Smackdown!: The Shield puts the Wyatt Family on notice
By DALE PLUMMER -- SLAM! Wrestling

What a week for WWE! Batista wins the Royal Rumble and gets booed out of Pittsburgh, Goldust and Cody Rhodes dropped the tag team belts, Sheamus comes back and CM Punk walked out and went home. Unfortunately that last bit isn't part of any angle or storyline, Punk is gone for the time being. Usually saying anything can happen is a cliché, but tonight, in Toledo, Ohio, anything can happen on the Road to Wrestlemania.

The Shield hit the ring. Dean Ambrose says the Elimination Chamber is custom made for them, and if they had qualified on Monday there is no way one of them would be coming out of the Chamber with the belt. Ambrose gets in Roman Reigns face, as posture over who would win the title. Seth Rollins separated the two, and gets them to focus on the Wyatt Family, who cost them the match on Monday night. Rollins says they need to focus on the Wyatts. Ambrose says if they can't win the WWE World Heavyweight Title, they will wipe the Wyatt Family off the map.

Vickie Guerrero walks out on stage to make history, but if cut off by Triple H. Hunter takes the microphone and heads to the ring, telling The Shield that he understands where they are coming from, but they need to let it go. There's nothing to gain from taking out the Wyatts and orders them to let the Wyatts go. Reigns gets in Hunter's face and tells him that they aren't asking for his approval. Hunter accepts that this is what The Shield wants and gives them a match at Elimination Chamber.

Match #1 - Dolph Ziggler vs. Antonio Cesaro w/ Zeb Colter - Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match

Cesaro nearly scores a pin to start the match. Ziggler kicks out the two men trade near falls, before Ziggler hits a famouser. Cesaro catches Ziggler attempting a cross body and counters it with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker. Ziggler hammers away with right hands, but Cesaro sends him over the ropes with a clothesline and we go to break.

After the commercials, Cesaro has Ziggler in a head lock on the mat. Ziggler powers out and catches Cesaro with a drop kick. Ziggler counters a titl-a-whirl with a sleeper hold., Cesaro breaks it and looks for the uppercut. Ziggler counters with a DDT, but cannot get the three count. Cesaro blocks the Zig Zag and is able to take Ziggler for a swing. Cesaro follows with the Neutralizer and covers Ziggler to get the three count.

Winner via pinfall: Antonio Cesaro

Match #2 – Fandango w/ Summer Rae vs. Xavier Woods

R-Truth joins the commentary team, as the Funkadactyls watch Xavier from ring side. The fight spills to the floor, when the camera catches Emma from NXT promoting herself in the front row. Summer Rae destroys her sign, but she came prepared with a back up; #EMMAlution. Back in the ring, Fandango catches Woods on the turnbuckle and drops him with suplex. Fandango covers to get the win.

Winner via pinfall: Fandango

After the bell, Fandango looks to inflict more damage, but Truth runs in to make the save.

Match #3 - The Prime Time Players vs. Ryback and Curtis Axel

Ryback kicks Darren Young coming back into the ring and hits with Meat Hook Clothesline. Axel tags in and plants Young with a inverted neck breaker. Axel covers for the win.

Winner via pinfall: Ryback and Curtis Axel

After the match, Titus O'Neal does not look happy on the apron. He confronts his partner and looks to walk away. Young tries to appeal to him by saying they are family. O'Neal says they aren't family, and ever since they have teamed up he has been a loser. O'Neal says he is shedding the dead weight that is Darren Young and kicks him in the chest. O'Neal stomps away at Young and kicks him out of the ring. He follows by slamming him into the security barrier before heading back to the locker room.

In case you missed the news, the next WWE Hall of Fame inductee is Jake "The Snake" Roberts.

Match #4 – Christian vs. Jack Swagger w/ Zeb Colter - Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match

Swagger tosses Christian over the top rope to the floor. Swagger tosses him back into the ring. Swagger sets Christian up on the turnbuckle, but Christian counters and plants him with a DDT. A drop toe hold sends Swagger into the ropes. Christian follows with a drop kick off the middle turnbuckle. Swagger hits a gut wrench power bomb, but cannot get the pin. Colter yells instruction to Swagger, but it gives Christian time to roll away from the Swagger Bomb. Swagger locks in the Patriot Lock, but Christian counters with a roll up. Swagger kicks out and sends Christian into the corner. Christian fights Swagger off the turnbuckle and follows with a frog splash. Christian covers to get the win.

Winner by pinfall: Christian

Renee Young catches up with Christian backstage. She welcomes him back and Christian is proud of earning the opportunity to compete in the Elimination Chamber, but he realizes the window is closing. He promises to be the most dangerous Christian anyone has seen.

Match #5 – Kofi Kingston vs. Damien Sandow

Anyone remember that six months ago Sandow held the Money in the Bank? Sandow address his struggles in a video before the match, saying this is his trial by fire. Things don't get better for Sandow as Kofi nails him with the SOS and covers for the win.

Winner via pinfall: Kofi Kingston

Match #6 – Cody Rhodes w/Goldust vs. Road Dogg w/ Billy Gunn

Somebody needs to tell the New Age Outlaws that they can't get heat if they continue to do their intro from the Attitude Era. Cody and Goldust get their title rematch on Monday, so tonight is just a warm up. Cody connects with a disaster kick, as Billy Gunn and Goldust get into on the outside. Cody covers to get the win.

Winners via pinfall: Cody Rhodes

After the bell, Billy attacks Cody. Goldust jumps in and the two fight off the Outlaws, who slink to the back.

Match #7 – The Shield vs. Sheamus, Daniel Bryan and Rey Mysterio

Before the match, Bray Wyatt and family appears on the Titantron to address the Shield. They deliver some very cryptic messages to The Shield before disappearing.

After the commercials, Bryan has Seth Rollins locked in a surfboard. Mysterio tags in and Rollins runs into boot. A hurricanrana sends Rollins into the ropes, but he is able to get a tag before Rey can hit the 619. Reigns sends Mysterio flying out of the ring. He slams him into the security barrier before tosses him back into the ring. Rey can't get a tag and Rollins stomps away at him. Mysterio fights Rollins in the corner and Rey is able to use a head scissors to smash Rollins into the turnbuckle. Bryan gets the hot tag as Rollins tags in Reigns. Bryan kicks Reigns in the chest, but misses the kick to the head. Bryan sends Roman over the top rope and flies through the ropes to take him out. Bryan then takes out Ambrose, as Sheamus hits Rollins with a back breaker. Reigns takes out Sheamus with the Superman punch, but Bryan drills him with a missile drop kick. Bryan applies the YES! lock, only to have Ambrose break it up. Sheamus pulls Dean out of the ring. Ambrose runs Sheamus into the ring post, but Sheamus is still able to take him out with the Brogue Kick. Mysterio hits a seated senton on Reigns and then drops him into the ropes. Rey fires up the 619, but Reigns nearly breaks him in half with a spear. Reigns covers to get the win.
