Impact: Week one of Genesis brings high stakes for Carter family

Genesis is the rebirth and TNA President Dixie Carter has certainly done her best to change the landscape of the company, for better or worse. TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus now lays undisputed claim to the belt and the Carter regime has never been stronger. Tonight on the special Genesis edition of TNA Impact, Ethan Carter III has high hopes on his aunt's protection in his matchup against Sting. Plus, gold is on the line in the TNA Knockouts division. All that and more on this week's special Genesis edition of TNA Impact!

Recap of all the latest events in TNA.

We are LIVE from Huntsville, Ala. Mike Tenay and Taz have the call for this week.

TNA Chief of Staff Rockstar Spud greets us in the middle of the ring. Spud having a hard time speaking as he is being booed out of the building, but he ultimately introduces TNA President Dixie Carter.

Carter makes her way out and she believes she has proven what happens when you cross the boss. She asks if there will be any takers this week, but she'd like to address last week. Carter tells Styles she warned him and that his disrespect got him where he ended up last night. Carter promises a new chapter in this company tonight and that someone will help TNA usher in that new chapter tonight with the help of TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus.

Magnus hits the ring. Magnus says tonight is historic because TNA has left unnecessary business in the rear-view mirror and tonight begins the reign of Magnus. Magnus is wearing two belt and he takes one off. Magnus thanks Carter for all of this and declares her the "champion of our hearts." Carter asks to bring out a few people who presented loyalty to the company so they can be thanked.

TNA World Tag Team Champions The BroMans, Zema Ion, Bad Influence, TNA Knockouts Champion Gail Kim, Lei'D Tapa, and Bobby Roode make their way out. Carter thanks all of them, especially Roode. Carter tells all of them that they will benefit greatly and that tonight is the genesis of a new company. Carter promises that a big part of this genesis relies on Ethan Carter III defeating Sting tonight and introduces her nephew.

EC3 makes his way out. Sting soon follows by making his way through the crowd with a bat.

Sting says there were some backstage that could not be bought because they have honor. Sting believes Carter stepped over the line messing with both wrestlers and the families of wrestlers, like with Kurt Angle last week. Sting calls Magnus a "paper champion." Sting believed in Magnus and he didn't think he'd sell out. This is a house divided and Sting believes it won't stand. Sting believes that there will be a fight tonight. Carter says she only sees Sting and Sting charges the ring as backup comes.

Samoa Joe, Gunner, "Cowboy" James Storm. ODB, Eric Young, and Sting all charges the ring. All that are left are EC3 and Sting. Sting backs EC3 down with his bat and jabs it into the gut of EC3 as we break.

Samoa Joe takes the mic as we return and he tells Huntsville that he is ready for a fight tonight. Rockstar Spud makes his way out with referee Brian Hebner and he declares this 12-man tag official.

12-Man Tag Match One: The BroMans, Zema Ion, Bad Influence, & Lei'D Tapa vs. "Cowboy" James Storm, Gunner, Joseph Park, Eric Young, Samoa Joe, & ODB

The brawl starts outside. Zema Ion and Samoa Joe are the first two inside. Joe levels Ion with a shoulder block and rocks him with jabs in the corner. Ion sent off into the corner and he tries a crossbody, but Joe sidesteps him. Enuzigiri in the corner connects and both men go outside.

ODB and Lei'D Tapa now in. They brawl in and out quickly before James Storm and Christopher Daniels make their way in. Storm sends Daniels out and is take out by Kazarian. Gunner soon in and he gorilla presses Kazarian out.

Eric Young and Robbie E in now and the match starting to take shape as teams are getting in their respective corners. Jessie Godderz in and Young and Joseph Park now getting the double-team offense working. Young up top and a distraction gets him knocked down by Robbie E. The BroMans now all working on Young. Ion with a springboard moonsault. ODB takes him out with a fallaway slam and she is sent flying by a shoulder bump from Tapa.

Things now more organized and Daniels in against Young. Heel kick and a nearfall for Daniels lead to a sleeper. Young fighting out and he is able to hit a belly-to-belly throw. Samoa Joe brought in and he levels Daniels with clotheslines. Inverted atomic drop followed by a big boot. Back splash gets a nearfall.

Kazarian attempts to help his partner by breaking the pin, but he elbows his own partner. Joe sends Daniels out and hits a suicide dive on The BroMans outside. Brawl ensuing outside and inside, Kazarian hits Joseph Park with an enzuigiri that bloodies the lip. Park now with clotheslines for everyone in sight. Chokeslam on Ion. Black Hole Slam for Kaz. Gunner and Storm come in to congratulate him, but Park in full Abyss mode and he clotheslines them both down.

Joe and Daniels now battling inside. Huge chop from Joe is countered by Daniels. Joe cornered, but he hits the STJoe on Daniels. Coquina Clutch locked in on Daniels in the center of the ring. Daniels dragged down and has nowhere to go.

Winners by submission: "Cowboy" James Storm, Gunner, Joseph Park, Eric Young, Samoa Joe, & ODB

Velvet Sky looking stressed as she talks to Austin Aries. The two have discussed things, but Aries soon shuffles us as boyfriend and TNA X Division Champion Chris Sabin comes up to Sky. Sabin wants to discuss his problems with Sky in front of everyone.

Kurt Angle searching for TNA President Dixie Carter backstage in a frenzy.

TNA X Division Champion Chris Sabin and Velvet Sky await in the ring. Sabin believes Sky is being selfish. Sabin believes he is TNA X Division Champion for both of them and wonders what's going on with her and Aries.

Austin Aries makes his way out. Aries calls Sabin a bad boyfriend and tells him not to worry about stealing her away. Aries was only telling her she didn't have to deal with him and goes on to compliment her. Sabin laughs at Aries, telling him it was a nice try, but she is his and she proves that by doing whatever he says. Aries believes Sabin is proving his point. The two bicker back and forth over her and Aries proposes a match next week to ensure Sky won't get involved. The two will battle for the belt while Sky is trapped in a cage.

Sabin steps up for Sky, but Sky finally takes the mic. Sky agrees to the match and says she is tired of being forced in the way by Sabin. Sky wants to test the relationship and she tells Sabin that she might find someone new next week if Sabin can't defeat Aries.

Kurt Angle continuing his search for Dixie Carter backstage to no avail.

Pat Kenney backstage. He comes up to Sam Shaw and informs him he likes his work in the ring, but to not focus on TNA ring announcer Christy Hemme so much. Shaw thanks him, then begins to beat him down from behind. Shaw attacks him with a shoe and soon departs.

Ethan Carter III trying to convince himself in a mirror that he can beat Sting. Magnus comes in and informs Carter that he's acting like a rookie by doing this. Magnus believes Carter is showing weakness and he believes that he, as a Carter, can climb to the levels he is currently at, to which he adds he needed no help. Carter mocks him over that because of his help last week and say he is facing a person better than AJ Styles in Sting. Magnus recalls him tapping Sting at Bound for Glory and wishes Carter luck.

No Disqualification Match Two: Bully Ray vs. Mr. Anderson

Mr. Anderson with a cheap shot from behind as Bully Ray walks down the ramp to take us to break.

(Commercials)

We return with Bully Ray attempting to ram Mr. Anderson into the announce table. Anderson counters and smacks the head of Bully into it. Inside, the match is made official. Swinging neckbreaker after a big shot from Anderson. Mic Check attempt is elbowed out of by Bully. Both men land clotheslines and are down.

Both men outside and they bring in chairs. Both cracking chairs together and Anderson gets one to the stomach first. Chair across the back corners Bully, but he ducks a shot to the head. Charging, Bully runs into the boot of Anderson. Anderson charging with the chair, but Bully nearly breaks him in half with a spear. Chain now in play from Bully and he whips it across the back and front of Anderson. Chain around the fist and forearm leads to an elbow drop for a nearfall for Bully.

Bully with a chair in hand and he gets into it with referee Earl Hebner. Anderson cracks the chair of Bully with his own chair back into the head for a nearfall before rolling outside to get a guard rail. Anderson charging with it and Bully kicks it back in his face. Bodyslam from Bully on top of the guard rail. Splash from Bully misses and lands on the guard rail and Anderson now up top. Senton attempt sees Anderson miss and taste the guard rail himself. Both men down. Fighting up, Anderson with a Mic Check on the guard rail for a close nearfall.

Anderson wondering what he has to do and he brings out a table. Table set up inside. Bully moves up top, but he is crotched up top. Green Bay Plunge connects through the table, but Bully again kicks out. Anderson with another table. HE turns around into an STO from Bully for a nearfall.

Bully moves outside and retrieves the lighter fluid. Bully tells Anderson this is for his wife and insults his children. Mic Check from Anderson connects in a fit of rage. Anderson spritzing down the table with lighter fluid, but low blow from Bully from behind. Piledriver spikes Anderson into the canvas.

Winner by pinfall: Bully Ray

Kurt Angle finds Al Snow in catering backstage and roughs him up against the wall. Angle wants to know who told him to do and Snow just says he has a family to feed before Angle leaves him out cold.

Kurt Angle walks out. Angle says Dixie Carter was the reason he joined TNA seven years ago, but she involved his family last week. Angle wants some answers right now and he won't go anywhere until he gets them.

Carter makes her way to the ring. Carter says this isn't seven years ago. Angle says that Carter he knew is gone. Carter believes she did it to protect Angle from making a decision he would have regretted. Angle tells Carter she is warped for doing what she did. Carter thinks Angle would have stood up for Styles and gotten injured, telling Angle he isn't smart enough to make the decision. Carter did it because it was best for him. Angle says he isn't on her team and Carter believes Angle is unstable. Carter postpones his cage match for next week and tells Angle there will be serious repercussions for anyone who interferes in the main event.

After Angle threatens to go over the head of Carter to do the right thing, Carter calls for security. Bobby Roode makes his way out and clotheslines Angle from behind. Roode Bomb connects and Carter tells security to take Angle out of the building.

Jeremy Borash with Madison Rayne backstage. Rayne says she has been waiting a year for this, but Lei'D Tapa soon steps up right in front of her. Rayne asks if she's supposed to be afraid and Gail Kim attacks her from behind. Kicks across the stomach from Gail Kim as she taunts her about her chances tonight. Rayne is left down and out on the concrete floor.

Dixie Carter discussing with Earl Hebner. Carter informs Hebner that he will not be doing the main event tonight after last week's main event.

Match Three for the TNA Knockouts Championship: Gail Kim (c) (w/Lei'D Tapa) vs. Madison Rayne

Madison Rayne charges right into a knee in the stomach from Gail Kim. Gail Kim with a clothesline for a brief nearfall. Slam attempt from Gail Kim countered by Rayne falling on top of her for a nearfall. Rayne with a rollup that gains yet another nearfall.

Scissor stomp from Rayne bounces the head of Gail Kim into the mat. Rayne looking for a move, but Gail Kim sweeps the leg and Rayne falls right back on her head. Turnbuckle meets Rayne in a rude way as Gail Kim works her over in the corner. Rayne fighting out with shots, but she is dropped by a kick to the body. Gail Kim with headscissors to choke Rayne. Rayne struggles, but makes her way to the bottom rope for a rope break. Gail Kim sent into the corner and she tries a pendulum kick, but Rayne with a shoulder bump that sends her outside.

Rayne follows outside and sends Gail Kim back inside. Lei'D Tapa picks her up and chokes her. Referee Brian Stiffler ejects Tapa and Gail Kim is forced back on the offensive with a figure-four leglock across the ring post. Rayne working to make the referee's count and she barely does. Gail Kim charges her in the corner, but she is pressed up and lands flat. Rayne Drop connects.

Winner by pinfall and NEW TNA Knockouts Champion: Madison Rayne

Jeremy Borash has the microphone taken from him by Sting. Sting says he knows many want to come to his aid tonight, but no one will suffer consequences tonight as he will get his hands on EC3.

(Commercials)

Dixie Carter meets with The Wolves backstage. She is excited to be giving them a tryout match next week. The pair informs him that they signed contracts this morning and hand them to her before leaving. Carter reads that they were signed by a new investor.

Before the match, TNA Chief of Staff Rockstar Spud is introduced as the special guest referee.

Match Four: Ethan Carter III vs. Sting

Lockup leads to a stalemate and Rockstar Spud tells Sting strongly to watch the hair. Another lockup sees Sting try to land a punch, but Spud catches it to inform him no closed fists. Sting holding on to Spud and Ethan Carter III attacks from behind. Suplex connects and Sting counters with a dropkick that sends EC3 tumbling outside.

EC3 sent into two pairs of steps and a suplex on the ramp from Sting. Back inside, Sting charges at EC3 and Spud steps in front. EC3 using this to beat Sting down. Kicks in the corner to the stomach are followed up by a corner clothesline. Backdrop suplex converts and EC3 up top. Elbow drop misses and Sting with clotheslines. Stinger Splash converts and Scorpion Deathlock in. EC3 has the hand raised and Spud jumps on the back to lock in a sleeper.

EC3 now up and Spud being swung around to knock EC3 down. Scorpion Death Drop connects and Spud dazed. Sting with the cover and he yanks Spud down to force him to make the count.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus makes his way down and yanks Rockstar Spud out of the ring. Magnus takes off his suit jacket to reveal a referee's shirt. EC3 with a rollup from behind and Magnus slides in to make a very quick count.

Winner by pinfall: Ethan Carter III

Post-match, Sting tells Magnus he wants to fight him and that he'd do anything to fight him before the break.

Sting says he believed in Magnus and that's why he let him join Main Event Mafia. Sting believes Magnus is a disgrace to wrestling and that he is now a cancer that needs to be cut out. Sting wants one last shot to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Magnus tells Sting that he gave up the right to compete for the belt last year at Slammiversary. Magnus claims to owe Sting nothing. Sting tells Magnus he owes it to himself to earn the title and make something for himself. Sting says men are champions and boys wear belts and asks which he will be.

Magnus enters the ring. Magnus promises to not fall for the reverse psychology, but wants to make Sting a deal. Magnus knows Sting's contract is up soon and bets his belt against Sting's contract in TNA. Both men agree to the matchup and Magnus can't wait to rip up the contract of Sting in his face.

The show closes with a preview of next week's part two of Genesis after both men jaw and head backstage after agreeing to the high-stakes match next week.
