Matt Morgan latest TNA release
By JON WALDMAN -- SLAM! Wrestling
Just days after TNA released several wrestlers comes another announcement - Matt Morgan is no longer with the company.
The announcement came Tuesday evening via Twitter. Through it's @impactwrestling Twitter account and on its website, contrary to the news that emerged earlier on the parting of ways with the likes of Madison Rayne and Crimson, TNA announced, "Impact Wrestling has released Matt Morgan. We thank him for all his contributions and wish him the best of success in the future."
Morgan had yet to make any comment as of press time.
The announcement came following earlier reports from PWInsider that Morgan had asked for his release a month ago.
Morgan came to TNA in 2007, following a career in wrestling that started in WWE's original Tough Enough series and carried through to a main roster spot. Originally brought in amidst an angle involving Jim Cornette, Morgan would go on to have a successful run in TNA that included two Tag Team Championship reigns (one with Hernandez, the other with Crimson). Morgan would also win the Ring Ka King Heavyweight Championship during the TNA-affiliated promotion's brief run.
Morgan's release comes just over a year following his first supposed release from TNA. During this period, Morgan teased going to WWE, only to return as a second to Joey Ryan and embarking on a semi-feud with Hulk Hogan.
Morgan last appeared on Impact Wrestling on June 13, 2013.
