TNA Impact: Styles, Aces & Eights both face troubling reality

Things are in a state of disarray for many in TNA. While TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray and TNA President Dixie Carter have a view from the top, the men struggling beneath them in Aces & Eights and AJ Styles, respectively, are facing scary truths. Tonight on TNA Impact, there's more in store for both in what seems to be a collective downward slide. Plus, the X Division Championship is on the line. All of that and more on this week's edition of TNA Impact!

Recap of all the latest events in TNA.

Sting confronts TNA President Dixie Carter as she enters the building. Carter promises Sting that she has this whole situation with AJ Styles handled.

We are LIVE from Little Rock, Ark. Mike Tenay and Taz have the call for this week.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray makes his way out with Brooke Tessmacher. Bully Ray says that Dixie Carter shocked him last week by putting AJ Styles in his place. Bully believes Carter is in the head of Styles and he will use that to retain his title at Bound for Glory. Bully believes Carter made Styles and that Styles should thank Carter for all she's done. Bully closes by asking the crowd if they know who he is.

Aces & Eights come out. Knux has the mic and he says that they do know who Bully is. Knux says Bully is more concerned about himself and his girlfriend than the club. The crowd joins in on taunting Tessmacher and Knux informs Bully that Aces & Eights will take care of club business without him tonight against Aces & Eights.

Bully warns everyone to fall in line and that he makes the rules for the club. Bully names all the people he rid of from the club and promises that one man will be taken out from the club should they lose tonight.

Mike Tenay and Taz preview tonight's show.

Joseph Park is shown backstage shaving. Eric Young and ODB quickly enter and tell him that, because of his reaction to his own blood, there would be no more shaving on the day of a match.

Six-Man Tag Match One: The Bro-Mans & Gail Kim vs. Joseph Park, Eric Young, & ODB

TNA Knockouts Champion ODB and Gail Kim appear to start off, but Gail Kim tags out to Robbie E. This brings in Joseph Park to start. Robbie E shoving Park, but Park shoves him to the mat. Robbie E working the body and attempting to bowl Park over to no avail. Scoop slam attempt fails and Park gets one of his own for a nearfall.

Park sent into the corner and Jessie attempts to hold him back, but Park elbows him and mule kicks Robbie E away. Shoulder thrust to the stomach of Park from Robbie E and Jessie tags in. Park sent hard into the corner chest-first. Using the second rope, Jessie choking Park. After some strikes, Jessie with a sunset flip attempt. Park attempts a sit-down splash, but Jessie moves away to tag out. Flying clothesline from the top by Robbie E is followed by a splash for a nearfall.

Boot across the throat choking Park. Robbie E mounts Park and unloads strikes before taunting Park. Park uses this to land a Samoan Drop and he tags Eric Young, but the referee is tied up by Jessie and Gail Kim. The referee focusing on getting Young back on the apron as Park is beaten down by all three opponents.

Gail Kim feigns a tag and starts kicking and attacking Park. Restraint shown from Park and Robbie E attacks him from behind as he gets fired up. Jessie now made legal and the two send Park into the corner, but Park explodes out with a double clothesline.

Young in and a double-crossbody from Young. Clothesline for Robbie E and a belly-to-belly suplex on Jessie earns a nearfall. Gail Kim breaks the pin and she is sent out by ODB. Robbie E now tries to intimidate ODB, but she smothers him with her chest and is sent out by Park. Driver from Young allows Park to land a splash from the top on Jessie. Elbow drop from Young is followed by an ODB splash.

Winners by pinfall: Joseph Park, Eric Young, & ODB

Austin Aries backstage and he plans to tell everyone his plans for the future up next.

Hulk Hogan shown entering the arena. Hogan aims to fix everything between AJ Styles and Dixie Carter tonight.

Austin Aries hits the ring. Aries appreciates the welcome and outlines his past. Aries stating that he may not be the main event at Bound for Glory, but he will put on top-of-the-card quality.

Kenny King interrupts Aries. King says he is happy to have a live mic to say what is on his mind. King is annoyed by what Aries has to say, as he believes that he was making headlines last year. King says Aries playing Manik cost him another shot at the TNA X Division Championship that he believes was stolen from him and he owes Aries one. King tells Aries not to worry about his future, as he is the future.

Aries says that King is simply talking nonsense and that he can step up once he is done rambling. King tells Aries he isn't going to fight him today, but then drops him with a sucker punch. King stomping Aries, but Aries fights up and chops him out of the ring. Aries wants a match now and demands a referee.

Match Two: Kenny King vs. Austin Aries

Austin Aries opens up with a flying forearm as Kenny King makes his way back down the ramp. Aries unloading strikes and the match is set to begin officially after the break.

Strikes coming in numbers from Aries as we return. King tossed back into the ring by his own t-shirt. King rocking the crimson mask and Aries mounting him for ten blows in the corner. Aries tries again, but he is flapjacked on the top rope and falls outside. Aries having his head bounced off the apron.

Aries sent back inside to be on the brunt of a stomping barrage from King. Snapmare and a kick across the neck from King. Cornered, King hits a splash on Aries and attempts a springboard legdrop to no avail. Aries up and unloading chops. King sent into the corner hard and he eats an inverted atomic drop. Dumped to the apron, Aries with a shoulder thrust that leads to a gutbuster and leg sweep combo. Pendulum elbow from Aries leads to a Brainbuster attempt, but King spins out to land a right hand. Both men trading now and Aries taken out by a spinning hook kick for a nearfall.

Royal Flush attempt sees Aries move to the apron to land a reverse hangman's neckbreaker. Up top, King catches Aries with a kick and sends Aries to the mat with a head-and-arm throw for a nearfall.

Running dropkick attempt from King misses and Aries gets one of his own. Brainbuster follows.

Winner by pinfall: Austin Aries

Austin Aries runs into Chris Sabin and Velvet Sky backstage. Sabin is full of backhanded compliments for Aries and promises to win the TNA X Division Championship tonight to surpass the greatness of Aries.

Main Event mafia shown prepping for their match tonight. Magnus is frustrated by the Extraordinary Gentlemen's Organization constantly interfering in his business. Samoa Joe and Sting want Magnus to focus on the task at hand tonight.

Hulk Hogan makes his way out next.

Recap of the building drama between AJ Styles and Dixie Carter.

Hulk Hogan makes his way out. Hogan is happy to be there tonight and he needs the power from the crowd to handle the situation at hand. Hogan says his job as TNA Impact General Manager is to make everything run smoothly and believes airing dirty laundry on television isn't the way to go. Hogan asks the crowd if they want Styles to stay with the company and they react positively. Hogan invites Styles out to hear these people, but Styles doesn't show. Hogan promises to fix things by the end of the night.

AJ Styles backstage and he is ready for the big meeting tonight.

Match Three for the TNA X Division Championship: Manik (c) vs. Chris Sabin (w/Velvet Sky)

Manik immediately shoots a double-leg takedown on Chris Sabin and unloads strikes. Sabin with a knee to the midsection to end this offense, but he is soon hit with a springboard crossbody by Manik. Manik again avoiding the pin to punish Sabin with strikes. Sabin looking to take the mask of Manik and he is sent off into the corner. Float over sees Sabin tweak his right knee.

Sabin limping along outside, using Velvet Sky as a crutch. Manik confused by all this and finally takes action. Sabin shoves Sky into Manik and leaps to the apron to land a running kick. Back inside, Sabin looking for some corner offense, but Manik avoiding it by driving Sabin into the turnbuckle. Temporarily outside, Manik with a rollup for a nearfall.

Sharpshooter variation locked in by Manik. Sabin wrestles himself free. Sabin holding onto the mask to keep safe. Punch off the referee's break and Sabin dropping elbow after elbow before hitting a leg drop for a nearfall. Manik sat up top and Sabin looking for a superplex. Manik with a front suplex to send Sabin down and Manik with a missile dropkick. Swift striking and a standing corkscrew splash get Manik a nearfall.

Drop toehold on the ropes by Manik is followed up by the springboard dropkick. Sabin with a quick cradle as Manik reenters the ring for a nearfall. Manik with a double-leg and a slingshot into the corner. Sharpshooter locked in again and Sabin with the rope break with an assist to Sky pulling him. Sky is dragged into the ring by Sabin and he hides behind her in the corner. Sneak rollup attempt by Sabin is countered by Manik stacking Sabin.

Winner by pinfall and still TNA X Division Champion: Manik

Post-match, Sabin attacks Manik from behind and chokes him with his boots. Austin Aries hits the ring and Sabin soon scurries away.

Aces & Eights meeting backstage. All the members are worried about the club crumbling right in front of them. Knux wants to win one for the club to prevent the loss of another member and the group seems ready to go.

EGO meeting backstage. Bobby Roode, Christopher Daniels, and Kazarian all believe they deserve a spot in the TNA Hall of Fame over Kurt Angle. Daniels and Kazarian discuss their problems with Magnus and make allusions to him potentially losing tonight.

Six-Man Tag Match Four: Aces & Eights vs. Main Event Mafia

Magnus starting with Knux and unloading strike after strike. Knux being worked in the corner and soon tags out to Wes Brisco. Clothesline and a driver from Magnus put Brisco down. Garrett Bischoff now in and he gets clotheslines as well. Mule kick in the corner by Bischoff sends Magnus away, but he runs right into a spinebuster for a nearfall.

Samoa Joe and Sting in now to take care of Brisco and Knux for breaking the pin. The two are taken outside and handled accordingly. EGO makes their way out and Magnus poised up top. Christopher Daniels and Kazarian shove him down into the barricade and stomp him while Bobby Roode is tangled with the referee. The group soon retreats to the back.

Back inside, Knux, Bisschoff, and Brisco taking care of Sting in the corner. Bischoff and Sting now going at it as we break.

Aces & Eights still in firm control of Sting as we get a brief look-in.

We return with Wes Brisco and Garrett Bischoff isolating Sting in their corner with strikes. Scoop slam from Bischoff brings in Knux. The men exchanging strikes and Knux plants Sting with a big boot after a cheap shot on Samoa Joe. Nearfall for Knux off the boot.

Wes Brisco back in with strikes and a corner clothesline on Sting for a nearfall. Sleeper constricting Sting. Sting fighting up and out with body blows, but Brisco with a knee to the abdomen to regain control. Sting choked on the second rope and Brisco gets a series of nearfalls.

Brisco looking for a dropkick, but Sting hooks the ropes and Brisco falls. Clothesline puts Brisco down and both men downed and looking for a tag. Samoa Joe in and he takes out each member of Aces & Eights. Atomic drop and big boot leads to a back splash for a nearfall for Samoa Joe. Brisco with a kick to the chest on a bodydrop counter, but he runs into a powerslam for a nearfall.

Garrett Bischoff and Knux sent into the corner and Stinger Splash converts on both men. Stinger Splash for Brisco leads to Joe locking in the Coquina Clutch. Joe falls to his back to strengthen the hold.

Winners by submission: Main Event Mafia

Post-match, Bully Ray and Brooke Tessmacher make their way down. Brisco finally coming to. Bully reminds Brisco of the stipulation from earlier and tells him to hand over the club vest. Brisco refusing to and Bully demands Bischoff and Knux take it from Brisco. The two hesitant to do it and Bully clotheslines Brisco. Piledriver from Bully and he demands the vest from the two. Bully tells Knux to personally hand him the cut. Knux not happy about it and Bully taunts him until he finally does it.

Hulk Hogan and AJ Styles shown making their way to the ring next.

Hulk Hogan in the ring and he calls for AJ Styles first. Hogan believes Styles will be the man to dethrone Bully Ray for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and Hogan proudly offers a contract to Styles. Styles reluctant to sign.

TNA President Dixie Carter makes her way to the ring. Carter says Hogan was brought in to bring big opportunities to TNA, but he is overall just an employee under her. Carter says Hogan may see value in Styles, but Carter does not and she proceeds to rip the contract.

Styles attempts to speak and Carter sends Styles out of the ring. Styles bucks a bit before he drops the mic and leaves. Carter says no one understands the decisions she has to make and the fans need her to create the wrestling reality they see. Carter believes Hogan almost made a mistake in resigning Styles, but she chalks it up as a temporary lapse in judgment. Carter asks if Hogan is going to stand in line on her side or watch from the sidelines like Styles. Carter gives Hogan a week to decide

The show closes with Dixie Carter leaving the ring and Hulk Hogan looking befuddled over what just occurred, as he has a big decision in store for next week.
