Impact: MVP and Dixie Carter discuss business

MVP has made a return to the American wrestling scene and he did it in a big way, revealing himself as the mystery investor for TNA. Much to the disdain of TNA President Dixie Carter, MVP signed The Wolves a few weeks back without a tryout. Tonight on TNA Impact, Carter and MVP are set to meet to discuss business. Could other changes be on the way? Plus, TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus in action! All that and more on this week's edition of TNA Impact!

We are on tape from Glasgow, Scotland. Mike Tenay and Jeremy Borash have the call for this week.

TNA investor MVP and The Wolves are shown entering the building.

Eric Young and Abyss are shown brawling backstage prior to their Monster's Ball match tonight. Both men gaining the upper hand as the momentum shifts back and forth. The men out on the ramp now.

Monster's Ball Match One: Abyss vs. Eric Young

The two continue to brawl down the ramp as the bell rings. Abyss in control with punches, but Eric Young coming back with a pipe to the body of Abyss. Young cracking it across the back and stomach of Abyss. Back bodydrop from Abyss thuds Young on the mat. Table brought out by Abyss and he looks for the Chokeslam. Elbows from Young get him out, but he is soon sent inside.

Abyss brings in a trash can full of weaponry as he enters the ring. Young with a running dropkick to send Abyss down to the floor. Suicide dive follows and Young looking to unmask Abyss. Abyss clubs Young down and heads inside. Chair in hand, Abyss wedges it in the corner. Up top, Young comes down into a Chokeslam attempt, but elbows out. Clothesline takes Young out.

Abyss moves outside yet again to grab a chair. The chair on top of Young and Abyss running the ropes. Chair wedges the nether regions of Abyss and Young working Abyss over in the corner. Young sent into the corner and he flips to the apron, landing more strikes. Right hand as Young climbs up top leads to a missile dropkick. Abyss down for a Young nearfall.

Looping right hands from Young. Sent off into the corner, Young floats over. Abyss has it scouted and rams him into the wedged chair. Chokeslam converts in the center of the ring for a nearfall and Abyss now outside again. The bag of thumbtacks comes into play as they are sprinkled on the mat. Young sat up top and Abyss follows. Body shots from Young convert and a sunset flip into a powerbomb from Young. Abyss shivering in pain from the tacks as Young gets a nearfall.

Young takes a handful of tacks and puts them in his mouth before heading up to. Abyss up now and he cracks Young with a powerful right hand that topples him into the table outside. Dragged inside, Young gets a rope break on the pin. Abyss brings out Janice from under the ring. Janice poised to be used, but Young yanks the wig off Abyss. Black Hole Slam connects.

Winner by pinfall: Abyss

Post-match, Abyss looks confused as he gathers a shard of broken mirror and the wig. Abyss appears to be stunned as he drops the mirror.

Bobby Roode drops off the contract for a match between himself and TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus at Lockdown for TNA President Dixie Carter. Carter frustrated at being told what to do by talent and tells Roode she can't do it because she's not in control like she has been. Roode demands the contract to be signed and Carter asks how Roode can prove himself. Samoa Joe is the contender for the belt and she wants to book Joe and Roode tonight for the shot at Lockdown. Roode not happy, but he plans to not let Carter set him up and feed him to the sharks.

Recap of the Monster's Ball match.

TNA investor MVP heads to the ring. MVP introduces himself and updates the audience that he has been living life on his own terms. However, this has gotten him into trouble and that people need to suffer the consequences. MVP believes the same applies to TNA and that the people are tired of the ego of owners. MVP declares his love of professional wrestling and that he doesn't want to stand by while the business sinks. MVP wants to bring change as an investor and promises to end the mismanagement of the company.

TNA Chief of Staff Rockstar Spud interrupts. MVP chides him a bit, but then promises to be fair. Rockstar Spud wants to address being fair and asks MVP to meet with Dixie Carter in her dressing room so they can talk business. MVP alerts Spud that he hasn't forgotten how to fight and declares that he has made a non-title match tonight between TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus and Kurt Angle tonight.

Bully Ray reciting biblical verses over a coffin backstage. Bully tells Mr. Anderson that he took everything away from him and he declares that the next person he sees will be stuffed in the coffin and suffer for the sins of Anderson.

Chris Sabin backstage. Sabin says Velvet Sky broke his heart last week, but he won't take that sitting down. Sabin in a special room and he invites the cameras to make sure to catch a special moment between himself and Sky.

Curry Man makes his way out and he is soon followed by Bully Ray. Bully Ray warns Curry Man that he is in the wrong place at the wrong time. Bully Ray standing in the corner. Curry Man charges him and runs into a big boot. Piledriver hoisting Curry Man and Bully screams out for Anderson. Curry Man sat in the casket and Bully Ray tells Anderson that he will end his career.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus stressing about his matchup with Kurt Angle. Dixie Carter tells him to go prepare and go out there to wrestle. Rockstar Spud immediately paying Carter compliments and Ethan Carter III makes his way in. Ethan wants something from Dixie, but Dixie doesn't have any time. Ethan upset that Dixie doesn't have time, but she promises that they will catch up in a week.

TNA X Division Champion Austin Aries makes his way out. Aries soaks in the adoration from the crowd and introduces himself as the TNA X Division Championship. Aries has held every major title and created Option C to grab the penultimate belt. Aries makes his intent clear to get that belt once again.

TNA Tag Team Champions The BroMans make their way out and Aries goading them on. Zema Ion from behind with the briefcase and he lays Aries out before declaring this his cash-in.

Match Two for the TNA X Division Championship: Austin Aries (c) vs. Zema Ion

Zema Ion only gets a nearfall after the briefcase attack. Ion looking for pin after pin and nothing going through. Aries tossed outside and Ion connects with a baseball slide kick outside. Aries with some fight, but Ion runs him into the barricade. Tornado DDT from Ion plants Aries for a series of nearfalls.

Ion up top and he misses a twisting corkscrew. Discus forearm from Aries cracks Ion and he hits a kneebreaker into a backdrop suplex. Running corner dropkick connects and Aries hits the Brainbuster in the center of the ring.

Winner by pinfall and still TNA X Division Champion: Austin Aries

Video package from last week shows the disturbing relationship twist with a shrine between Samuel Shaw and Christy Hemme.

Shaw makes his way up to Hemme backstage. Hemme confronts him about the mannequin shrine and Shaw apologizes for going overboard with his collection of things he finds beautiful. Hemme wants to keep the relationship professional between the two and Shaw looks menacing as he begrudgingly accepts.

Bobby Roode frustrated about having to do favors for Dixie Carter for nothing. Magnus makes his way up and tells Roode his job is to do what Carter says. Roode informs Magnus that he has saved him time after time. Magnus warns Roode to focus on Samoa Joe tonight. The two trade petty barbs and Roode walks away after wishing Magnus luck against Kurt Angle.

Dixie Carter and Rockstar Spud meet up with MVP backstage. Carter informs MVP she is happy to meet him. Carter understands the lack of revealing his identity and begins to inform MVP on her building TNA into an international success. Carter believes the entire roster loves working for her and that's why the company has become a success. MVP ponders about the thoughts of men like AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy, but Carter writes them off as disgruntled. Carter promises MVP he will learn so much about business from her. MVP plans to include the fans later tonight to discuss the future of TNA, despite the reluctance of Carter.

Match Three: Kurt Angle vs. Magnus

Lockup and Magnus works the wristlock. Kurt Angle transitions into an arm wrench. Magnus with a hammerlock into a side headlock. Shoulder bump puts Angle down, but Magnus runs the ropes into a belly-to-belly suplex. Angle working Magnus from corner to corner and Magnus rakes the eye. Chops from Magnus and he attempts a running clothesline, but Angle ducks under for three German Suplexes. Angle Slam attempt is countered by a rake of the eyes and Magnus with a side slam for a nearfall.

Up top, Magnus stalls for too long and Angle up there to land the belly-to-belly. Ankle Lock in and Magnus trapped in the middle of the ring. Ethan Carter III makes his way into the ring and hits a chop block from behind.

Winner by disqualification: Kurt Angle

Post-match, Angle going after EC3. Punch after punch landing for Angle as he works EC3 all along ringside. Fingers of EC3 jammed into the eye sockets of Angle and Carter now cracking the injured left knee with a chair. Spinning toehold back inside from EC3. The referee works hard to get EC3 off the leg of Angle. EC3 triumphant and he sits ringside to watch Angle carried off on a stretcher.

Samoa Joe checking on Angle backstage. Samoa Joe frustrated with Dixie Carter and she is warned that she is starting a war with Joe that she cannot win. Joe fired up as he promises to make them pay.

Eric Young backstage. Young did the Monster's Ball to prove his point and he believes it finally got across. However, Young doesn't know what the future holds for Park.

Video package recaps the relationship of Velvet Sky and Chris Sabin.

Chris Sabin informs the cameras that Velvet Sky and he had their first kiss in this room only a few years ago. Sabin promising something special as he pulls out a ring case. Sky makes her way into the room and she is skeptical of all the cameras as we break.

Sky remarks that this is awkward. Sabin wants Sky to listen and he recalls how heartbroken he was last week when Sky broke up with him last week. Sabin believes this opened his eyes and he has something to ask Sky. Sabin asks if Sky will and presents her the ring case. The case is empty and Sabin asks if Sky will get out of his life. Sabin is tired of hearing her name and he wants to wrestle her next week to prove who the real superstar in the relationship is. Sky distraught as Sabin walks off.

Number One Contender Match Four: Bobby Roode vs. Samoa Joe

Lockup and both men exchanging chain grappling. Bobby Roode throws a forearm, but Samoa Joe ducks it and drops Roode with a jab. Reset in the offense and Joe is able to drop Roode with kicks. Snapmare and a chop to the back leads to a kick to the chest from Joe. Knee drop connects for Joe and he stifles a Roode comeback to land a splash in the corner. Enzuigiri follow leaves Roode limp in the corner. Boot of Joe raking the face of Roode, but Roode explodes up to hit a back elbow. Joe on the apron and both exchanging suplex attempts. Roode with a dropkick that sends Joe to the floor.

Joe sent back inside and Roode works the front facelock. Swinging neckbreaker gets a brief nearfall for Roode. Joe brought to his feet and he and Roode exchange chops. Roode able to regain control to head up top and he connects on a rolling neckbreaker for a nearfall.

Sleeper hold in under the chin of Joe. Roode looking to keep Joe down, but Joe is able to get the rope break. Right hands from Roode are countered by jabs from Joe. Back elbows exchanged and Joe gets the atomic drop. Big boot follows, but the back splash misses for Joe. Knee drop from Roode misses as well. Chopping blows from Joe are countered by a spinebuster from Roode. Joe with a powerslam to regain momentum and Roode sat up top. Musclebuster attempt is shook off by Roode and he hits an enzuigiri that leaves Joe woozy. Clothesline to the back of the head gets Roode a nearfall.

Roode Bomb attempt does not convert and Joe sneaks behind for the Coquina Clutch. Joe sent into the corner as Roode snakes out of the hold. Knifing chop from Roode connects, but he charges into a STJoe. Musclebuster connects and Coquina Clutch locked in.

Winner by submission: Samoa Joe

Dixie Carter and Rockstar Spud head to the ring. Carter thanks the fans, but she knows this is not just her night and she welcomes MVP to the ring. Carter welcomes him and the two soon cut down to business.

Carter wants to start at the top, lauding TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus for all he does for his peers and fans. Carter informs the crowd and the roster to follow her lead into success. MVP seems skeptical and they'd like to discuss some changes. MVP takes the lead and criticizes Carter's management of the company. MVP declares the reign of terror over and he plans on being a hands-on investor. Changes will be made soon by MVP.

The show closes with MVP and Carter staring down and Spud escorting Carter up the ramp in a fit.
