Smackdown!: Thanksgiving show stuffed with Tag Team action

-- SLAM! Wrestling
It's the day after Thanksgiving down here in the States and that means two things, people mauling each other for a cheap TV and a turkey day themed episode of Smackdown! And with ANOTHER Pay-per-view, this time TLC, only three weeks away, WWE should probably try to give us a compelling reason to order it. As always the holiday festivities are hosted by Michael Cole and JBL.
Renee Young is in the ring to kick of the show from the Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut. She welcomes WWE champion Randy Orton to the ring. Young addresses the controversy surrounding Orton's win at Survivor Series. The champ says he wasn't knocked out on the floor by Show; he was just playing possum and didn't need to appearance of The Authority to win. Orton says they tainted his win.
Young wants to know if Orton feels abandoned by The Authority after they accepted John Cena's challenge to Orton for both titles at TLC. (Don't call it unification match!) Orton just storms out of the ring, and this interview is over.
Backstage, Vickie Guerrero is throwing an after Thanksgiving party. She promises that this party will not break down into violence, so she decides to hold a competitive eating competition. Titus O'Neal and Great Khali start woofing food down in what I'm sure in not a Major League Eating sanctioned match.
Match #1 - Mark Henry w/ Big E Langston vs. Curtis Axel w/ Ryback
Oh, Curtis Axel, it was fun while it lasted. Enjoy your slide down to mid-card purgatory. Ryback bullies Langston on the apron, but the IC champ doesn't bite. Mark Henry pays homage to the great Junkyard Dog by head butting Axle from the ring. Langston stops Ryback from interfering with a clothesline, allowing Henry to hit the World's Strongest Slam and get the win.
Winner via pinfall: Mark Henry
R-Truth is backstage complimenting Xavier Woods on his entrance last week, when Brodus Clay confronts the rookie. Clay says he gave permission to use his entrance, not steal it. Clay shoves Woods across the locker room, but Tensia and R-Truth jump in to stop the confrontation from escalating.
The eating contest is in full swing, but O'Neal is losing steam. Vicki isn't happy that AJ and Tamina showed up, and threatens to start a food fight. AJ walks away, just as Khali passes out face down into a pumpkin pie. Vicki tells him his prize for winning is a match against Antonio Cesaro.
Match #2 – The Plymouth Rockers vs. Los Matadores and El Torito
I dig this new 3MB gimmick, as long as they change their look every week and they keep losing. El Torito faces off against Heath Slater. The other band members try to surround him, but Fernando and Diego make the save. El Torito flies over the ropes to take out the band on the outside. Back in the ring, EL Torito takes Drew McIntyre down with a huricanranna. Diego and Fernando hit him with a dual back suplex and one of them covers to get the win.
Winner via pinfall: Los Matadores and El Torito
Match #3 - Tons of Funk w/ The Funkadactyls vs. R-Truth and Xavier Woods
R-Truth and Tensai trade dance moves as they trade punches. Woods tags in and immediately takes a shot on Clay on the apron. Woods catches Tensai with a kick to the back of the head, but he doesn't see Clay make the blind tag. Brodus decks Woods and the finishes him off with splash off the turnbuckle.
Winner via pinfall: Tons of Funk
Renee Young gets CM Punks thoughts on Daniel Bryan getting taken by the Wyatts and then being attacked by The Shield. Punk says he has yet to hear from Bryan since he was taken and doesn't why he was attacked by The Shield, but suspects they may have been following orders from a higher "Authority."
After a commercial break, Bray Wyatt cuts a creepy promo on why he has taken Daniel Bryan. He says Bryan will return, but as a monster, not a man.
Match #4 – Titus O'Neal w/ Darren Young vs. Antonio Cesaro w/ Jack Swagger
O'Neal is looking a little bloated after that Thanksgiving feast. Something tells me the Big Spin from Cesaro could spell trouble. Cesaro calls for it and starts the spin. Darren Young runs in and gets his partner disqualified, but he saves him from the spin.
Winner by DQ: Antonio Cesaro
O'Neal is looking a little queasy on the outside and suffers, what Major League Eating officially calls, a "reversal of fortune" into JBL's hat. He puked. Which is then thrown onto Michael Cole. O'Neal is done, staggering around the ring and then up-chucking on Zeb Colter.
The cast of Total Divas are backstage doing what they do best, selling out. This time for WWE.com.
Match #5 – Goldust and Cody Rhodes (Champions) vs. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns (Challengers) - WWE Tag Team Title match
Dean Ambrose joins commentary and reminds Cole that the Big Show helped Goldust and Rhodes win the belts. Cole also wants to know why Punk was attacked. Ambrose says that information is classified, but he also adds that he doesn't like Punk. Rollins gets tossed out of the ring, landing right in front of Ambrose. Goldust gets the hot tag, crushing Roman Reigns with a cross body. Reigns is power slammed to the mat, but kicks out of the pin. Goldust catches Rollins coming in with a cheap shot, but Reigns is able to use the distraction to toss him over the top rope. We go to commercial.
After the break, Ambrose is confident that The Shield will prevail. Rhodes ducks a springboard move from Rollins and hits him with Cross Rhodes. Cody covers, but Ambrose runs in and attacks. The Shield is disqualified, as CM Punk runs into even the odds.
Winner by DQ and still WWE Tag Team Champions: Goldust and Cody Rhodes
After the bell, Vickie comes out and makes a 6 man tag match.
Match #6 – Goldust, Cody Rhodes and CM Punk vs. Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns
Rhodes continues to punish Rollins, by slamming him into the security barrier on the outside. Rhodes then stomps him in the middle of the ring, before tagging in Punk. Ambrose gets the tag, putting the boots to Rhodes as we go to break.
After the commercials, Ambrose is in full control of Rhodes in the ring. Punk gets the tag, taking Ambrose down with a heel kick and clothesline. After a swinging neck breaker, Punk calls for the GTS. The lights go out and the Wyatts appear on the ramp. Ambrose gains the upper hand, stomping at Punk in the corner. Punk fights out of double team with a neck breaker to Rollins. The Wyatts attack Rhodes and Goldust on the apron, and the ref calls for the bell. The Usos and Rey Mysterio run down to make the save. Rey goes for a 619, but Ambrose trips him up.
Winner by DQ: Goldust, Cody Rhodes and CM Punk
Vickie walks out again, and orders a 12 man tag team match.
Match #7 – Goldust, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Rey Mysterio and The Usos vs. Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan and Luke Harper
Harper beats Jey Uso into the corner, but then runs into a boot. Bray isn't happy that Luke tags in Rollins, who traps Jey in the heel corner. Bray gets the tag and puts the boots to Jey. Harper tags back in and unleashes the gator roll. Mysterio gets a hot tag, planting Harper with w swinging DDT. Rey follows with a seated senton, but the runs right into a big boot. Bray splashes Mysterio in the corner, but Rey is able to kick out of the pin. Rowan tags in and slams Rey to the mat and then locks him in a bear hug. Rey elbows his way out, but then runs into a side slam. Ambrose makes a blind tag and whips Rey into the ropes. Mysterio holds up and low bridges Ambrose. Rowan and Punk tag in. Punk dives through the ropes to take him out and then back in the ring hits a running knee. Punk nails him three times and follows up with a neck breaker. Punk climbs the turnbuckle and drops an elbow. Ambrose makes the save on the pin, but is taken out by Cody. Reigns takes out Goldust with a spear, only to be knocked out of the ring by the Usos, who follow by flying over the top rope to take out The Shield. Bray stops Punk from hitting the GTS, but Rey runs in to take him out. Mysterio whips Rowan into the ropes and hits the 619. Rowan staggers in the arms of a waiting Punk, who finishes him off the GTS. Punk covers to get the win.
Winner by pinfall: Goldust, Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Rey Mysterio and The Usos
