WWE Main Event: Kane battles Rollins before Extreme Rules

WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No will take on Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns of The Shield on Sunday at Extreme Rules with their belts on the line. Tonight on WWE Main Event, Kane will take on Seth Rollins in a preview bout to gain momentum. All that and more on this week's edition of WWE Main Event!

We are on tape from Wichita, Kan. Michael Cole and The Miz have the call for this week.

Match One: Kane vs. Seth Rollins (w/Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns)

Match starts with Seth Rollins on quick feet, ducking Kane into the corner to land a swift strike. Action resets and the same happens. Kane tosses Rollins into the corner, but eats a back elbow in the process. Rollins unloading body shots and lands a series of dropkicks, but it is stifled by a big boot from Kane. Kane now working on Rollins from corner to corner. Another whip into the corner is followed by a backbreaker slam and subsequent submission. Kane with a shoulder block for a nearfall.

Kane corners Rollins and lands an open-hand shot. to the head. Rollins into the opposite corner, but Kane catches him on the float-over attempt. Tombstone Piledriver attempt fails and Rollins rolls outside to regroup.

The Shield corners the ring and Rollins leaps in, but Kane with a back bodydrop that sends Rollins flying to the outside on top of Reigns. The Shield needing a new strategy as we break.

Kane with a suplex for a nearfall as we return. Kane off the ropes and whiffing on an elbow drop. Spinning back kick from Rollings, but he runs into a Chokeslam attempt. Rollins gets out and plants Kane with an enzuigiri. Rollins in full mount and dropping punches on the downed Kane. Rollins now grinding Kane down, working the body. Kane mounted in the corner and Rollins pummels him, then drags his face across the ropes. Kane fighting back with strikes, but he soon misses a splash in the corner. Nearfall for Rollins.

Rollins locking in the sleeper hold. Kane rolls out and tries a Saito Suplex, but Rollins rolls out and hits the ropes. He is caught by a Kane lariat. Kane now tossing Rollins from corner to corner, following with clotheslines. Sidewalk slam from Kane grabs a nearfall.

Kane up top and the wolves gather, providing a distraction that allows Rollins to dropkick him to the floor. Kane in pain on the arena floor as we take another commercial break.

We return with Rollins clinching the sleeper hold. Action from the commercial break shows Ambrose and Reigns getting some dirty offense in on the outside. Kane fighting out with an uppercut. Rollins cornered and he hits a charging Kane with a drop toehold into the turnbuckle. Facebuster into the corner earns Rollins a nearfall.

Rollins stomping Kane into the mat. An uppercut counter lands for Kane off a Rollins flying attack. Kane with a back bodydrop. Rollins in the corner and Kane follows with a clothesline and powerslam combo for a nearfall.

Kane again heads up top. No distraction this time gets Kane a flying clothesline. Chokeslam attempt is fought off by Rollins. Enzuigiri from the apron allows Rollins to go up top and he gets caught in another attempt, but he rolls out for a sunset flip. Kane grasps the throat again and Reigns hits the apron. Rollins tossed into Reigns, sending him flying into the announce table. Chokeslam converts, but Ambrose breaks the pin.

Winner by disqualification: Kane

Ambrose pummeling Kane, but Kane catches him in a choke. Reigns is soon there with a brutal spear. The group gets a few licks in before setting up their signature powerbomb.

The Usos rush the ring and even the odds. The group fights off The Shield and sends them packing. The Shield makes their way through the audience as the group in the ring bucks and celebrates.

Video package shows the Raw six-man tag between Team Hell No & John Cena vs. The Shield.

Match Two: Sin Cara vs. Wade Barrett

The returning Sin Cara muscled into the corner and put down with strikes from WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett to start. Neckbreaker from Barrett garners a nearfall.

Barrett muscles Sin Cara to the top and lays him flat on his stomach. Running knee to the abdominal area gets Barrett another nearfall. Barrett chokes Sin Cara on the ropes, then ties him up. Collar-elbow tie and knees follow. Big boot sends Sin Cara crashing to the floor. Barrett follows the hurting Sin Cara outside. Sin Cara sent into the apron and Barrett gets yet another nearfall on the inside.

All Barrett at the moment, prompting him to further wear Sin Cara down with a sleeper. Sin Cara with body shots, but Barrett sends him into the corner. Barrett runs into a mule kick to the sternum. Leg kicks from Sin Cara leads to a springboard back elbow. Springboard crossbody from the luchador earns a nearfall.

Sin Cara moves to the apron and lands an enzuigiri, Springboard missile dropkick to the back of Barrett. Another nearfall for Sin Cara. Sin Cara up top, but Barrett ducks his flying attack to land the Winds of Change for a nearfall.

Barrett clubbing the back, then powerbombs Sin Cara into the corner. Barrett tries for a powerbomb in the center of the ring, but Sin Cara with a hurricanrana. Leg hooked off of the move.

Winner by pinfall: Sin Cara

Match Three: Cody Rhodes vs. Justin Gabriel

Lockup leads to Justin Gabriel grabbing an arm wrench. Cody Rhodes with a forearm counter and a chop. Gabriel smashes Rhodes into the corner and lands a chop of his own. Rhodes to the apron and Gabriel gets a suplex to bring him back in. Hip tosses are countered by both men. Gabriel tries a legsweep, but Rhodes grabs a swinging neckbreaker for a nearfall.

Suplex off of a hotshot from Rhodes earns a nearfall. Neck crank in for Rhodes, but Gabriel with a jawbreaker counter. Educated feet from Gabriel send Rhodes down off of a spinning back kick to the head. Rhodes off the ropes and he eats a spinning heel kick. Powerbomb from Gabriel gets another nearfall.

Springboard moonsault from Gabriel on the downed Rhodes gets a nearfall. Counter almost gets Rhodes his Cross Rhodes finisher, but Gabriel gets out with a knee. Small package gets Gabriel a nearfall.

Alabama Slam almost puts Gabriel away for Rhodes. Cross Rhodes lands as Rhodes picks Gabriel up

Winner by pinfall: Cody Rhodes

The show closes with things getting a little heated between Rhodes and his Extreme Rules opponent The Miz.
