Impact: Magnus crowned new champ at Final Resolution

With AJ Styles up in the air in TNA, there needs to be a Final Resolution. At the aptly named event, a new TNA World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned. Tonight on the Final Resolution edition of TNA Impact, Jeff Hardy and Magnus take a trip to Dixieland in a battle to earn gold. Plus, Kurt Angle and Bobby Roode square off in a two out of three falls match to culminate their rivalry. All that and more on this week's edition of TNA Impact!

We are on tape from Orlando, Fla. Mike Tenay and Taz have the call for this week.

Magnus looking for TNA President Dixie Carter and his opponent Jeff Hardy backstage. An assistant says neither has checked in and Magnus alerts him to tell the two that he will be heading out to the ring to get everyone talking.

Magnus makes his way out to the ring. Magnus describes his love for the wrestling business and his realization of the power of money. Magnus says he has always been about pride and honor, but doesn't know if the same applies to Jeff Hardy. Magnus knows Hardy has fought his demons, but he wonders if greed is on his mind after he saw him having drinks with Carter. Magnus wants an explanation from Hardy and warns no one to be fooled.

Jeff Hardy hits the ring. Hardy says Magnus shouldn't doubt what he's capable of for a moment in time. Magnus believes this is the biggest night of his career and states he remembers October 10th, 2010. Magnus accuses Hardy of making a deal with the devil and believes Hardy sold out. Hardy closes out by telling Magnus to worry about himself.

Christy Hemme with Kurt Angle backstage. Angle says tonight's match with Bobby Roode is big. Angle vows to turn everything around tonight and show everyone that he still has it by beating Roode twice.

Jeremy Borash discussing Feast or Fired reveals with DJ Zema Ion and Chavo Guerrero backstage. Both seem confident, although Guerrero is annoyed with the antics of Ion.

Two out of Three Falls Match One: Kurt Angle vs. Bobby Roode

Both men slow to start. Lockup and Bobby Roode grabs the side headlock. Kurt Angle is knocked down by a shoulder bump. Angle with swift double-leg takedowns for nearfalls before a reset. Angle now with the side headlock off the lockup. Angle with a shoulder bump of his own. Roode ducking and leapfrogging. Both men exchange finisher attempts and Angle with the Ankle Lock attempt that is thwarted by a rope break.

Reset and the men exchanging wrestling switches. Angle with a gutwrench takedown. Roode elbows out of the hold, but runs right into a belly-to-belly suplex. Action moves outside and Angle not letting up on Roode. The head of Roode is bounced off the barricade. Back inside, Angle runs into a mule kick in the corner. Angle ducks an attack and hits a trio of German Suplexes. Angle Slam attempt countered into an arm drag for Roode. Roode grabs the referee to put him in front of Angle, who shoves him out of the way. Low blow from Roode allows him to hit the fireman's carry slam we have seen in the past few weeks.

Winner of fall one by pinfall: Bobby Roode

We return and Roode working the rear chinlock. Angle with body blows to get out, but Roode drops him with a back elbow. Snap suplex followed by an unsuccessful knee drop by Roode. Both men down and Angle resurgent with clotheslines and a belly-to-belly suplex. Roode matadors Angle into the ring post and attempts the crossface, but he is hit with the Angle Slam.

Winner of fall two by pinfall: Kurt Angle

Roode moves outside and Angle brings him back in with a pair of German Suplexes. Elbows from Roode break the hold and he snatches the arm to lock in a Crossface. Angle struggles out into a cradle and Roode counters with one of his own. Both rushing for pins and Roode again seizes the arm. Crossface in and Angle scooting towards the ropes. Another slick pin breaks the hold temporarily by Angle.

Back on the feet, Angle looks for an Angle Slam, but Roode flips out and hits an armbreaker. Crossface reapplied by Roode. A struggling Angle with a desperation Ankle lock attempt that works. Roode looking for the ropes, but he is dragged back to the middle of the ring. Crossface of his own for Angle. Roode struggling up to his feet and he has Angle up for the fireman's carry slam, but Angle hits the Angle Slam. Nearfall as Roode barely survives.

Outside, both men tiring and Angle clubbing away. Inside, Roode tries to move outside, but Angle locks in the Ankle Lock. Dragged back to the middle, Roode doesn't have many options. Swift roll-through and one hand holding the ropes for Roode.

Winner of the third fall and the match by pinfall: Bobby Roode

Recap of the Roode vs. Angle matchup. Angle is shown backstage and he is broken up by Roode outsmarting him every time they meet up in the ring. Angle gives him credit, but he is uncertain of what he wants to do right now.

Video package recaps the friendship between TNA Knockouts Champion Gail Kim and Madison Rayne.

Feast or Fired talk between Jeremy Borash and Ethan Carter III. EC3 is confident about his chances and believes he is safe regardless of what the case holds. Carter soon calls Aunt Dixie, who informs him that there is nothing that can be done with these cases should he be fired.

Eric Young backstage and he plans to give Joseph Park some gifts to see if he remembers the old times.

Video package recaps the problems between Bad Influence and Joseph Park.

Eric Young makes his way out and Joseph Park soon follows after Young invites him out. Young tells Park that he is Abyss. Park doesn't know what to believe, but he knows he is Joseph Park. Young tells him, as a "scientist," that he is Abyss as evidenced when he bleeds. Young announces that Park will face Bad Influence in a Monster's Ball match next week. Young shows Park some visual aids, including a chair, thumbtacks, and bared wire. Park still turns down the match and Young has one more gift in mind. Janice, the spiked plank of wood, reappears and Park agrees to the match.

Feast or Fired reveals will be next.

Recap of the confrontation between Magnus and Jeff Hardy earlier in the night. Samoa Joe joins Jeff Hardy backstage. Joe understands why one would take a shortcut, but he didn't think Hardy was the type. Hardy informs him there will be no explanation.

Jeremy Borash introducing the Feast or Fired reveals. TNA President Dixie Carter joins the group and premises the stakes of this situation. DJ Zema Ion is the first to open his case and he receives a TNA X Division Championship match. Gunner receives a TNA World Heavyweight Championship match and him and Storm leave staring daggers. Chavo Guerrero and Ethan Carter III coming up.

Sting jumps into the meeting. Sting says the legacy of EC3 is at stake, then mocks him for not having done enough. Sting believes Guerrero hasn't had anything handed to him and presents an ultimatum to EC3. Sting challenges EC3 to fight him and he will take the contents of the briefcase. Carter declines and the briefcases are opened. Guerrero has been fired and EC3 receives a TNA World Tag Team Championship match. Sting promises that this is the beginning of the end for them.

Magnus backstage. He promises to answer all questions and walk home with the TNA World Heavyweight Championship tonight.

Match Two: Gail Kim & Lei'D Tapa vs. ODB & Madison Rayne

Madison Rayne starts with Lei'D Tapa. Tapa tossing Rayne around with ease. Rayne fighting back with kicks and rolls to tag in ODB. Both ladies exchanging hard blows and corner work. Tapa punts ODB in the gut. Scoop slam puts ODB down.

Gail Kim in now and picking up the scraps. Corner work and a running shoulder ram followed up by some clubbing shots. ODB sent into the corner, but she explodes out with a clothesline. Splash in the corner on Gail Kim and a forearm to Lei'D Tapa, Tapa eats the blow and grabs the hair of ODB, allowing Gail Kim to hit a dropkick.

Tapa now the legal woman and she gets a huge backbreaker. Tapa choking ODB on the ropes and hits her with a big boot. Gail Kim in and she only gets a nearfall. Uppercut and some corner work from Gail Kim lead to a missed splash. ODB presses Gail Kim into the air and both women down.

Madison Rayne in and taking Gail Kim out with shoulder bumps and clotheslines. Spear off the ropes from Rayne and some ground-and-pound. Tapa in to break it up, but ODB gets a sleeper from behind. ODB sent out to the floor and Rayne eats a forearm to the back of the head. Clothesline to the back of the head is followed by Eat Defeat attempt. Rayne turns out into a backslide.

Winners by pinfall: ODB & Madison Rayne

Sting meets up with Jeff Hardy. Hardy doesn't want a lecture. Sting says he knows what it is like and he doesn't want an explanation. Sting tells him that he needs to be true to himself.

Impact 365 shows Dixie Carter commissioning Rockstar Spud to get someone to make a new title belt.

Prior to the matchup, Jeff Hardy explains his meeting up with Dixie Carter. He knows what his past is, but it is only that. Hardy wants to entertain around the world and Carter can't own him with any guaranteed contracts or big money. Hardy promises to win and represent the company the way it should be.

TNA President Dixie Carter comes out. Carter tells Hardy that him and Styles are alike in the way that his family owes everything they have to him. Carter gave him second chances and he owes her as well. Carter tells Hardy to consider what is best for TNA tonight and that he needs her more than he needs him.

Dixieland Match Three for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship: Jeff Hardy vs. Magnus

Cage is locked and both men starting off striking. Magnus works Jeff Hardy into the corner and beats him up with strikes. Hardy sent into the corner and floats over for a headscissors takeover. Splash and ten punches followed by a slide kick in the corner. Hardy with shoulder rams in another corner. Kick to the chest of Magnus connects, but Magnus with the catch-up clothesline to level Hardy. Magnus making his way out of the cage, but decides against it for an elbow drop that misses. Hardy climbing to the top of the cage, but Magnus brings him down and both men walking the tightrope. Magnus has his head bounced off the cage and Hardy misses a Swanton.

Magnus is the first one up and he makes his way to the top of the cage from the corner. Hardy staggers over and meets him up top. Saito Suplex connects. Ethan Carter III joins Dixie Carter atop the stage to watch the match as we hit break.

We return and Hardy slides through the camera hole. Magnus catches up and a brief struggle brings Hardy back in the cage. Step-over kick from Hardy connects and an atomic drop is followed by a leg drop to the groin. Dropkick by Hardy converts. Clothesline from Hardy allows him to make his way up the cage. Magnus kicked back. Hardy with a springboard splash.

Both men down. Hardy first up and he hits Magnus with a Twist of Fate. Hardy goes to the well one too many times and Magnus with a chop block of the leg. Cloverleaf locked in by Magnus for a bit before he scales the cage. Hardy knocks him down, but he is soon taken out by a Death Valley Driver. Elbow drop from the top rope connects.

Both men up and Hardy with a back elbow in the corner. Whisper in the Wind connects to take Magnus out. Leg drop followup connects and Hardy now making his way up and out of the cage. Hardy stops at the top and hits Whisper in the Wind from the top. Both men taking the brunt of that and slow to get up.

Both scaling the cage at the same time. EC3 ties up Magnus and Hardy stops this with a Twist of Fate to EC3. The opponents lock eyes and now go blow-for-blow. Magnus crawling up the ramp and he breaks free of the grip of Hardy. Hardy catches up with the Twist of Fate.

Hardy limping towards the ladder. Dixie Carter stands in front of him and looks very upset. Hardy bellows at her to move. Hardy moving to the top of the ladder and Rockstar Spud emerges from the entrance to push the ladder. Hardy crumbles to the ramp. Spud sets up the ladder and eggs Magnus on to the belt.

Winner and NEW TNA World Heavyweight Champion: Magnus

The show closes with TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus celebrating with the Carter administration.
