uno and Sanada brawl The BroMans out of the ring and The Wolves make their way out and brawl with them as well as we break.

Match Three for the TNA Tag Team Championships: The BroMans (c) (w/Zema Ion) vs. Sanada & Tigre Uno vs. The Wolves

We return with Robbie E being taken out by a double team from The Wolves. Robbie E gets the same treatment from Tigre Uno and Sanada. The Wolves and Sanada and Tigre Uno now squaring off. Sanada gets a double team attack and Davey Richards nearly with the pin.

Eiddie Edwards in and he and Richards take turns with chops and roundhouse kicks respectively. Both off the ropes and they are tripped by Tigre Uno. Sanada with a running dropkick and Tigre Uno with a corkscrew splash. Sanada tagged by Robbie E, who gets hip tossed.

Davey Richards in and The Wolves continue their vaunted double team attack. Tigre Uno in and Robbie E using an attack from Jessie Godderz to take out Uno. Godderz now in and they press Uno into the air and down to the mat. Godderz with the gorilla press and walking around with Uno in the air. Robbie E with a flying attack from the top to get a nearfall.

Tigre Uno turns the tide with a bulldog and brings in Sanada. Godderz returns and Sanada connecting with back elbows and a hurricanrana. Up top, Sanada spots DJ Z taking a picture with the TNA X Division Championship and takes him out. Tigre Uno in and he takes out both Godderz and Richards. Edwards catches a hurricanrana and puts him up in powerbomb position. Richards with a backstabber from there that almost gets the win.

Richards and Uno are the only ones in, but The BroMans meet them as they stand up top and shove them down. Fake tags and the double team Bro Down converts.

Winners by pinfall and still TNA Tag Team Champions: The BroMans

Velvet Sky and Angelina Love discussing things in the locker room. Love upset about Rayne's criticisms, saying there was a lot of truth behind them. Sky tells her to go try and talk things out.

Video package hypes "The King of the Night" Kenny King.

Angelina Love confronts Madison Rayne. Love said she made a lot of mistakes in her past, despite Rayne having said all she needed to out there. Love believes people need to look out for each other in this business and Rayne agrees. Love wants the group to be equals and Rayne promises to think about it. They hug and Love grabs a handful of hair. Tossing her into the lockers and landing a knee, Love says only her and Sky are the Beautiful People.

MVP meets Samoa Joe backstage. MVP wants to lead by example and make Joe only focus on one thing by deciding to chain himself to Abyss tonight for the main event.

Video package shows Knux going back to visit his family and hometown.

Video footage from the meeting between Bully Ray and TNA President Dixie Carter. Bully says there is no one in the business of professional wrestling that likes Carter as she sits turned around in her chair. Bully Ray doesn't like Carter and she doesn't like him because she can't control him. Bully describes how Carter tried to pay him to ensure Team Dixie won at Lockdown and how that turned everything around for him. Bully tells Dixie to face him and spins the chair to reveal no one there.

Bobby Roode comes from behind and bounces Bully off each wall. Roode slamming Bully's head off the desk and cracking his back with a framed poster. Roode tells Bully he screwed with the wrong person.

Magnus asks if Abyss is ready for tonight. Abyss has something planned for Joe and MVP tonight as he drops a handful of thumbtacks on the floor.

Match Four for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship: Magnus (c) (w/Abyss) vs. Samoa Joe (w/MVP)

Magnus attacks Samoa Joe from behind as he watches Abyss and MVP chain up. Magnus working Joe from corner to corner before Joe lands a few jabs. Snapmare followed up by some strikes and a missed knee drop. Abyss and MVP playing a bit of tug of war as Magnus regroups outside.

Joe dragged outside by Magnus and he rams Joe into the apron. Back inside, Magnus landing a jab an an uppercut. Work in the corner from Magnus rocking Joe, but Joe comes back with jabs. Rake of the eyes from Magnus stops the combo and Magnus comes back with a chop. Ducking the shots of Joe, Magnus runs into a back elbow. Jabs in the corner from Joe lead to a back splash and enzuigiri in the opposite corner as we break.

We return with Joe and Magnus exchanging offense in the corner. Magnus up top, but he comes down on an inverted atomic drop. Joe comes off the ropes and runs into a knee lift to the midsection. Backdrop suplex connects for Magnus and Joe continues to hold the injured midsection. Punt to the ribs connects for Magnus and a clothesline lands for a nearfall.

Knee in the back and a chinlock in for Magnus. Joe fighting up with body shots, but Magnus again landing with a flying knee. Gutwrench in for Magnus, but Joe elbows out of the submission. Big boot and a back splash convert for Joe, but he is hurting. Powerslam on a charging Magnus lands and Joe again holding the abdomen. Joe cornered, but Magnus runs into an STJoe. Coquina Clutch locked in for Joe. Magnus with a stunner to get out and the referee is down.

Outside, Abyss floors MVP with a right hand and drags him. Abyss with a bagful of thumbtacks and the two playing tug of war. MVP gets the tacks and yanks Abyss into the steel steps. Handcuffs unlocked for MVP and he tosses the tacks up the ramp. Abyss with chair shots to the back from behind. Joe tries a dive on Abyss, but he has a chair thrown in his face. Magnus up top and lands the elbow drop.

Winner by pinfall and still TNA World Heavyweight Champion: Magnus

The show closes with TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus and Abyss heading up the ramp and Samoa Joe and MVP coming to after being knocked out.
