Main Event: Three decent matches rule the night
By MATT MACKINDER- SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight’s WWE Main Event emanates from Toledo, Ohio, and three matches are on tap for this evening’s viewing pleasure, including a pretty good six-man tag team main event.

Tom Phillips and Alex Riley are ringside on commentary and we get right to the ring.

R-Truth hits the ring rapping his entrance song and I had to check if this was a re-run as this is exactly how last week’s show started. Then his opponent this week comes out and nope, not a re-run.

Match #1 - R-Truth vs. Alberto Del Rio

Actually, a very good, technical match here. Del Rio gets a near-fall after his superkick and then Truth gets a close pin after a scissors kick.

Truth places Del Rio on the top buckle and attempts a superplex. Del Rio blocks it and shoves Truth, who is hung up in the corner. Del Rio leaps off with the double stomp and that’s it.

Winner via pinfall: Alberto Del Rio

In the back, Tamina Snuka, Alicia Fox and Aksana are approached by the Bella Twins and Natalya. Apparently, Natalya and Tamina have a singles match next. Tamina says after the match, Natalya will have to be treated like Old Yeller. Nattie responds by calling Tamina “sir.” Hmmm…

Match #2 - Natalya vs. Tamina Snuka

Divas champ A.J. Lee joins Riley and Phillips on commentary.

Another good match here that sees Natalya duck a superkick and schoolboy Superfly’s daughter for three.

Winner via pinfall: Natalya

A.J. attacks Natalya on floor and then Tamina drills her superkick on Natalya in the ring. The Funkadactyls run out and double-team Snuka to end the segment. A.J. just looks out smiling.

A WWE.com exclusive is next and shows Michael Cole interviewing with Triple H. Next Monday on Raw, Cody Rhodes and Goldust will get a rematch versus the New Age Outlaws for the WWE World tag team titles … wait for it … inside a steel cage!

The Raw Rebound recaps all the shenanigans from two nights ago in the Elimination Chamber qualifying match where John Cena, Sheamus and Daniel Bryan beat The Shield by disqualification when the Wyatt Family jumped the faces.

Match #3 - The Usos and Big E. Langston vs. 3MB

This match should get decent time as it’s only 8:41 p.m.

Lots of action here, lots of double-team moves and let me say, the Usos are over. They just make me feel old because I grew up watching their old man, Rikishi, wrestle as part of the Samoan Swat Team and the Head Shrinkers. Yeah, Google it, people.

After a couple commercials, the end comes when Langston imitates the Ultimate Warrior’s running big splash on Heath Slater and the Usos lay out Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre. Langston hits the Big Ending on Slater, while the Usos hit stereo top-rope splashes on Mahal and McIntyre. All three cover, all three get pins.

Winners via pinfall: The Usos and Big E. Langston

The winners dance in the ring to end the show, which in my opinion, was very, very good tonight. It was straight-up wrestling, which is how an old school nut like me thinks it should be.
