NXT: Sheamus returns to battle English

The hard-hitting Sheamus has been a fixture on the main roster for years in the WWE. However, having coming up through the WWE developmental system. Sheamus is no stranger to the cutthroat nature of the younger talent. Tonight on WWE NXT, Sheamus returns to Florida and the WWE developmental territory to take on "The Artiste" Aiden English. Will English stage a grand peformance to upset the powerful Irish bruiser? Plus, Mojo Rawley hypes up in the ring! All that and more on this week's edition of WWE NXT!

We are on tape from Orlando, Fla. Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton, and William Regal have the call for this week.

Match One: Mojo Rawley vs. Bull Dempsey

NFL tight end for the New England Patriots Rob Gronkowski is shown in the crowd supporting his friend, Mojo Rawley.

Bull Dempsey opens up with a kick to the stomach. Clubbing blows to the back of Mojo Rawley connecting. Corner work is compounded by a shoulder ram from Dempsey. Knee drop and elbow drop get a quick pin for Dempsey.

Rear chinlock in for Dempsey and he clubs the chest of Rawley. Rawley fights up, but he is brought down with strikes and stuck in the hold again. Backdrop suplex connects for Rawley to muscle his way out. Three-point stance leads to a tackle in the corner. Two splashes and a knockdown in the center of the ring lead to a Hyper Drive.

Winner by pinfall: Mojo Rawley

Devin Taylor backstage with CJ Parker. Taylor asks how he feels since losing to Rawley at NXT ArRival. Parker takes umbrage with how Rawley gets hyped and stays hyped, discussing Rawley's love of unhealthy fast foods. Parker promises to "humanely dispose" of Rawley next week while dropping some paper in a recycle bin.

Prior to his match with Tyler Breeze, Sami Zayn is attacked from behind by Corey Graves. Graves runs the head of Zayn into the steel ring post. Officials carry Zayn off as he seems to experience concussion symptoms.

Sheamus being interviewed by Devin Taylor. Sheamus describes his return to NXT as "magic" before he is cut off by Aiden English. English introduces himself as the man who plans to use the WWE as a springboard to Broadway. Sheamus takes a jab at English before saying he will go discuss some things with NXT General Manager John Bradshaw Layfield to get them a match tonight.

Match Two: Adam Rose vs. Camacho

Lockup sees Camacho lock in the arm wrench and club Adam Rose down. Rose rolling around the ring like a ball to counter the submission. Rose skips around the ring and lockup again sees Camacho work the same offense. Between the ropes, Rose taunting and bicycling. Camacho frustrated and walks into a forearm. Side headlock in for Rose, but he is soon backdrop suplexed. Big corner work from Camacho followed by a snapmare and more chops and elbows for a nearfall.

Sleeper locked in for Camacho and he drives the knees into the back before landing a leg drop that nearly gets the win. Camacho with more clubbing blows and a corner clothesline. Mockery of Rose's signature prance infuriates him and he gets a clothesline with some ground and pound striking. Big jabs and a right stagger Camaco in the corner. Running elbow and a bronco buster connect. Spinebuster converts and a lariat drops Camacho.

Winner by pinfall: Adam Rose

Match Three: Sasha Banks (w/Charlotte) vs. Bayley (w/Natalya)

Lockup sees Sasha Banks work Bayley into the corner. Bayley turns it around after ducking a Banks strike, but Banks gets between the ropes. Full nelson in for Bayley after Banks charges and she connects on a shoulder block off a snapmare. Full nelson reapplied and Banks with the rope break.

Bayley getting into the head of Banks by wearing her glasses and taunting "The Boss" with some poses. Banks flapjacked into the corner, but Bayley cannot connect on the splash. Banks now clubbing the back and lands a dropkick to the back. Headband on, Banks with a little gamesmanship of her own. Hip toss from Banks gets a nearfall and she follows up by dropping all of weight on Bayley for another pin.

Snapmare into the sleeper for Banks now. Corner work being fought off by Bayley, but Banks tosses her outside. There, Charlotte and Natalya meet up to a stalemate that prevents any interference. Charlotte with a shot to the ribs of Natalya as soon as Bayley returns to the ring. Banks with a roll up that is rolled through by Bayley.

Winner by pinfall: Bayley

Prior to their match, Aiden English sings his way to the ring. Sheamus makes his way out and he wants to do a little singing of his own. Sheamus begins, but has the microphone snatched away from him by English. Sheamus tries once again and is knocked down to start the match.

Match Four: Aiden English vs. Sheamus

Aiden English moves outside, where Sheamus begins to take chase. Sheamus falls for the cat and mouse game and English landing strikes and stomps as Sheamus reenters. Tide soon turns and Sheamus now landing clubbing shots and getting some corner work in. English attempts to escape, but Sheamus hangs him over the ropes for his clubbing blows to the chest. Bringing English back inside, Brogue Kick attempt misses and English finally escapes outside as we break.

We return with English in control of Sheamus with strikes. Corner work sees English working Sheamus with punches and knees. Back elbow stifles the offense of English and he is sent outside by Sheamus. Slamming of the head on the barricade connects for Sheamus before he brings the action back inside. English rolls outside just as soon he is put in. Sheamus roughing English up a little more and holds a side headlock as he walks up the stairs. English shoves him into the post and yanks his legs out from under him. Clothesline outside connects and English gets a nearfall inside.

Clubbing blows and a knee drop for a nearfall allow English to lock in the sleeper. Sheamus fights to his feet, but English is able to strike him back down again. Corner work from English is countered by body shots from Sheamus. Knee lift to the midsection from English thwarts the comeback and gets English a nearfall.

Sheamus fights English away and skins the cat to get up top, but English pops up to land a neckbreaker that nearly gets the win. Sleeper locked in for English and Sheamus sinking to the mat. Nearly out, Sheamus fighting back up. Arm drag sees Sheamus eat a back elbow, but he connects with axhandle blows and a knee. Tilt-a-whirl slam and Sheamus looking for the Brogue Kick. Brogue Kick connects.

Winner by pinfall: Sheamus

The show closes with Sheamus celebrating with the NXT crowd.
