Impact: Samoa Joe and Magnus face off before Lockdown

There will be no running and no hiding for any combatants on Sunday at TNA Lockdown. However, nothing brings more excitement or higher stakes than a world title and TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus will face a daunting challenge for it against Samoa Joe. Tonight on TNA Impact, the two competitors face-off one last time before they are locked up on Sunday. Plus, what will Team Dixie and Team MVP walk into Lockdown like? All that and more on this week's edition of TNA Impact!

We are on tape from London, England. Mike Tenay and Taz have the call for this week.
Team Dixie of Bobby Roode and TNA Tag Team Champions The BroMans (who regained their titles from The Wolves at a Wrestle-1 show in Japan) make their way out with Zema Ion. Roode proclaims that he will own part of the company come Sunday and things in TNA will be ran the Roode way.
TNA X Division Champion and fourth member of Team Dixie Austin Aries makes his way out. Aries says his decision last week was a calculated one because he wants a piece of the pie that Roode will have his hands on. Roode tells Aries that the two can talk business after the match, but Aries wants to talk it out now. Aries claims to never want to work under Roode. The BroMans also want their take of the pie as well. Roode says he is the captain and he calls the shots. Roode says winning is the priority and Aries tells Roode that he's a gamechanger and he swayed all the momentum last week by joining Team Dixie.
MVP and The Wolves hit the ring. MVP claims to have made a mistake in trusting Aries, but he dug deep and found another member of Team MVP at Lockdown. TNA President Dixie Carter comes out. Carter says MVP's decision won't matter because she has been securing victory for her team the past week in New York City. Carter promises that nothing will come between her and the company. MVP asks if Carter is curious at all and begins listing credentials before announcing Jeff Hardy as the new member of his team. Carter claims to have suspended the contract and MVP and Carter trade some insults.
Roode steps between the two and, after throwing some heavy names MVP's way, tells MVP that it won't matter because he is the captain that will lead the team to victory. This leads to a brawl between the two teams and a six-man tag that will determine the man advantage at Lockdown will get underway after the break.
Elimination Match One: Robbie E, Austin Aries, & Bobby Roode vs. The Wolves & MVP
We join the match with Bobby Roode tagging in on Eddie Edwards from Robbie E. Suplex gets Roode a nearfall and Austin Aries brought in with an elbow smash to the head for a nearfall of his own. Aries works a submission and brings Robbie E in. Back elbow from Robbie E gets a nearfall.
Robbie E taunting Edwards, but he lands a chop and flips out of a side suplex to make the tag to MVP. MVP landing jabs and knocks Robbie E down with a right hand. Counter on a bodydrop attempt doesn't help Robbie E in the long run, as he is pressed into the air and eats a Yakuza Kick from MVP. Robbie E is eliminated from the match.
Bobby Roode attacks MVP from behind and strikes away. Roode sent off the ropes and he eats a back elbow. Edwards in and Davey Richards comes in as well to land a double team attack that gets a nearfall on Roode. Roode fighting back with a knee to the stomach and an elbow to the back. Aries in and he takes out the men on the apron as himself and Roode look for a double team. Edwards able to thwart the attack and hits Roode with an enzuigiri as he sits up top. Backpack jawbreaker is countered as Aries runs in with a dropkick. Brainbuster lands and Eddie Edwards is eliminated from the match.
Davey Richards in now and trading forearms with Aries. Spinning back kick gets him control and Richards lands the springboard heel kick. Aries comes right back with a discus forearm before both men tag out. Roode and MVP shoving back aod forth and exchanging shots. Clotheslines exchanged to no avail before MVP gets a combo compounded by a European Uppercut for a nearfall that is broken by Aries. MVP chases after Aries and Roode with a clothesline from behind. Rollup and feet on the top rope being held by Aries eliminate MVP from the match.
Roode left with Richards. Roode opening up with a knee and a clubbing blow to the back. Corner work from Roode stuffing Richards in the corner. Aries returns with a kick to the ribs. Richards sent into the corner and Aries with an elbow and bulldog combination to get a nearfall.
Roode once again in and a backbreaker across the knee gets a pin. Roode looks for a tag, but instead sends Richards outside and ties up the referee. Aries up top and he comes down with a double sledgehammer smash. Back inside, Roode gets a brief nearfall before tagging Aries in. Roode slingshots Richards into an Aries forearm. Aries with a corkscrew splash as Richards is draped across the knees for a nearfall.
Another tag exchanged and Roode in. Double team backdrop is countered by Richards, who punts Roode and sends Aries into Roode. Dropkick on Roode takes both men down. Running knee to the chest of Roode and Richards up top for the stomp. Roode Bomb attempt misses as Roode attempts to catch Richards off the missed flying attack. Rollup attempt from Richards fails, but he transitions it into a single-leg crab. Aries in with a chair and Aries is now eliminated from the match after beating Richards up with the chair.
Roode now stalking Richards. Eddie Edwards and the referees come back to check on Richards. MVP soon joins them and Roode makes his way up the ramp. Decisions to be made as we break.
Davey Richards back in the locker room being worked on. Eddie Edwards pressuring the doctor for a word when MVP and referee Earl Hebner make their way in. Hebner declares that they have one hour to return to the ring and restart the match, given the implications of the match.
Video package recaps the events that lead to the Lockdown match between Samuel Shaw and Mr. Anderson.
Samuel Shaw backstage. Shaw says Christy Hemme created something beautiful when she slapped him last week and promises to create something even more beautiful when we return.
Samuel Shaw makes his way to the ring with coffee in hand. Mr. Anderson soon follows up and announces himself as the ring announcer of this match due to Shaw's participation. Mr. Anderson introduces Shaw as "Creepy Bastard" and introduces Eric Young as Shaw's opponent.
Match Two: Samuel Shaw vs. Eric Young
Samuel Shaw talking to Mr. Anderson outside to start and Eric Young uses this to score a rollup for a nearfall. Jawbreaker from Young connects and he mounts Shaw in the corner to land ten punches to the head. Shaw smiles at Young and strikes the throat of Young before working him in the corner. Shaw working chokes and strikes from corner to corner.
Anderson talking some trash outside and Young using this to strike Shaw from behind. Young sent into the corner, but he flips to the outside and uses a shoulder ram to the stomach. Flying forearm from Young is followed up by a belly-to-belly that earns Young a nearfall.
Action spills outside and Shaw grabs the cup of hot coffee. The drink is splashed into the face of Young and he is thrown into Mr. Anderson outside.
Winner by disqualification: Eric Young
Shaw takes out Mr. Anderson with the standing arm triangle choke after the match. Shaw tells Anderson he is going to go back and claim what is rightfully is. Christy Hemme is shown frightened backstage.
Davey Richards still having his shoulder worked on backstage. MVP tells him to hold tight as the trainer continues to work on the shoulder.
MVP goes into the locker room of Austin Aries. MVP has to be held back by agents and looks to be ready to fight. MVP claims to know what time it is now and tells Aries that he has no character as he storms off.
Recap of the feud between Ethan Carter III and Kurt Angle.
TNA President Dixie Carter discussing why she had to miss the Wembley Arena show last week before her nephew steps in. Ethan Carter III asks if they are okay and if he needs to do anything for her. Dixie tells EC3 to go beat Angle and they discuss the match before EC3 asks about the problems between Dixie and MVP. Dixie claims she won't relinquish control and the camera cuts away as they discuss that situation.
Samuel Shaw shown looking around for Christy Hemme backstage.
Shaw continuing to look backstage and he enters the female locker room. Shaw can't find her there, but Velvet Sky is there. Sky is shocked and tells him to leave, but Shaw just asks where Hemme is. Sky tells Shaw she is in the makeup room before he shuffles off.
Ethan Carter III makes his way to the ring in a fury. EC3 claims Kurt Angle sucker punched him last week and warns him that he should never do that to a Carter. EC3 says the old saying goes that "you should never meet your heroes because they will sucker punch you in the face." EC3 knows Angle is excited to face him in a cage, but he fears the submissions of Carter. EC3 says he has a leglock and lists all the things he can break and tear in the leg of Angle. EC3 proclaims himself as the "new Icon" of wrestling after beating Sting and declares that he will become the "new face of American wrestling" Sunday, thus naming himself "the American Icon."
Kurt Angle makes his way out and declares EC3 an American something else. Angle hyped up and he hits the ring, where Carter scrambles out and heads backstage. Angle limps back up the ramp, where he is suddenly met by EC3. Carter stomping the injured left knee of Angle. Chop block from behind and Angle back inside. Chop block to the front of the knee and Carter with elbow drops. Spinning heel hook torquing the leg of Angle. Angle has his leg popped before referees can make their way down to separate the two.
MVP talking to The Wolves in the training room. MVP says they are two of the toughest wrestlers he has ever known. The pep talk reminds Davey Richards of the advice MVP gave him in Japan and they appear to be ready to go later.
The teams of Lei'D Tapa, Alpha Female, Gail Kim, and Chris Sabin and TNA Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne, ODB, and Velvet Sky are shown making their way to the ring.
Video package shows Kenny King spending time in Las Vegas as "the King of the Night."
Match Three: Alpha Female, Lei'D Tapa, & Gail Kim (w/Chris Sabin) vs. Madison Rayne, Velvet Sky, & ODB
Madison Rayne immediately goes after Gail Kim with strikes. Corner work leads to a Northern Lights Suplex from Rayne. Lei'D Tapa grabs the hair of Rayne and Gail Kim recovers to hit a dropkick. Rayne put into the corner, but Gail Kim misses the splash and ODB brought in. Splash in the corner lands for ODB and she follows up with a bronco buster for a nearfall.
Lei'D Tapa and Alpha Female received forearm shots once they attempt to enter the ring from ODB, allowing Gail Kim to capitalize with a clothesline. Tapa in with a stomp and she puts ODB on her shoulder to land a backbreaker. ODB cornered and Tapa lands a huge clothesline. Submission working the shoulders of ODB, but ODB fighting back with body shots. Duck under and both ladies are able to make the tag out.
Velvet Sky in with clothesline attempts on Alpha Female. Back elbow still doesn't affect Alpha Female, but a kick to the head finally gets her rocked for a neckbreaker that earns a nearfall. All ladies in from each team and the action spills outside. Chris Sabin enters the ring with a chain and walks Velvet Sky down, calling her a "skank" repeatedly. Sky with a slap and Sabin charges, but he has the rope pulled down on him. Alpha Female from behind with a full nelson, but Sky drops down and lands a kick. In Yo' Face connects.
Winners by pinfall: Madison Rayne, Velvet Sky, & ODB

Samuel Shaw asks an assistance where the makeup room is and he gets his answer as he makes his way toward it.
Video package again shows us the world of Willow.
Samuel Shaw shown creeping in the makeup room. He enters and calls for Christy Hemme, but Mr. Anderson is the person wearing the red wig. The two brawl and Anderson adorns Shaw with lipstick after getting the upper hand. Shaw is left knocked out with the wig and lipstick all over his face. Anderson gives him warning, but Shaw laughs as Anderson walks off and tells Anderson and Hemme that he will see them Sunday.
Video package shows the feud between "Cowboy" James Storm and Gunner.
Gunner heads to the ring. Gunner says things have changed for him in the past few weeks and discusses his beliefs in life. Gunner believes Feast or Fired brought about changes in James Storm and that's what caused him to stab him in the back. Storm ran from him last week, but in a cage on Sunday, Gunner is prepared to harness the bad memories to use to his advantage.
James Storm tells Gunner that he takes his military creeds too seriously and that he will be telling stories about how Storm kept him from winning a world title. Storm also knows Gunner will tells stories about their street fight, but he tells Gunner to prepare for a fight. Gunner is prepared and he wants to prove to everyone in the back and all around him that he is the toughest man here. Gunner offers up a last man standing match. Storm becomes insulted at Gunner trying to test his manhood. Storm claims to be the man in this company with all his history and tells Gunner to pray at Lockdown because it will be Storm who cuts him down.
Storm with a knee to the groin and he hovers over Gunner as he climbs up to his knees. Last Call Superkick leaves Gunner out cold in the middle of the ring as Storm walks off.
Bobby Roode with referee Brian Hebner. Roode wants an update on the condition of Davey Richards and forces Hebner to come out to the ring with him as we see Richards getting taped up by MVP.
Bobby Roode in the ring. Roode notes Davey Richards has had an hour and tells Brian Hebner to make the count to give Team Dixie the advantage walking into Lockdown.
Match One continuation: Bobby Roode vs. Davey Richards
Bobby Roode stomping down on the shoulder after getting Davey Richards down in the corner. The left arm is wrapped around the ring post and Roode continues to work the left arm in an arm wrench. Richards throwing shots, but he is put down and Roode lands a knee drop on the shoulder. Armbreaker across the top rope and Roode asking Richards to quit. Stomp on the shoulder leaves Richards screaming in pain. Knee drop from Roode misses this time and Richards with a mule kick in the corner.
Action moving to the apron as Richards tries to head up top. The shoulder prevents Richards from making the climb, but he is able to land a dragon screw from the apron. Looping right hands land for Richards inside and he connects on the enzuigiri. Roode sent outside as the rope is pulled down on him and Richards gearing up. Suicide dive connects to the outside and Roode is down.
Back inside, Richards getting up top and he connects on the missile dropkick that nearly gets him the win. Richards with a series of roundhouse kicks to the chest, but Roode ducks the penultimate kick and hoists Richards up for the Roode Bomb. Richards wiggles his way out and rolls Roode up, only milliseconds away from getting the victory. Richards holds the leg and locks in the single-leg crab on the right leg. Roode turns back to his back and kicks at the left shoulder. Richards charges the cornered Roode and Richards meets the ring post. Roode Bomb converts and a Crossface is locked in.
Winner by submission: Bobby Roode
MVP and Eddie Edwards come to make the save as Roode holds on to the submission for too long.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus meets with Dixie Carter. Carter is focused on Team Dixie and Magnus wants to know what could be more important than him retaining his belt. Dixie asks if he is serious and Magnus wants to know what the strategy is. Dixie gives Magnus the strategy to go back up his mouth and beat Samoa Joe on Sunday.
Samoa Joe makes his way out for the final face-off between himself and TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus before Lockdown. Joe challenges Magnus to gather up any courage left and come face him in front of his countrymen.
Magnus strolls to the ring. Magnus tells Joe that he should know better than to question his fortitude because Joe knows him. Magnus states that the two have fought side-by-side and won titles in both Japan and TNA together. Then, Joe turned his back on him. Joe wanted to team back up with him when they were in the Main Event Mafia and it only seemed fitting that Magnus end up in the main event with a belt himself. Magnus declares that he has a healthy fear of Joe and all he has done, but his rage has cost him the top spot time and time again. Magnus plans to exploit that weakness that Joe's anger causes to retain his belt on Sunday.
Joe says Magnus is correct about his rage problem and that he often wants more than to just beat his opponent. The rules of pro wrestling often aren't best for Joe's brand of violence, but at Lockdown, it will be Joe's rules of either a knockout or a submission. Joe warns Magnus that he won't walk out as TNA World Heavyweight Champion or walk out at all.
A brawl ensues as Magnus headbutts Joe and works him into the corner. Joe turns it around on Magnus with jabs. Strike from Magnus misses and Joe ducks under. Coquina Clutch is locked in and the show closes with Magnus tapping to the hold.
