Smackdown!: Sandow's Money in the Bank contract is all wet
By DALE PLUMMER -- SLAM! Wrestling
The Vickie Guerrero Era of Smackdown! starts tonight in Corpus Christie, Texas, as the road to SummerSlam begins. The WWE title match is all ready set, but what of the World Heavyweight Title? Will Damien Sandow cash in his Money in the Bank, tonight? I doubt it. AS always Michael Cole and JBL call the action.
Speaking of Money in the Bank, Randy Orton and Damien Sandow kick off the show. Sandow runs the crowd down, calling himself the uncrowned World Champion.
Match #1 - Randy Orton vs. Damien Sandow
Sandown applies a head lock, which Orton quickly breaks free of. Sandow goes back to the headlock and then snap Orton over to the mat. Orton traps Sandow in the corner and takes him out with a running clothesline. Sandow rolls away from a knee drop and stomps away at Orton. Sandow shoots off the ropes and Orton tosses him over the top rope to the floor. Orton drops Sandow back first onto the security barrier. Back in the ring, Orton connects with an European uppercut, but Sandow is able to counter Orton on the apron. Sandow drops a knee and we go to break.
After the commercials, Orton unloads on Sandow in the corner. Sandown drops Orton onto the ropes, but cannot get the pin. Sandow continues to work over Orton with punches and kicks. He locks in leg scissors and Orton breaks free. Sandow follows with a side Russian leg sweep and drops the Elbow of Disdain. Orton is able to kick out of the pin, but Sandow locks in another body scissors. Orton punches his way out and then explodes out of the corner with a clothesline. Orton hits a scoop slam and follows with an uppercut. Sandow escapes a DDT as Cody Rhodes walks down. Rhodes grabs Sandow's MitB briefcase, allowing Orton to hit an RKO on a distracted Sandow. Orton covers for the pin as Rhodes walks off with the briefcase.
Winner via pinfall: Randy Orton
CM Punk is in the ring to address the situation with Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar. Punk says he knows Brock's biggest weakness; trusting Paul Heyman. Punk says he finally realizes that everything Heyman did was for Heyman. An d now he is going to take everything from Heyman. Fandango interrupts Punk's promo. Fandango dance down to the ring and Punk jumps him immediately. One GTS later and Fandango is dancing in LaLa Land.
Match #2 – Wade Barrett and The Prime Time Players vs. Mark Henry and The Usos
So Mark Henry is a face now? That was a quick turn. Mark Henry hits the World's Strongest Slam on Titus O'Neil to pick up the win for his team.
Winner via pinfall: Mark Henry and The Usos
World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio drops in on new GM Vickie Guerrero asking if he can pick his opponent for SummerSlam like John Cena was allowed to. Vickie gives Del Rio a week to think about it, when RVD throws his name into the ring. Del Rio wants RVD to proves himself, so Rob says he will prove himself by beating Del Rio tonight.
Damien Sandow is in the back, looking for Cody Rhodes. No one has seen him.
Match #3 – RVD vs. Alberto Del Rio
RVD comer out firing, working Del Rio over with punches. Del Rio exits the ring. RVD chases the champ off the apron and Del Rio seems content to take his time getting back in the ring. Del Rio tries to sneak in when RVD has his back turned, but RVD catches him. Del Rio tells the ref his ribs are hurt and the official holds RVD back. Del Rio explodes out of the corner, taking a cheap shot at RVD. The champ then rolls RVD up and gets the pin.
Winner via pinfall: Alberto Del Rio
Sandow is still looking for Rhodes and the WWE staff isn't much help. And then he upsets Booker T.
Divas Champion AJ Lee hits the ring for a "State of my Mind" address, and Big E is in tow. AJ nearly loses her mind talking about former boyfriend, Dolph Ziggler, but AJ says she is fine. IT's all because she has the Divas Title and that will never leave her. AJ still has the keys to Ziggler's house, which causes him to walk out on stage. Ziggler says he has handed out thousands of those keys, and now the locks are changed. AJ has Dolph's suitcase and a pair of scissors. She proceeds to cut up his driver's license, passport, credit cards and cash. Dolph isn't bothered by any of it, and it is driving AJ crazy. She starts to rip apart his clothes and loses her mind. AJ makes her way up the ramp, only to be speared by Kaitlyn. Ziggler then takes out Big E.
Match #4 – Tons of Funk vs. The Wyatt Family
The match quickly descends into a brawl with Sweet Tea getting double teamed. The family takes out Sweet T and covers to pick up the quick win. Bray Wyatt enters the ring and drops Sweet T with a swinging DDT. Bray then calls out Kane, telling him he'll be in the ring with all his friends.

Damien Sandow bellows into Vickie's office. She hasn't seen Cody, either, but she has contacted the authorities. Sandow says he'll find Cody on his own.
Match #5 – Christian vs. Jack Swagger w/ Zeb Colter
Colter goes off on some anti-immigration thing. Christian sends Swagger to the floor with a back body drop and then follows with a plancha over the top rope. Christian climbs the turnbuckle, but is tossed off by Swagger. Christian rolls to the floor as we go to commercial.
After the break, Christian dodge a clothesline and connects with a missile drop kick. Christian fights out of a gut wrench, but then Swagger counters the Kill Switch. Christian flips over a suplex and takes Swagger down with a neck breaker. Christian drives Swagger into the corner and follows with a back elbow. Christian rolls out of an ankle lock and then drives Swagger into the ring post. Christian finishes him off with the Kill Switch.
Winner via pinfall: Christian
After the bell, Damien Sandow hits the ring, telling the crowd he wants Rhodes arrested and fired. Cody appears on the TitanTron to taunt his former friend. Cody is across the street, next to the Gulf of Mexico, waiting for Sandow.
Sandow storms out of the building to find his briefcase. He finds Cody standing at the water's edge, and begs him not to do anything rash. Sandow grovels out Cody's feet, but Rhodes still tosses the briefcase into the Gulf. The case sinks to the bottom of the sea, as Sandow jumps in after it.
