TNA Impact: Sabin, Bully Ray rematch set for Hardcore Justice

We are one week into the TNA World Heavyweight Championship reign of Chris Sabin. Tonight on TNA Impact, Bully Ray has something in store for the new kingpin of TNA. What could the dethroned Bully have planned? Also, the Bound for Glory Series continues with a marquee matchup between Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles. All that and more on this week's edition of TNA Impact!

We are on tape from Louisville, Ky. Mike Tenay and Jeremy Borash have the call for this week.

Main Event Mafia make their way out to the ring. Sting says that last week was one of the best nights in TNA history, seeing Chris Sabin win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Sting believes Main Event Mafia has won the first battles with Aces & Eights.

Kurt Angle says that the pain Aces & Eights has caused will be returned to them soon, but they are here to celebrate tonight. The Main Event Mafia returned to dethrone Bully Ray and dismember Aces & Eights, with one of those being accomplished last week. Angle wants to introduce us to the man responsible for helping them last week.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Chris Sabin hits the ring. Sabin thanks the Main Event Mafia and still is in disbelief over being the company's penultimate champion. There is a target on his back and his first order of business is to challenge the winner of the TNA X Division Championship to a match next week.

Bully Ray makes his way down the ramp with his attorney. The lawyer says there has been a lawsuit filed against TNA for the injustice last week. The lawyer tells Sabin to return the belt to Bully Ray or he will rock the company to its core. The lawyer gives Sabin until the end of the night to surrender the strap.

Ultimate X Match One for the TNA X Division Championship: Sonjay Dutt vs. Manik vs. Greg Marasciulo

The match opens up with Greg Marasciulo opening up on Sonjay Dutt. Manik attempts to intervene, but he is tossed to the mat. Dutt sent outside. Marasciulo charges Manik, only to be bodydropped to the ramp. Springboard crossbody from Manik.

Back inside, Dutt attempts to climb to the top. Manik yanks him down and hits a European Uppercut. Manik sent off the ropes, but he catches himself in between. Dutt charges, but lands outside. Manik tripped by Dutt and Dutt runs inside to hit a running dropkick. Moonsault from the structure by Dutt, Marasciulo with a clothesline on Dutt. Manik taken by Marasciulo and bounces him off the ramp. Scoop slam on Manik on the ramp.

Dutt and Marasciulo go at it inside. Headscissors takeover by Dutt after some ducking and diving. Dutt heads up, but Marasciulo brings him back down. Dutt locks a headlock in on Marasciulo and catches Manik. STO for the latter and DDT for the former connect for Dutt. Dutt again heading up. Manik charges and Dutt jumps over him, only to eat a neckbreaker for his troubles. Headbutt attempt to the midsection of Marasciulo on the apron, but Marasciulo leapfrogs for a guillotine leg drop.

Marasciulo now up on the wire, but he is brought down by Manik. Manik with a springboard armdrag on Marasciulo while headscissoring Dutt. Drop toehold puts Dutt on the second rope. Double kick to Dutt and Marasciulo on the outside. All three down as we break.

We return to Marasciulo and Manik fighting on the apron. Cradle back to belly piledriver on the ramp plants Manik. Marasciulo gets up on the wire. Marasciulo inching towards the belt, but Dutt pulls him down. The two exchange blows. Dutt with a running dropkick in the corner. Marasciulo with a running knee in the opposite corner. Dutt ends the exchange with a superkick.

Dutt and Marasciulo head outside to scale the structure. Marasciulo kicking Dutt around the structure. Marasciulo and Dutt now on top of the steel structure and exchanging blows. Dutt on his back as Marasciulo inches to the middle. The two meet in the middle and Marasciulo looking for a suplex. Marasciulo falls through the spaces and gets his footing on the wire. Manik now up and he is in the intersection of the wire with the belt, hanging upside down. Marasciulo falls and catches himself on the wire, but Manik yanks the forearms to pull Marasciulo to the mat. Manik unwrapping the belt as Dutt tries to reach through the spaces of the structure.

Winner and new TNA X Division Champion: Manik

Bully Ray and Mr. Anderson discussing business. Bully Ray gives Mr. Anderson a vote of confidence as the vice president of the group and wants him to get the job done in the Bound for Glory Series tonight.

Bound for Glory Series scoreboard updates us, showing Magnus holding a 23 point lead over Samoa Joe for the lead.

Bound for Glory Series Match Two: Hernandez vs. Mr. Anderson

Lockup starts the match. Mr. Anderson gets a side headlock, but a shoulder bump doesn't budge Hernandez. Hernandez encourages Anderson to try again, who feigns an attempt to land a cheap shot punch. Anderson off the ropes and Hernandez bumps him down. Battering ram off the ropes from Hernandez sends Anderson to the apron. Anderson suplex is blocked and reversed for a Hernandez nearfall.

Anderson grabs at the face and forces Hernandez into the corner. Whip and splash into the opposite corner on Hernandez. Anderson charges into a boot, allowing Hernandez to skin the cat to the top. Anderson meets him with a punch and presses him to the mat for a nearfall.

Crossface strikes lead to a keylock for Anderson. Hernandez elbowing out, but Anderson with an elbow to the back of the head. Hernandez sent off the ropes into a back elbow for another Anderson nearfall.

Hernandez bodydropped to the apron by Anderson. Battering ram back inside by Hernandez is followed by a series of clotheslines and a corner splash. Backbreaker gets a close nearfall for Hernandez.

Anderson runs into a Get Off Me shoulder block, allowing Hernandez to run to the ramp to fly. Anderson ducks the battering ram attempt, sending Hernandez crashing to the mat. Mic Check converts.

Winner by pinfall: Mr. Anderson

Recap of events from earlier in the night.

Dixie Carter is asked for her take on the Bully Ray situation. She states that she is just as confused as we are at the moment.

Joseph Park sitting around with Eric Young. Young shows him footage of his match with Jeff Hardy that cost him points in the Bound for Glory Series a few weeks ago. Park says that he blacked out after seeing his own blood and Young walks off to further examine the footage.

Velvet Sky hits the ring. Sky wants to admit that she made an mistake in letting TNA Knockouts Champion Mickie James know she was injured. Sky believes James took advantage and she will play things closer to the vest as she watches from ringside tonight.

Match Three for the TNA Knockouts Championship: Mickie James (c) vs. Gail Kim

Lockup gets Gail Kim an arm drag. Mickie James gets one of her own as the two hold onto the clinch around the necks and hair of one another. Referee ODB breaks the tie. Lockup again leads James to muscle Gail Kim into the corner. Gail Kim with a rake of the eyes and some offense of her own. James with another eye rake. Hammerlock submission applied by James, which is reversed out of by Gail Kim. Arm wrench into a hair pull to the mat by Gail Kim gets her a couple of nearfalls.

Side headlock in for Gail Kim. James fights out with shots to the body. Hair pull to the mat and a running dropkick from James gets a nearfall. Gail Kim with a side headlock. James reverses into one of her own. Gail Kim with a dropkick and a clothesline to get a nearfall. Rollup from Gail Kim with her hands on the ropes gets a nearfall.

The ladies exchange offense. Gail Kim with a splash and a crossbody in the corner as she moves to the apron. James up and hits Gail Kim with a spinning wheel kick. ODB begins the count. Kim barely makes it up and gets a hangman's neckbreaker on the apron. Gail Kim looking for the figure-four leglock around the ring post, but she is kicked back. Senton from the apron by James is followed up by strikes in a mounted position. Action moves back inside. Gail Kim attempts a clothesline, but James turns her into a neckbreaker for a series of nearfalls.

Gail Kim looking for Eat Defeat off a counter, but James with a flapjack counter. James up top, but Gail Kim ducks her attack and grabs a triangle choke submission. James gets the rope break. Deathlock from James is met with a rope break from Gail Kim. Up kick from her back by Gail Kim puts James in the corner. Splash attempt kicked away by James. James up top and goes for a headscissors takeover, but Gail Kim with a powerbomb. Nearfall broken as ODB sees the feet on the ropes for leverage.

James with some strikes. Gail Kim tosses her out to the floor and gets right back in the face of ODB. ODB pushes Gail Kim away lightly, which Gail Kim responds to with a slap across the face. James from behind with a schoolgirl rollup.

Winner by pinfall and still TNA Knockouts Champion: Mickie James

Gail Kim and ODB exchanging words post-match. Gail Kim attempts to leave the ring, but ODB pulls her right back in as they get face-to-face.

Brooke Hogan makes her way down the ramp. Hogan takes issue with Gail Kim smacking around another referee and reinstates ODB as a member of the active Knockouts roster. Gail Kim heads for the hills before any brawl ensues.

Dixie Carter and Hulk Hogan having a meeting. The two arguing over what to do between Sabin and Bully Ray. Carter leans towards stripping Sabin, but Hogan still has a decision to make.

Bound for Glory Series Match Four: Christopher Daniels vs. Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe opens with a leg kick. Lockup and Christopher Daniels pressed back by Joe crossfacing with the forearm. Arm drag into a series of jabs by Joe. Daniels counters, but runs into a shoulder block from Joe. Joe with the jab combo into the corner. Back splash and an enzuigiri in the corner from Joe followed by a monster running boot. Punt to the chest of Daniels. Drop toehold by Daniels on the second rope followed up by a clothesline. Stomps and a shin choke by Daniels. Chops from Joe countered by a series of chokes by Daniels. Elbow drop from the apron by Daniels gets a nearfall.

Chops and strikes from Daniels continue his offense. Daniels with the cobra clutch in. Joe elbowing the body of Daniels and he hits a belly-to-belly suplex. Clotheslines into an inverted atomic drop for Joe. Big boot and back splash get Joe a nearfall. Powerslam gets Joe another nearfall.

Daniels striking Joe, but Joe takes one palm strike to level Daniels. Nearfall once again for Joe. Daniels corners Joe, but runs into an STJoe.

Mr. Anderson makes his way down to distract Joe. Daniels from behind with a chop block to the knee. Best Moonsault Ever connects to Joe for a close nearfall. BME again connects.

Kurt Angle and Sting discussing the legal situation with Bully Ray. Sting believes Bully has nothing to offer in this lawsuit. Angle expresses doubt and Sting says the Main Event Mafia can keep things in order.

Bound for Glory Series Match Five: AJ Styles vs. Jeff Hardy

Lockup leads to an AJ Styles side headlock. Styles sent off the ropes by Jeff Hardy, but he regains control on the side headlock. Styles again off the ropes and Hardy with a shoulder bump. Both men countering each other until Hardy puts Styles down with a step-over kick. Swinging dropkick in the corner by Hardy connects as we hit the break.

We return with Jeff Hardy down and out on the floor. AJ Styles connects with a running dropkick that sends Hardy crashing into the broadcast table. Action returns to the ring with a Styles snapmare. Kick to the back and a chinlock in on Hardy. Hardy fights up and out with body shots. Hardy off the ropes, but Styles flings him outside.

Hardy back on the apron with a hangman's neckbreaker. Styles regains control in the ring with a spinebuster. Chinlock reapplied by Styles. Hardy attempting to fight out, but Styles springboards for a tornado DDT. Hardy shakes him off to hit an alley-oop facebuster. Both men down as the referee begins his count. Clothesline, back elbow, and a corkscrew by Hardy. Inverted atomic drop followed up by a leg drop to the groin and a dropkick by Hardy. Styles leaps and ducks Hardy to connect with a dropkick. Splash in the corner for Styles misses. Slam by Hardy followed up by a second-rope splash for a nearfall.

Kicks in the corner by Hardy. Styles counters with a forearm and suplexes Hardy into the corner on his head. Styles whips Hardy into the corner, but back elbow connects for Hardy as a counter. Whisper in the Wind connects for a close nearfall.

Twist of Fate is set up by Hardy, but Styles turns out and hits a Pele Kick. Styles crawls to the ropes to climb to his feet. Styles rolls through on Hardy to lock in the Calf Killer. Styles torquing the hold.

Winner by submission: AJ Styles

Post-match, Hardy extends his hand to Styles. Styles walks right past him to head back.

Hulk Hogan asked if he has a decision. Hogan says he is ready to do what needs to be done next.

Bully Ray heads to the ring. Bully believes he has been wronged and has been on the wrong end of an injustice. Bully takes umbrage with the wrestling world praising Chris Sabin for hitting him with a hammer. Bully promises to sue and do everything in his power to right this wrong. Bully asks Sabin to do the right thing and hand the belt over to him.

Chris Sabin makes his way down the ramp with the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in hand.

Bully says he has nothing negative to say and knows Sabin will do the right thing because he is intimidated. Sabin says Bully has become a crybaby, nothing that he never used his injuries as excuses en route to become the champion. Sabin believes Bully has been hit one too many times if he thinks he is handing over the belt. Bully says he is going to sue to get the belt back and demands Hulk Hogan to get out here.

The music hits and Hulk Hogan struts his way to the stage with contracts in hand. Hogan says he has been reviewing the contract with his lawyers all day and he has reached a counter with no negotiation. Hogan tears up the contract and announces that Sabin will remain TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Per Bully's contract, he still has a rematch clause and Hogan says that Bully will get a rematch at Hardcore Justice in a steel cage.

The show closes with Sabin holding up his belt while Bully stomps around in a fit.
