ROH: Four Corner Survival bout a thriller
By MATT MACKINDER- SLAM! Wrestling

From Columbus, Ohio, tonight's Ring Of Honor show should be solid as always.

We have a dynamite opening tag team match and what should be a stellar Four Corner Survival Match. Let's get to the ring!

Kevin Kelly and Steve Corino are ringside.

Match #1 - Outlaw, Inc. (Eddie Kingston and Homicide) vs. The American Wolves (Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards)

Corino says that Kingston reminds him of Dick Murdoch. Ha! Just wait - more old school references later in the show.

What a great match, but if the rumors of the Wolves signing with WWE are true, you have to wonder if they'd get the win here.

Eddie gets pushed off the top rope to the floor, leaving Davey alone in the ring. Kingston hits him with a back fist and hoists him on his shoulders. Homicide comes off the top with a bulldog on Davey and gets the three.

And there's your answer. After singles losses the past few weeks and now a tag loss, is this the swan song for the Wolves?

Winners via pinfall: Outlaw, Inc.

Apparently, Kingston and Homicide will now face reDRagon (Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish) for the ROH World tag titles at Final Battle on Dec. 14 in New York City.

A look at the Kevin Steen-Michael Bennett match for Final Battle is next. It will be a Stretcher Match and the loser can't use their piledriver any more.

Match #2 - Four Corner Survival Match - Roderick Strong vs. Jay Lethal vs. ROH World TV champion Matt Taven (w/ Truth Martini and five Hoopla Hotties) vs. Michael Elgin

Corino makes the comment that one of the Hotties is wearing Buzz Sawyer's boots. Awesome.

The match is one fall to a finish and if one wrestler goes to the floor, another can enter legally. Wrestlers can tag any other wrestler, too.

Lethal sets Taven on a table outside the ring and hits and elbow, driving Taven through the table. In the ring, Elgin and Strong go blow for blow, counter for counter for about five minutes non-stop until the spinning powerbomb spells the end for Strong.

Winner via pinfall: Michael Elgin

And the push continues for Elgin as he makes Oshawa, Ont., proud.

ROH World champion Adam Cole gives an outstanding promo backstage. He faces Jay Briscoe and Elgin at Final Battle in a Triple Threat main event bout for the title.

Corino is in ring hyping the main event for Final Battle and brings out Jay, again with his fake ROH World title belt. Silas Young attacks, but Mark Brisco makes the save and he and Young battle on the floor with a strap. Cole comes in and jumps Jay, but then Elgin appears and readies Jay for the powerbomb. Cole kicks Elgin in the back of the head and then KO's Jay with a shot to the dome with the title belt. Cole poses with both belts, but throws down Jay's.

As always, superb performances this week. See you in seven!

Note: Here are the results from past shows on ROH TV:

Nov. 24 - Matt Taven pinned Zach Gowen, Jay Briscoe beat Silas Young and Jay Lethal defeated Eddie Edwards.

Dec. 1 - Roderick Strong pinned Davey Richards and Michael Elgin and Mark Briscoe went to a no-contest.

Matt Mackinder was happily back in the saddle this week for the ROH TV report and picked a heckuva show to watch - again. Contact Matt at mackindermedia@yahoo.com.
