WWE Main Event: Cesaro looks to continue run against Orton

As of late, Wednesday nights have belonged to Antonio Cesaro. Last week, he put on a classic match in a losing effort against WWE United States Champion Kofi Kingston. Tonight on WWE Main Event, Cesaro looks to defeat Randy Orton. All that and more on this week's edition of WWE Main Event!

We are on tape from Raleigh, N.C. Michael Cole and John Bradshaw Layfield have the call for this week.

Match One: Randy Orton vs. Antonio Cesaro

The two lockup to start. Both men jockeying for position, but neither man getting a definitive advantage. Antonio Cesaro with a side headlock takeover, but Randy Orton grabs a headscissors choke. Cesaro bridges out and grabs a front headlock. Orton grabs one of his own, but Cesaro ducks out and the match resets. Shoulder bump from Cesaro. Cesaro off the ropes, but Orton gets a back elbow. Orton working each appendage with a stomp. Knee drop gets Orton a brief nearfall. Snap suplex from Orton gets another nearfall.

Cesaro drives an overzealous Orton into the corner. Cesaro places Orton up top. Orton fights back and wobbles Cesaro with a punch. Cesaro clubs Orton to the floor in frustration, taking us to a break in the action.

We return with Cesaro holding Orton in a sleeper. Orton fights out and runs off the rope, but Cesaro meets him with a running knee to the abdomen for a nearfall. The fallen Orton is stalked into the corner, where Cesaro cracks away with body shots. Double stomp to the chest gets Cesaro a nearfall. Cesaro with the Karelin Lift for another nearfall.

Stumbling into the corner, Cesaro nails him with a running European Uppercut for another nearfall. Orton is sent outside and Cesaro moves to the apron. Flying axhandle smash to the back is followed by Cesaro dropping Orton onto the apron. Cesaro back inside and Orton barely makes the count, only to get covered for a Cesaro nearfall.

Sleeper hold is again locked in the middle of the squared circle for Cesaro. Orton turns out and breaks the clinch with a European Uppercut. Both men exchange the strike, only for Orton to get a few clotheslines and his signature powerslam. Cesaro moves to the apron and Orton tries his rope-assisted DDT. Back drop puts Orton on the apron and Cesaro hits a hangman's neckbreaker. Cesaro attempting a German Suplex, but Orton elbows him to the floor. Orton tries a splash from the apron, but he is given a bitter introduction to the barricade as we hit the break.

Cesaro wraps the left arm of Orton around the ring post as we return. Cesaro up top, but he comes down into a dropkick from Orton. Orton capitalizes with a nearfall. Both men up and Orton hits his signature backbreaker for another nearfall.

Orton off the ropes, but Cesaro with a scoop driver. Orton seats him up top, but Cesaro puts him down with strikes. Orton fights back up to land a running boot to the head of Cesaro and joins him up top to land a superplex. Orton again only gets a nearfall. Cesaro drops Orton for a nearfall of his own.

Cesaro locks in an armbar on the right arm, trying to damage both limbs of Orton. Orton inches his way to the ropes and gets there. Cesaro unleashing body punches, but he gets overzealous and Orton hits his rope-assisted DDT. Orton poised and ready, but Cesaro pushes him off the ropes to press him in the air. Swiss Death uppercut lands only for a nearfall.

Cesaro frustrated and tries to pick up Orton for a Neutralizer. Orton turns around and strikes with an RKO.

Winner by pinfall: Randy Orton

Raw Rebound shows the building tensions between WWE Champion John Cena and Ryback on the road to their showdown at Extreme Rules.

Match Two: 3MB vs. Justin Gabriel & The Usos

Jinder Mahal starts things with Jey Uso. Jey gets the back, but Mahal elbows out and slams the head of his opposition into the turnbuckle. Jey eats the blows and fights out with some showmanship.

Justin Gabriel in with an axhandle smash to the arm of Mahal. Gabriel working the left arm with an arm wrench and strikes to the elbow joint.

Jimmy Uso is brought in with another axhandle smash to the arm, but Mahal with a punch and Drew McIntyre is brought in. McIntyre with a side headlock and a shoulder block. The two exchange failed hip toss attempts, but Jimmy Uso gets the clothesline for a nearfall.

Mahal back in, but he is put down with a scoop slam. Jey Uso legal again. Backbreaker from Jimmy and a guillotine punch on the draped head of Mahal from Jey. Jey working the left arm in an arm lock. Mahal manages to shove him out and Slater pulls down the top rope to send Jey tumbling to the floor as we break.

We return with McIntyre and Mahal teaming up on Jey Uso. Mahal working the can opener neck crank and gets a big boot to the face of Jey for a nearfall.

Heath Slater brought in for the first time. Slater using some slick boxing jabs and a straight right hand to put Jey down on the mat. Slater locking in the sleeper hold. Jey laying on his side on the mat, but he fights his way up and out of the hold. Rollup from Jey gets a nearfall.

Slater catches Jey coming in with a scissor kick for a nearfall. Slater locking in the front headlock. Jey fighting out with body shots, but Slater clubs the back. Jey scoots out of a scoop slam and sends Slater into the ring post on his shoulder. Both men looking worn here.

Tags made bring in Jimmy Uso and Drew McIntyre. Jimmy coming in and cleaning house with kicks and strikes. Samoan Drop and McIntyre scoots into the corner. Running butt splash from Jimmy earns a nearfall.

Jawbreaker from McIntyre springs Jimmy into his own corner, prompting a Justin Gabriel tag. Springboard crossbody for Gabriel and he konocks Mahal off the apron. Spinning wheel kick and springboard moonsault on McIntyre earn Gabriel the nearfall.

3MB has had enough and decides to walk out. Gabriel isn't thrilled with this and does a plancha, but is caught by the group. Jimmy Uso in the ring and he helps out with a suicide dive to knock the group over.

Gabriel drags McIntyre into the ring for a nearfall that is broken up by Mahal. Mahal sends Gabriel to the floor. Jimmy Uso with a superkick to Mahal. Slater with a Smash Hit to Jimmy. Jey Uso with a superkick to Slater. McIntyre with a running kick to Jey Uso. Gabriel back in with a tilt-a-whirl DDT and he is up top. 450 Splash converts.

Winners by pinfall: Justin Gabriel & The Usos

Show closes with the winning team celebrating in the ring.
