WWE Main Event: Ambrose puts US belt up against Ziggler

It seems WWE United States Champion Dean Ambrose cannot be seen without his hold. Ambrose has had a stranglehold on his title for some time in his dominant reign. Tonight on WWE Main Event, Dolph Ziggler presents a stern test for Ambrose as his belt is on the line. Plus, tag action! All that and more on this week's edition of WWE Main Event.

We are on tape from Kansas City, Miss. Josh Mathews and The Miz have the call for this week.

Match One for the WWE United States Championship: Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

Match starts off with a dropkick from Dolph Ziggler for a nearfall. Dean Ambrose being rolled up by Ziggler, but again just a nearfall as he moves outside. Ziggler takes chase and Ambrose uses that to stomp Ziggler down back inside. Side headlock takeover hits for Ambrose. Ziggler reverses into a side headlock of his own. Shoulder bump and a swinging neckbreaker earn Ziggler a nearfall. Elbow drop follows get a trio of nearfalls as well.

Ambrose cornered and Ziggler unloads. Ambrose reversing and now going to work on Ziggler. Chops to the chest connect for Ambrose as they go from corner to corner. Ziggler bounces the head of Ambrose off the turnbuckle to counter. Ziggler sent off into the ropes and Ambrose connects with a back elbow. Elbow drop of his own gets a nearfall on Ziggler.

Sleeper locked in for Ambrose. Saito Suplex attempt is flipped out of by Ziggler, who hits a back elbow and a clothesline. Corner splash connects and Ziggler off the ropes. Kick thwarts a bodydrop attempt from Ambrose. Clothesline takes both men outside as we break.

We return with Ambrose landing a running knee to the midsection of Ziggler for a nearfall. Ambrose drags Ziggler closer to the ropes and hits a jumping stomp to the sternum for another nearfall. Straitjacket choke from Ambrose in. Ziggler turns out right into a clothesline. Another stomp from Ambrose gets a nearfall.

STF stretching Ziggler. Ambrose transitions into a sleeper, but Ziggler is out with a jawbreaker. Punches exchanged by both men. Ziggler eats a knee to the midsection and gets deposited on the apron. Hangman's neckbreaker converts for Ziggler. Up top, missile dropkick nails Ambrose for a nearfall.

A cornered Ambrose is mounted for a series of punches. Sunset flip from Ziggler as Ambrose shoulders him out of the corner leads to a pinning predicament for both men. Clothesline from Ziggler earns another close nearfall. Boot attempt from Ziggler misses and the two fighting for a backslide. Ziggler flips through to hit the Famouser for a nearfall.

Zig-Zag attempt sees Ambrose escape outside to avoid the hold. Snap suplex on the arena floor by Ambrose. Ziggler put back inside and Ambrose heads up top. Ziggler playing possum as he meets Ambrose up top to land a facebuster for a nearfall.

Sleeper hold locked in by Ziggler. Ambrose fading fast, but he rams Ziggler into the corner. Ambrose looking to land more offense, but Ziggler sends him into the ring post. Rollup with a handful of tights gets Ziggler a nearfall. Up top, Ziggler is ripped down on his head by Ambrose. Headlock driver plants Ziggler into the mat.

Winner by pinfall and still WWE United States Champion: Dean Ambrose

Match Two: Santino Marella & Tons of Funk (w/The Funkadactyls) vs. 3MB

Brodus Clay and Heath Slater start us off. Slater looking to box, but Clay drives him into the corner. Slater with a jab off the break and he hurts his right hand on the head of Clay. Clay with a right of his own. Splash in the corner connects.

Santino Marella in. Clay hoists Marella to land a mule kick to the stomach. Tensai in and Marella attempts to do the same, but he can't get Tensai up. Slater off the ropes, but he hooks them to bring in Jinder Mahal. Mahal with the gutwrench, but he is driven into the corner by Tensai. Monkey flip from Tensai followed by the double-underhook suplex for a nearfall.

Clay back in. Tensai with a scoop slam and an elbow drop from Clay gets a nearfall. Jawbreaker by Mahal allows him to bring in Drew McIntyre. Clubbing shot to the stomach from Mahal followed up with a big boot from McIntyre. Running dropkick lands for a nearfall.

Slater back inside the ring. McIntyre and himself suplex Clay. Mahal back in with some stomping and grounding striking. McIntyre returns with a little bit of the same. Headed up top, McIntyre comes down on top of a headbutt from Clay. Mahal brought in to prevent the tag, but he receives a Sheee-Plex after knocking down Tensai.

Marella tagged and he unloads with jabs. Hip toss followed by a headbutt. Cobra is out, but Slater and McIntyre in to prevent the strike. Tons of Funk disposes of the two outside. Stunner from Marella and 3MB holding onto the Cobra. Tons of Funk sandwich them outside. Marella flung into an inadvertent Cobra.

Winners by pinfall: Santino Marella & Tons of Funk

Match Three: R-Truth vs. Damien Sandow

Lockup leads to a hammerlock from R-Truth. Snapmare from Damien Sandow leads to him unloading strikes in the corner on Truth. Suplex attempt from Sandow is blocked into a small package for a nearfall. Truth looks for a boot, but Sandow ducks to hit him with a knee. Snap suplex nearfall from Sandow.

Sandow looking to bounce the head of Truth in the corner, but a strike to the body and a strike to the head lead to a shoulder bump nearfall. Truth attempts an arm wrench, but he is sent out to the floor courtesy of Sandow. Sandow bounces the head of Truth off the apron. Barricade slam from Sandow gets him a nearfall back inside.

Clinch from Sandow leads to a barrage of knees. Elbow of Disdain gets a nearfall. Sandow drives the knee into the back of Truth and clubs his chest. Sleeper in for Sandow and Truth fights to his feet. Sandow drops Truth with a strike, but runs into a heel kick. Back elbow in the corner from Truth followed by a series of clotheslines. Front suplex gets Truth another nearfall.

Back elbow from Sandow converts, but Truth counters with a scissors kick.for a close nearfall. Suplex attempt is turned out of by Sandow, who gets the full nelson and converts on The Silencer.

Winner by pinfall: Damien Sandow

Raw Recap shows the continuation of the Heyman stable vs. CM Punk rivalry.

Fandango starts off with a chop to the chest. The Great Khali chops him down. Kick from Fandango is caught and Khali shows a few dance moves before tossing him down. Chop to the chest again from Fandango sees him sent into the corner and chopped himself. Another from Khali.

Summer Rae on the apron, moving seductively to distract Khali. Natalya yanks her down to the floor, but Fandango from behind with a shot to the knee. Fandango working the giant legs of Khali, slamming them across the apron. Elbow drop and a leg lock from Fandango. Khali clubs the back to get out. Off the ropes, Fandango runs into a chop to the chest. Back elbow and a big boot followed up by clotheslines. Chop attempt sees Fandango sitting down to counter and dropkicking the knee. Up top, Fandango lands right on a chop to the head.

Winenr by pinfall: The Great Khali

The Great Khali, Hornswoggle, and Natalya all dance in celebration to close the show.
