TNA Impact: Bully Ray, Styles have final confrontation before BFG

Bound for Glory goes down Sunday night and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line as champion Bully Ray takes on challenger AJ Styles. Tonight on TNA Impact, the two have their final confrontation before Sunday night in a contract signing. Plus, who will gain and lose momentum before Sunday's pay-per-view? All that and more on this week's edition of TNA Impact!

Recap of all the latest events in TNA.

We are on tape from Tulsa, Okla. Mike Tenay and Taz have the call for this week.

TNA President Dixie Carter makes her way out with security carrying a briefcase. Carter believes she has orchestrated a work of art for Bound for Glory, despite having a "redneck" AJ Styles watching over her. Carter chides Styles for not staying down against TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray last week. Tonight, there will be a contract signing for the Bound for Glory main event and Carter says if Styles doesn't show up, whoever takes him out will be $50,000 USD richer for stepping up. There is a bounty on the head of Styles.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray and Brooke make their way out. Bully says Carter and him haven't seen eye to eye all the time, but he appreciates Carter putting an incentive out. Bully took out Styles for free last week and would like a cut of the cash, but he ultimately doesn't care who he faces at Bound for Glory.

Magnus crashes the party. Magnus says that people fought hard in the Bound for Glory Series and Styles was the winner, so he should get the shot even if Carter doesn't like him. Magnus believes there is no doubt why these people are against Carter and remarks that he'll fight Bully for free tonight in lieu of the hefty amount of cash in the ring.

Bully says Magnus might be the future of wrestling and has all the tools to be, but he now has to tell the truth. Bully declares Magnus a fraud and a "pretty boy." Magnus is the biggest disappointment Bully has ever seen. Magnus retaliates with a shot and Bully leaves the ring, accepting the challenge.

Kurt Angle is shown arriving at the arena.

Aces & Eights meeting backstage. Bully says he was proud of the group last week for stepping up to take out AJ Styles. Bully is imploring the group to try to take advantage of the cash reward and he promises to have the group's back tonight in Knux's match.

Four Corners Match One: Christopher Daniels vs. Hernandez vs. Robbie E vs. Eric Young

Robbie E starts with Eric Young and stomps him down in the corner. Young sent off and he floats over in the opposite corner to land a clothesline for a nearfall. Arm wrench in for Young and Hernandez tags in with a battering ram on Robbie E. Huge chops to the chest of Robbie E and he brings in Christopher Daniels. Big kick to the chest of Daniels. Power offense tossing Daniels around the ring. Scoop slam from Hernandez sends him off the ropes. Robbie E with a cheap shot, but he is sent down. Hernandez tossed out from behind by Daniels as well.

Robbie E with some cheap shots outside to the back of Hernandez and the action moves back inside. Daniels putting the elbow in the eye socket and working Hernandez with strikes. Running dropkick gets Daniels a nearfall.

Robbie E tags in and hits a snapmare. Right hands pounded into the head of Hernandez. Knee drop from the second rope gets Robbie E a close nearfall. Front headlock in for Robbie E. Daniels runs in to knock Young off the ropes and the two proceed to double-team Hernandez. Double clothesline from Hernandez puts them down instead.

Eric Young in with a double dropkick for both men. Clotheslines and dropkicks galore from Young. Robbie E stops it with a jawbreaker and an STO. Robbie E breaks the nearfall by Daniels. The two disagreeing and Hernandez ends it with a flying battering ram on Daniels. Get Off Me shoulder block sends Robbie E into the air. A cornered Daniels almost gets cornered splashed, but he ducks out to send Hernandez outside. Young sent into the corner, but the Flair flip takes him to the apron. Duck under on Robbie E to land a belly-to-belly throw. Elbow drop from up top as Robbie E tags the boot. Elbow drop connects and Young is tossed out to the floor as Robbie E gets the cover.

Winner by pinfall: Robbie E

AJ Styles backstage. Styles is asked what it feels like to be a marked man. Jessie Godderz attacks him from behind, but he is soon overwhelmed by Styles, who declares that it will be a long night.

AJ Styles hits the ring. Styles says Carter reeks of desperation by putting a bounty on his head. Styles is flattered by this and says he will repay her by winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Styles invites everyone who wants to cash in the bounty to take their shot.

Knux and Garrett Bischoff make their way out. Styles attempts to try to start out early, but he is soon overwhelmed by the numbers. The TNA Tag Team Champions Gunner and "Cowboy" James Storm make the save and Knux vs. Gunner will go down after the break as Styles makes his way back.

Match Two: Gunner (w/James Storm) vs. Knux (w/Garrett Bischoff)

Garrett Bischoff holds the leg from outside to start. Knux taking advantage by striking Gunner. Corner work from Knux works Gunner. The rope being used to choke Gunner. Gunner fights back with a forearm and unloads strikes on the downed Knux. Knux seated in the corner and he pulls Gunner into the turnbuckle. The two exchange shots and Knux sent into the corner, where he gets his boot up. Clothesline nearly decapitates Gunner for a nearfall.

Knux working on keeping Gunenr grounded. Body shots and forearms get Gunner back into it, but Knux bear hugs him into the corner. Scoop slam from Knux and he chokes Gunner with the knee. Neck crank submssion in for Knux and Gunner struggling to his feet. Body shots get the hold released. Gunner with a sunset flip out of the corner, but Knux attempts and fails a leg drop off the move. Both men taken out by a clothesline.

Bischoff and Storm clashing outside. Storm spits beer in the face of Bischoff and sends him away. Action returns inside and Gunner levels Knux with a clothesline. Fallaway slam from Gunner connects. Gunner looking to rack Knux, but Knux hits a huge crossbody for a nearfall.

Knux distracted with the action outside. Knux looks to be calling for Bully Ray. Gunner sneaks up from behind and hits him with a spear.

Winner by pinfall: Gunner

Chris Sabin and Velvet Sky backstage. Sabin wants to go collect the bounty tonight, despite the protests of Sky.

Aces & Eights backstage. Both members frustrated with Bully Ray no showing them after the call for the signal. They promise to make things interesting next time Bully needs them.

Knockouts match at Bound for Glory previewed. Gail Kim meeting up with Brooke backstage. Gail concerned with Lei'D Tapa and the impact she could have on the match, but Brooke is too concerned with looking good for Bully Ray to notice. Both declare it will be everyone for themselves Sunday.

TNA X Division Championship Ultimate X match previewed.

Chris Sabin searching around backstage for AJ Styles. Sabin runs into Samoa Joe. Joe says that Sabin doesn't have his priorities straight and he should be focused on him tonight and Sunday.

Review of how tonight's main event came to be.

Match Three: Samoa Joe vs. Chris Sabin (w/Velvet Sky)

Lockup and Samoa Joe muscles Chris Sabin into the corner. Sabin with an eye poke off the break and works Joe into the corner. Sabin attempts a splash and Joe ducks. Jabs and right hands flurry in on Sabin. Splash in the opposite corner and an enzuigiri from Joe. The boot of Joe raking across the face of Sabin. Sabin moves outside to hug Velvet Sky, but Joe brings him back in. Strike attempts from Sabin in the corner are not working on Joe. Monster chop sends Sabin out.

Sabin moves outside and looks to be heading back with Sky. Joe meets him up the ramp and Sabin using Sky as a shield. Sabin tries a sneak attack, but he is up for the Samoan Drop. Sabin counters and hits a DDT that puts Joe out on the ramp.

Joe barely makes it back to the ring in time. Sabin unloading stomps and kicks to keep Joe down. Strikes in the corner from Sabin. Joe whipped into the opposite corner and hits a flying forearm. Sabin spits on Joe in the corner and whips him to the opposite corner. ST-Joe lands. Atomic drop followed by a big boot and a back splash for a nearfall.

Musclebuster attempt from Joe is countered by Sabin biting the forehead. Sabin with a springboard tornado DDT for a close nearfall. Joe trying to be hoisted in the air by Sabin, but nothing doing as Joe locks in the full-nelson. Sabin rolls through on a pin attempt, but Joe snatches the Coquina Clutch to drag Sabin down to the mat.

Winner by submission: Samoa Joe

Post-match, all five men involved come out and brawl. A ladder is set up in the ring by Hardy, but he is taken down by Sabin. Hardy and Joe are downed by Aries and Sabin. TNA X Division Champion Manik hits a crossbody from the top of the ladder to take both men down and he stands tall among the men.

Bad Influence backstage. The two run up on AJ Styles and are taking it to him. Styles fighting back with punches and gets the fire extinguisher to hose the two off before taking off.

Ethan Carter III, or EC3, says he will be at Bound for Glory.

Match Four: Magnus vs. Bully Ray (w/Brooke)

Lockup between the two is a stalemate. Bully Ray hooking the ropes and the two disengage in the middle of the ring. Lockup once again sees Bully Ray get the side headlock and shoulder bump. Scoop slam from Bully Ray off another lockup. Magnus finally nabs some offense with a side headlock of his own. Shoulder bump from Magnus doesn't affect Bully, who plants him with a clothesline. Brutal chops in the corner from Bully. Magnus turns the tide with a barrage of blows. Bodydrop sends Bully down. Clothesline from Magnus sends him up top, but Bully crotches him on the top rope as we break.

Magnus sent hard into the corner as we return. Bully keeping Magnus down with strikes and stomps. Magnus has his head bounced off the turnbuckle. Bully offers him a free shot and Magnus rocking him with right hands. Bully counters with a face gouge. Elbow drop attempt from Bully does not hit the mark. The two exchanging right hands in the center of the ring. Magnus wins the battle and hits a catch-up clothesline. Saito Suplex followed by a big boot. Elbow drop connects for a close nearfall.

Bully cornered and he pulls referee Earl Hebner right into dodge, allowing the referee to be sandwiched by Magnus. Bully discussing with Brooke and he gets the steel chain. Sting rushes out to save Magnus and holds on to the chain. The referee is up now and tries to separate the two. Bully with a low blow as the referee has his back turned.

Winner by pinfall: Bully Ray

Post-match, Sting and Magnus again having heated words. Sting shows him the chain, but Magnus still not very pleased with the outcome as the two head back together.

Sting and Magnus meet up backstage. Magnus is frustrated with Sting's attempts to help and he wants to prove he can do all of this by himself. Samoa Joe comes to separate the men and Sting says Magnus will be by himself Sunday.

Bound for Glory card previewed by Mike Tenay and Taz.

Kurt Angle heads down the ramp. Angle wants to get down to business. Angle tells Roode that he is one of the most talented wrestlers he has ever seen, but he has tried to rain on his parade by making it personal. Angle does not want his legacy messed with and Roode has dug his own grave by doing that. Roode is one of the best of his day, but he will never be Kurt Angle.

Bobby Roode interrupts as he makes his way out. Roode says Angle is right that he'd never be Angle. Roode is okay with not being the Angle of today. Maybe two, five, or even ten years ago, Roode might have said something different. Roode says Angle ruined his night last week and Angle knows deep down that Roode is more deserving, especially as of late. Roode says Bound for Glory two years ago, when Angle retained the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against him, marked the beginning of the "It Factor." Roode says Angle will be defeated Sunday.

Angle asks Roode how he will beat him when he is the one tapping. Roode says he will not tap and cheap shots Angle. Roode promises not to tap and Angle snatches the leg. Ankle Lock in. Bad Influence comes up from behind and rams Angle into the steel post on his shoulder. Roode clears them off and locks in the Crossface until Angle taps. Roode promises to make Angle tap out.

TNA contract signing is introduced by Jeremy Borash. Both men are introduced. Borash allows TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray to be the first one to sign the contract. Bully takes the microphone and says Styles just can't beat him. He doesn't have the intelligence, the passion, or the power to beat him on Sunday night. Bully Ray gives him a wrestling history lesson. Bully documents the rivalry between Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes and the "hard times" of Rhodes. Bully says he has put his own hard times on the wrestling world, taking out Sting, Jeff Hardy, and Hulk Hogan. Bully plans to put hard times on Styles.

Styles appreciates the story, but Bully is no Ric Flair and he is no Dusty Rhodes. That Bully would compare himself to Ric Flair shows who Bully really is. Styles has some unkind words for Bully and promises to make Bully lose and Carter beg on Sunday. Styles says he is the most dangerous man Bully will ever step in the ring with at this point.

Styles signs the contract. Bully doesn't want to put his title on the line Sunday, but he wants to cash in on that money right now. Bully shoves the podium into the chest of Bully, but Styles cracks him with the briefcase. Styles dumps the money on Carter and her security. Bully and Styles yelling at each other about Sunday night to close the show.
