Smackdown: The Wyatt Family prevail heading into Survivor Series
By DALE PLUMMER -- SLAM! Wrestling

Survivor Series is Sunday and WWE hasn't shown any compelling reason to order the show. Rey Mysterio came back on Monday night o help the good guys win, nobody cares about Big Show and Randy Orton, nobody thinks Alberto Del Rio will actually beat John Cena for the World Heavyweight Title, and you should be paid to watch a 7 on 7 Diva Survivor Series match. Maybe Smackdown! will change our minds tonight from Atlanta, but don't count on it.

(What I'm saying is don't order Survivor Series, but read the coverage here on SLAM! Wrestling. Fellow writer Nick Tylwalk and I will be taking one for the team on Sunday.)

Match #1 - Cody Rhodes and Goldust vs. The Real Americans - WWE Tag Team Championship Match

So, two night before what was once a major Pay Per View, we get a title match for free. Okaaaay.

Goldust sends Swagger to the mat with a drop kick. Swagger shoots off the ropes, but Cody makes a blind tag and connects with a missile drop kick from the top. Cesaro tags in. Cody lands on the apron after a back body drop, but is knocked to the floor from a kick by Cesaro. We then go to break.

After the commercials, Cody is in bad shape, getting slammed to the mat by Swagger with a belly to belly suplex. Cody gets rocked by a Swagger bomb, but a fresh Cesaro can't make the pin. Cesaro applies a chin lock and whips Cody into the corner. Rhodes fights out with a back elbow, but can't make the tag; Swagger had pulled Goldust off the apron. Cesaro fights out of an Alabama Slam and connects with the European uppercut. Cody kicks out at two. Cody fights out of the corner, climbs to the top, connecting with a moonsault. Goldust and Swagger gets tags. Swaggers gets planted with a spinebuster. Swagger runs into a power slam and is then tossed over the top rope. Swagger catches Goldy on the top turnbuckle is flips him over for the Patriot Lock. Glodust can't get to the ropes, but Rhodes saves him with a Disaster kick to Swagger. Cesaro catches Rhodes and takes him for a spin. Goldust takes out Cesaro. Swagger rolls up Goldust, who kicks out at two. Goldy hits Swagger with the Final Cut, a swinging vertical suplex, and covers to get the pin and retain the titles.

Winner via pinfall: Cody Rhodes and Goldust

Match #2 Ryback vs. The Great Khali

Ryback says he is a bully and he likes it. He then issues an open challenge to the locker room and The Great Khali accepts it. Khali beats up on Ryback, but it doesn't last long. Ryback is able to pick Khali up and hit the Shell Shock.

Winner via pinfall: Ryback

AJ and Tamina are discussing things, when Vicki Guerrero interrupts. Vicki wants to apologize for what happened on RAW and blames Brad Maddox. Tonight, Vicki wants AJ to show her team what leadership is when she takes on The Funkadactyls in a handicapped match. AJ sees through Vicki, knowing this match is a punishment for Monday.

Match #3 - AJ Lee w/ Tamina vs. Naomi and Cameron - 2 on 1 Handicapped Match

If you watch Total Divas, you will realize everyone woman on that show deserved to be booed. Unfortunately, WWE doesn't see it that way and will force the Divas 7 down our throats as faces. Even with Tamina's help, AJ can't overcome the odds. Naomi hits the Rear View and is able to pin AJ for the win.

Winner via pinfall: Naomi and Cameron

Bray Wyatt says the world needs left revolutionaries and more revolutions. He says Punk and Bryan are only men and not to be worshipped.

Match #4 The Usos and Rey Mysterio vs. The Shield

Ah, the Survivor Series warm up match. Both teams will face each other on Sunday are part of the traditional Survivor Series match, so why not have them face each other here. Mysterio hits Ambrose with the 619 and follows with a diving splash to get the pin.

Winner by pinfall: The Usos and Rey Mysterio

Big Show cuts a promo in the middle of the ring. He says he will win the WWE Championship. The current champ cuts him off. Orton says he wants to prove that he doesn't need any help to retain his title.

Match #5 Big E Langston and Dolph Ziggler vs. Curtis Axel and Damien Sandow

Reunited and it feels so good! It's good to see E and Dolph back together and now as faces. Axel gets a chance to win his Intercontinental Title back on Sunday while Sandow is, um, let me check, not doing anything on Sunday. Maybe he and Dolph will crush catering with Zack Ryder. Langston hits Sandow with the Big Ending to get the win.

Winner by pinfall: Big E Langston and Dolph Ziggler

After the bell, Axel goes for the cheap shot, but Langston catches him. Axel slips out of the ring before any damage can be done.

Renee Young recaps Alberto Del Rio's run ins with John Cena over the past week. Del Rio says he wasn't ready when Cena went after him on Monday, but he could have hurt him if he wanted. Del Rio tells the champ to enjoy his moment from Monday, because he is going to hurt him bad.

Match #6 Daniel Bryan vs. Luke Harper w/ Erick Rowan and Bray Wyatt

Bryan looks for the YES lock early, but Harper fights him off and slides out to the floor and we go to commercial.

After the break, Harper is slamming Bryan into the security barrier. He then slams Bryan into the ring steps before tossing him back into the ring. Harper connects with an uppercut. Bryan responds with a single leg take down. Bryan runs into a tilt-a-whirl slam, but is able to kick out of the pin. Bryan takes down Harper with a clothesline and follow up with kicks to the chest. Harper catches Bryan as he attempted the running kick and powerbombs him into the mat. Bryan kicks out of another pin. Bryan gets caught in the gator roll and Harper then applies a head lock. Harper goes back to the gator roll. Bryan gets a near fall with a sunset flip and then sends Harper to the floor. Bryan connects with the head first dive through the ropes. Bray starts to taunt Bryan, allowing Harper to attack him from behind. Cult of Personality hits and CM Punk walks out on stage. The distraction allows Bryan to roll up Harper and get the pin.

Winner by pinfall: Daniel Bryan

Immediately after the bell, Harper kicks Bryan in the face. Punk runs down the ramp, ducking Rowan and attacking Bray. Punk and Bryan are outnumbered though. The Wyatts take control in the ring, Punk is beaten into the mat and Bray hitts Bryan with Sister Abigail. The show abruptly ends with the Wyatts in the ring.
