WWE Main Event: Miz in double trouble against Prime Time Players

The Miz has big plans for Sunday's Wrestlemania event. There, he will finally get a chance to take away the WWE Intercontinental Champion from the latest thorn in his side, Wade Barrett. Tonight on WWE Main Event, The Miz faces a huge challenge in the form of both members of The Prime Time Players. All that and more on this week's edition of WWE Main Event!

We are on tape from Washington D.C. Michael Cole and John Bradshaw Layfield have the call.

Prior to the match, WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett makes his presence felt. He says that he is simply here to join the announce crew and to enjoy The Miz getting beaten down prior to their match at Wrestlemania.

Match One: The Miz vs. The Prime Time Players

The Miz starts with Darren Young. Lockup and Miz gets a side headlock takeover. Miz holding the submission, but Young gets out and hits a shoulder block. The Miz turns the tide with a shoulder block of his own and an atomic drop. Figure-Four Leglock attempt gains nothing as Young escapes to the outside. The team regroups as we break.

We return with The Miz in the ring against Titus O'Neil. O'Neil trying to use power to keep Miz down, but Miz proving to be too quick. O'Neil hits a huge shoulder block to gain control. Right hand from O'Neil. Miz wiggles out of a slam attempt and unloads strikes to O'Neil. Miz can't get O'Neil down on a sunset flip attemot and O'Neil starches him with an uppercut.

Scoop slam from O'Neil brings in Young. Young immediately on the offensive, grabbing the sleeper. The Miz manages to fight it off and land a suplex. Young worked into the corner and The Miz mounts Young for ten punches. Miz pulls Young into a clothesline for a nearfall.

Miz sends Young off the ropes, but a bodydrop attempt is too early and Young with a boot to the face. Young with an elbow drop before bringing in O'Neil. Elbow drop from O'Neil leads to him choking Miz on the second rope. Young back in, but The Miz lands a running knee to the stomach. Miz off the ropes and a running boot gets him a nearfall.

Young is sent outside by Miz. Titus O'Neil meets him outside to help him back in as the referee's count nears ten. The Miz with a tie-up, unloading knees to the stomach of Young. Young gets control, but Miz ends that brief spurt with a dropkick to the knee. Figure-Four attempt, but Young kicks Miz into O'Neil, who is sent to the apron via a Miz punch. Miz with his signature neckbreaker into backbreaker combo for a nearfall as we break once again.

We return with Titus O'Neil clobbering Miz with a shoulder block for a nearfall. O'Neil brings Miz to his feet to lock in an abdominal stretch. The Miz elbows his way out and goes off the ropes, but O'Neil grabs him off the crossbody. Backbreaaker into fallaway slam gets O'Neil a nearfall.

Young is in and leg drops to The Miz earn him a nearfall. Young snatches the sleeper yet again. Miz wilting, but he fights his way out. Young works Miz into the corner, but Miz gets the boot up to catch Young coming in. This is all ended by a huge running clothesline from Young for a nearfall.

Titus O'Neil in and he front suplexes his partner on top of Miz for a nearfall. Miz crawls his way to the corner, but O'Neil lands a huge splash for another nearfall. The Miz again inching towards the corner. O'Neil in the three-point stance, but he is greeted by the turnbuckles.

Young is brought in, but Miz ducks his attacks to land a running knee lift and a big boot. Signature corner clothesline from The Miz on Young. O'Neil is kicked off the apron by Miz. Miz up top and he lands an axhandle smash for a nearfall.

Young taking brief control before The Miz fights out of his attempted Gut Check finisher. The Miz plants him with a DDT for a nearfall that is broken up by O'Neil. O'Neil charges a downed Miz, who pulls down the top rope to send the big man tumbling to the floor. Northern Lights suplex from Young gets him a nearfall. The Miz up with a boot to the stomach and he heads off the ropes, but he gets tripped by O'Neil. Young sneaks up on the distracted Miz for another nearfall.

The Miz ducks Young's clothesline attempt and heads off the ropes to land a dropkick on the outside to O'Neil. O'Neil out of commission and The Miz ducks under Young's legs to get into the ring from the apron. Double leg leads to a Figure-Four Leglock.

Winner by submission: The Miz

Matt Striker is joined by Big Show. Striker asks Show what has prompted him to turn over a new leaf. Show says that it is ridiculous to think he has turned over a new leaf, as he needs to be at his cruelest come Wrestlemania. This is about payback against The Shield. Show promises to teach the group a lesson on Sunday.

The show ends with a video package hyping Wrestlemania's main event, WWE Champion The Rock vs. John Cena with the gold on the line.
