Impact: Magnus battles Styles to become the true TNA belt holder
By NOLAN HOWELL - SLAM Wrestling

It has all come down to this. AJ Styles leaves with it all or leaves with nothing. Magnus defines his legacy or costs TNA their belt. Tonight on TNA Impact, the TNA World Heavyweight Championships are unified in what is likely the match with the most at stake on it in TNA history. What will the Carter regime have planned for tonight? All that and more on this week's edition of TNA Impact!

Recap of all the latest events in TNA.

TNA President Dixie Carter makes her way out and wants TNA World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles to come sign his contract to get this all over with. He obliges by making his way out. Carter tells Styles she doesn't want to hear a word from him. Carter explains the contract is one night only and wants tonight's match to be no disqualification so she will never have to see him again. Carter wants him to be bloodied and bruised when she pictures the last time she was him.

Styles mocks Carter, saying that her last two champions have been taken down by him. Styles reiterates that this is winner take all and that he will officially be TNA World Heavyweight Champion, regardless of whatever tournaments or schemes Carter cooks up. Styles also warns Carter that there will be people to have his back in the no disqualification match should she send people down to the ring to try to interfere.

Carter is furious, telling Styles that she made Styles and put food on his table for him and his family. Carter informs Styles that no one will be coming down to help him tonight because she owns them and she can't wait to break him tonight. Styles believes Carter doesn't get it and she doesn't get wrestling. Styles believes he gave the title respect and believes that Carter's "paper champion" should figure that out.

TNA Interim World Heavyweight Champion Magnus makes his way to the ring and demands Carter leave the ring. Magnus tells Styles he won't call him a "paper champion" anymore and tells Styles that his time is up. His last image of Styles is him running away. Magnus congratulates Style on his run, but he says he will end Styles and become the true champion.

Styles closes by signing the contract and informing everyone that he never took the shortcuts Magnus did to win the belt. Styles promises to leave tonight with honor, respect, and dignity.
