Smackdown!: Triple H continues totalitarian rule of WWE
By DALE PLUMMER -- SLAM! Wrestling

With the brand split essentially wiped away, it's not hard to imagine that we will see Triple H's reign of authoritative terror bleed into Smackdown! Call it the Corporation 2.0, but the fans are buying into it. And it also means we won't see a show based on a spinning wheel as Smackdown! comes to us from Las Vegas, tonight.

Miz TV kicks off the show with The Big Show and Dolph Ziggler as his guests. On Monday night Show and Ziggler would not talk to Renee Young about what was happening to Daniel Bryan. Even Miz, kept his mouth shut. Tonight, though Miz is going to voice his opinion. Big Show says that was one of the toughest things he has ever had to watch and passes the microphone to Dolph. Ziggler wants Show to finish his thought, when Triple H walks out on stage.

Triple H asks Miz why he is in his ring gear instead of a suit. Miz tells the COO that you never know when a fight will break out. Hunter is upset that everyone is making this personal; it's just business. Triple H calls Orton the future of WWE and then runs down the three guys in the ring.

Hunters understand why Miz is angry. Miz once was WWE champion, but hasn't sniffed the title since. So tonight, Miz will face Randy Orton. Ziggler is upset because he got beat up by the Shield, so tonight he will get to face the Shield one on one, in a handicapped match. As for Show, he gets the night off, sitting right next to the announce table so he can watch everything that happens and do nothing about it.

Hunter orders Dolph to the back to get ready and tells Miz his match starts now.

Match #1 - The Miz vs. Randy Orton

A shoulder blocks sends Miz to the mat, but Miz fights back with an atomic drop. Orton fights off a figure four attempt. The two lock up in the middle of the ring and Miz gains the upper hand with a head lock. The champ breaks the hold and connects with a drop kick. Miz fights back, beating Orton into the corner. Orton catches Mix leaping from the top, but Orton counters the elevated DDT with a back body drop. As soon as Orton hits the floor, The Shield enters the arena.

After the break, The Shield is at ringside, allowing Orton to beat Miz on the outside. Orton rolls Miz into the ringside and applies a chin lock. Miz lands on his feet during a back drop and hits a high knee. Miz connects with a neck breaker, but Orton kicks out of the pin. Orton counters the Skull Crushing Finale and is able to connect with the elevated DDT. Orton taunts Show as he looks for the RKO. Miz counters the RKO with a back slide, but the champ kicks out. Miz attacks Orton's legs and is able to lock in the Figure Four. Orton is able to grab the ropes to break hold. The champ hits the RKO and cover Miz to get the win.

Winner via pinfall: Randy Orton

After the match, The Shield joins Orton in the ring to beat on Miz. Daniel Bryan runs down with chair in hand, chasing Orton and The Shield from the ring. The four regroup on the ramp, as Bryan stand tall in the ring.

Vickie Guerrero is fuming in her office, waiting for Daniel Bryan. She is extremely upset at him, calling him a bully. Vickie has Ryback waiting for him later tonight. Ryback says he can't stand a bully. Oh, the irony.

Match #2 RVD w/ Ricardo Rodriguez vs. Damien Sandow

RVD catches Sandow with a kick to the chin as soon as the bell rings. RVD connects with a splash. Sandown knees RVD in the gut and then drives him shoulder first into the ring post. Sandow gets hung up on the ropes and RVD hits him with a thrust kick. RVD goes up top, again, and hits the five star frog splash. Van Dam covers for the win.

Winner via pinfall: RVD

After the bell, World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio walks out on stage. The champ says the only reason RVD is number one contender is because of the turncoat, Ricardo.

Match #3 Dolph Ziggler vs. The Shield - 3 on 1 Handicapped Match

Ziggler ducks Ambrose at the bell, and attacks Reigns and Rollins in the corner. Rollins tags in, and kicks Ziggler into the corner. Reigns gets a quick tag and hits a Samoan drop. Ambrose re-enters, beating on Ziggler. Reigns makes a blind tag and spears Ziggler as he was tossed into the corner. Reigns covers for the win.

Winner via pinfall: The Shield

After the match, The Shield taunts Big Show and drives Ziggler into the mat with the triple power bomb.

Curtis Axel and Paul Heyman are standing in the middle of the ring to address the CM Punk situation. Axel calls his mentor brave for what he did to Punk on Monday Night. Heyman tells the fans he isn't sorry for his actions. He blames the fans for voting him into that situation. Heyman says the every time Punk has come after him, Punk winds up on his back. But at Night of Champions, Heyman says he is afraid, but Axel with own CM Punk.

Match #4 The Wyatt Family vs. Tons of Funk

Bray watches his brothers from his rocker, Tensai takes out Rowan on the apron and Brodus takes out Harper. The brothers recover, though, quickly dispatching Tons of Funk, as Harper pins Tensai to get the win.

Winner via pinfall: The Wyatts

After the match, Bray enters the ring and hits Tensai with the Sister Abigail.

If you missed AJ's promo from Monday Night, find it, and watch it!

Match #5 Ryback vs. Daniel Bryan

Ryback whips Bryan into the corner and follows with a spear. Ryback toys with Bryan, but is runs shoulder first into the post. Bryan connects with three drop kicks, and Ryback rolls to the outside. Bryan dives through the ropes, crashing into Ryback. WWE Champion Randy Orton heads down the ramp, allowing Ryback to regain an advantage and we go to break.

After the commercials, Ryback drops Bryan with a spinebuster and readies the meat hook. Ryback catches him with the clothesline, but Bryan kicks out of the pin. Bryan is sat on the top rope, but is able to fight off Ryback. Bryan knocks him to the mat and connects with a missile drop kick. Bryan unloads with a series of kicks and goes for the pin after a boot to the temple. Ryback kicks out, but cannot avoid the YES! lock. Orton jumps in, breaking the hold, and getting Ryback disqualified.

Winner via DQ: Daniel Bryan

Bryan, undeterred, gets the YES! lock on Orton, only to have The Shield storm the ring. Big Show has seen enough and leaps into action. Orton and The Shield back off, but Hunter walks out, ordering Show to leave the ring. Big Show follows orders, walking to the back leaving Bryan to his fate.

The Shield and Orton decimate Bryan in the ring. He is hit with the Triple Powerbomb and then Orton spray paints "NO!" onto his chest. Orton stands tall over Bryan with the WWE championship in hand as the show ends.
