NXT: Ascension, Hunico & Camacho go for a whirl in tornado match

NXT Tag Team Champions The Ascension have been dominant and even more intimidating in their current incarnation, featuring Konnor and Viktor. However, the team has not been without competition. Tonight on WWE NXT, the first ever tornado tag match will be contested between The Ascension and recent rivals Hunico & Camacho. Plus, Tyson Kidd aims to demonstrate his claim of being WWE's best technician. All that and more on this week's edition of WWE NXT!
We are on tape from Orlando, Fla. Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton, and Alex Riley have the call for this week.
Match One: Summer Rae (w/Sasha Banks) vs. Bayley (w/Natalya)
Summer Rae feigns a hug with Bayley because both are wearing headbands. Bayley exacts some payback by tossing the headband of Summer Rae to the mat. Summer tries to pick it up and Bayley gets a pin attempt. Summer Rae moves to the ropes, but Bayley grabs her by the legs and yanks her into the air to fall to the mat. Summer Rae hides in between the ropes in the corner. Bayley approaching, but she is kicked away and Summer Rae now on the offensive. Headband yanked away from Bayley and corner work from Summer Rae. Bayley bouncing the head of Summer Rae off the turnbuckle to counter. Off the ropes, Bayley gets punted on a backdrop attempt and Summer Rae with a facebuster for a nearfall.
Now toying with Bayley, Summer Rae chokes her with her boot on the center rope while stretching. Butt bump to the head gets a nearfall inside. Straitjacket choke applied by Summer Rae. Bayley fighting out and she puts Summer Rae down. Corner splash connects and Bayley on the offensive with a nearfall. Clotheslines and a back elbow from the top get Bayley another nearfall. Spinning heel kick from Summer Rae misses badly and the Hugplex connects.
Winner by pinfall: Bayley
Devin Taylor interviews Xavier Woods and informs him that WWE Director of Operations Kane is here to address him tonight. Woods appears to be relaxed with whatever The Authority has to throw at him tonight.
Match Two: Colin Cassady vs. Aiden English
Colin Cassady muscles Aiden English into the corner as soon as the match starts off. Corner work while spelling out his signature phrase from Cassady is followed by a clubbing blow to the back while shouting out his "SAWFT!" mantra. Nearfall off the offense for Cassady.
Cassady sends English into the corner and misses on a splash. English now on the attack with strikes and multiple dropping attacks for a nearfall. Keylock and neck crank combo in for English. The bigger Cassady works out of the hold and regains momentum with a back body drop. Knee lift and elbow drop from Cassady nearly get him the win. Up against the ropes, Cassady having trouble getting English. English kicks him in the leg and counters with the Director's Cut.
Winner by pinfall: Aiden English
Devin Taylor joins Adrian Neville backstage. Taylor asks what it was like for Neville to face WWE NXT Champion Bo Dallas last week, but Neville is interrupted by a phone call. Tyler Breeze appears on screen and it is he who called Neville. Neville asks why he would do that and Breeze didn't want to be bothered to look at the "uggo" face of Neville. Neville challenges Breeze to the waiting game, as he planned to sock Breeze right there, but will wait until next week.
Xavier Woods makes his way to the ring and WWE Director of Operations Kane soon joins him. Kane believes Woods is proud of his success as of late on Raw, but most notably his leading the petition to bring Big Show back. The Authority has waited to punish Woods and they plan on giving him an opponent that will punish him tonight.
Match Three: Xavier Woods vs. Alexander Rusev (w/Lana)
Xavier Woods immediately on the offensive with forearms. Alexander Rusev gets some space and sends Woods off the ropes. Samoan Drop plans Woods into the mat for a quick nearfall. Elbow drops, fist drops, and headbutts from Rusev soon follow for another nearfall.
Nerve hold locked in on Woods. Woods fights out and connects with shot after shot. Flying forearm and dropkick connect and put Rusev in the corner. Honor Roll connects out of the corner. Lost in the Woolds dialed up but Rusev counters and crushes Woods with a body block against the ropes. The Accolade locked in on Woods in the center of the ring.

Match Four: Tyson Kidd vs. Baron Corbin
Tyson Kidd with a hammerlock into a side headlock. Off the ropes, Baron Corbin puts him down with a shoulder block. Kidd again trying to use speed with a kick to the midsection, but Corbin puts him down with a back elbow for a nearfall. Corbin unloading punches and Kidd lands a chop. Corbin works him into the corner and lands big blows to the ribs and stomach. Running shoulder tackle connects for a Corbin nearfall.
Rear chinlock from Corbin sees Kidd work out. Corbin sends Kidd into the corner and charges, but a counter drop toehold from Kidd introduces Corbin to the turnbuckles. Dropkick to the apron from Kidd, where he lands an enzuigiri. Leg kicks and a spinning back kick lead to a dropkick for a nearfall by Kidd. Guillotine leg drop by Kidd sees him go up top and hit a flipping neckbreaker.

Tornado Tag Match Five: The Ascension vs. Hunico & Camacho
Viktor pairs up with Hunico and Camacho ties up with Konnor to start. Camacho struggling at first, but he is able to work out of the corner to get Konnor on the receiving end of some of his own corner work. Both teams brawling and Viktor is able to snag a nearfall on Hunico to gain the first pin attempt of the contest. Constant momentum swings as Hunico now being worked over and Camacho gets away from the stomps of Konnor. Match is focused on the corners of the ring as the men trade there. Konnor and Camacho trade Saito Suplexes. Hunico with a surprise schoolboy rollup for a nearfall. Camacho mule kicks Konnor away and hits a leg drop from the top on Viktor after he receives a powerbomb from Hunico.
The Ascension sent outside after a Hunico dropkick and Camacho demonstrating some muscle. The team in the ring plans out their strategy as they get a break and we hit a break ourselves.
We return as Camacho uses a slam on one of the bicycles to take out Konnor. Boot to the chest from Camacho and the action moves back inside. The Ascension mounted in opposite corners and the ten punch combo connects, but the champions with powerbombs for nearfalls.
With both Hunico and Camacho down, The Ascension laying it heavy with kicks and stomps. Action moves outside for Viktor, who works on Hunico while Konnor keeps Camacho on the mat inside. Back inside, Viktor goes for a nearfall on Hunico. Konnor plants Camacho with a flapjack for a nearfall of his own.
Action breaking down to a brawl inside. Viktor working over Camacho with vicious strikes in the corner. Hunico being slammed around by Konnor. Snap suplex gets Viktor a quick nearfall. The Ascension now tossing teammates into each other. One cycle connects, but Hunico floats over to the apron as he is sent into Camacho. Mule kick from Camacho sends them away and Hunico takes them out up top with a crossbody. Dropkicks and clotheslines followed up by a springboard moonsault from Hunico that takes both members out for a nearfall.
Viktor sent outside and Hunico connects with a baseball slide kick. Hunico holds the ropes apart and Camacho attempts a suicide dive, but runs right into a forearm from Viktor. Konnor from behind with a full nelson bomb. Fall of Man connects on Hunico.
Winners by pinfall: The Ascension
The show closes with the dim lights and The Ascension standing tall in the middle of the ring with their NXT Tag Team Championship gold in hand.
