WWE Main Event: R-Truth dukes it out against Wade Barrett

R-Truth just recently returned from injury and he is making up for lost time, immediately going after WWE Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett. Tonight on WWE Main Event, the men clash inside the ring. While Barrett's title is not on the line, this bout could have major implications for R-Truth. Should he win, it will be a major upset upon coming off a lengthy injury to his knee. All of that and more on this week's edition of WWE Main Event!

We are on tape from Cincinnati, Ohio. Michael Cole and The Miz have the call this week.

Match One: R-Truth vs. Wade Barrett

Wade Bsrrett opens up with a kick to the midsection. Elbow to the back of the head of Truth. Truth fights back with some strikes and a dropkick for a nearfall. Barrett charges Truth, but Truth ducks and sends Barrett outside off a clothesline. Barrett frustrated, Action moves back inside and Truth lands a drop toehold. Barrett turns the tide with powerful strikes, but Truth hits an arm drag and a strike to the abdomen that sends Barrett outside. Truth follows, but Barrett trips him up on the apron. Barrett with a bit of offense before gaining a nearfall inside.

Barrett maintaining control with strikes for a nearfall. Barrett chokes Truth on the second rope and tangles him in between the ropes. Collar-tie clinch and Barrett unloads knees to the midsection. Big boot follows and Truth is sent outside the hard way as we hit a break.

We return with Barrett getting a nearfall. Sleeper hold locked in for Barrett after an elbow drop. Truth fights to his feet and is sent into the corner. Truth gets his boots up as Barrett charges, proceeding to unleash a few clotheslines. Hurricanrana and DDT put Barrett down for a nearfall..Truth misses a scissors kick and Barrett gets rolled up on a Wasteland attempt for a Truth nearfall. Big boot from Barrett gets him a nearfall.

Both men down after that exchange. Barrett puts Truth on his shoulders, but Truth slips out and hits a Russian legsweep for a nearfall. Barrett outside and Truth looks to follow, but Barrett hits a strike to the throat of Truth. Elbow pad is down and Barrett rushes inside to land a nasty Bullhammer elbow.

Winner by pinfall: Wade Barrett

Post-match, Barrett has a microphone. Barrett describes the match as "trench warfare" and says that all will be victimized by the Bullhammer. Barrett reminds the crowd of his recent wins, including The Miz. Barrett approaches the announce table and pushes Miz, leading Miz to start a brawl. Barrett is able to escape without any real damage.

Raw contract signing between Brock Lesnar and Triple H gets a recap.

Big Show aiming to replacing Ryback to team with Randy Orton and Sheamus against The Shield on Raw is recapped as well.

Sheamus backstage with Matt Striker. Striker wants his thoughts on his potential tag partner at Wrestlemania. Sheamus says that Show presents a bevvy of physical tools that could help, but he is shady to say the least. Sheamus is not convinced that he wants him on his team.

Prior to their match, Alicia Fox talks about her and Natalya's trip to Rwanda, describing the experience as touching. Fox says she took a lot from this experience, as all Natalya talked about was her boyfriend, The Great Khali. Natalya doesn't take kindly to this slander and wants to start the action a little early.

Match Two: Aksana & Alicia Fox vs. Natalya & Layla

Aksana and Natalya start off. Headlock takeover from Natalya and Aksana gets out with leg scissors. Aksana grabs the hair, but Natalya counters into an arm drag. Layla tagged in and lands a clothesline. Jackknife cover grabs Layla a nearfall. Layla off the ropes and unique rollup for another nearfall.

Layla toying with Aksana before giving her a spank and a bump with her derriere to the face. Alicia Fox with a cheap shot from the apron to give Aksana some control in the match. Aksana with a triangle choke on the head of Layla before slamming her head into the mat with her legs. Alicia Fox working Layla over in the corner. Snapmare into a sleeper from Fox. Layla ducks a kick and Fox is doing the splits without notice, giving Layla time to recover.

Natalya is brought in and pummels Fox with clotheslines, arm drags, hip tosses, and everything but the kitchen sink. Fox cornered and does the splits to avoid a rush from Natalya, but her rollup is turned into a Sharpshooter attempt. Fox gets out, but she is flattened by a discus forearm. Aksana in illegally to break the pin and Layla meets her to land a kick to the head. Fox goes after Layla, so Natalya uses this to trip her up and lock in the Sharpshooter.

Winners by submission: Natalya and Layla

The continuing psychological warfare between CM Punk and Undertaker from Raw is recapped.

Match Three: The Prime Time Players vs. The Usos

Darren Young starts off with Jey Uso. Lockup and Young grabs a side headlock. Arm wrench from Young and he is working submission holds. Shoulder block from Young, but Jey lands an uppercut. Chop to the chest and Jimmy Uso in with a huge clothesline for a nearfall. Chop to the chest and Young tries some dirty offense, but Jimmy maintains control. Jey is brought in and lands a diving headbutt for an earfall.

Jey locking in the armbar. Young struggles, but fights out before hs is again isolated in the enemy corner. Jimmy in with an axhandle smash to the arm. Saito suplex for a nearfall. Jey in and a double-team prompts Titus O'Neil to illegally come in, but he almost receives two kicks to the face before falling back. The Usos controlling as we break.

Titus O'Neil in control of Jimmy Uso as we return. Snapmare leads to a missed elbow drop and Jimmy tags out to his brother. Jey chopping the chest of O'Neil in the corner. O'Neil hip tosses Jey into the corner hard and Jey rolls outside. O'Neil brings it back inside for a nearfall. Pumphandle slam from O'Neil and Darren Young is brought back in. O'Neil with a suplex on his partner on top of Jey for a nearfall.

Young working Jey over in the corner and locks in a bearhug. O'Neil back in with a backbreaker for a nearfall. O'Neil with more power offense, stomping and striking away. Jey sent hard into the corner by O'Neil. O'Neil grinding the boot into the throat of Jey. European uppercut prompts Jey to fight back. O'Neil grabs him for a fallaway slam, but Jey lands on his feet. It is all for nothing as O'Neil plows him with a clothesline for a nearfall.

Bearhug in for O'Neil, followed by a shoulder block. O'Neil misses a corner splash and Jey hits a bodydrop. Jimmy and Young brought in. Clotheslines for Jimmy Uso, followed by a corkscrew elbow. Side kick leads to a full-nelson slam. Butt splash in the corner gets Jimmy a nearfall that is broken by O'Neil. Jey with a boot to O'Neil that sends him out. Samoan drop from Jimmy followed by a Superfly Splash from Jey.

Winners by pinfall: The Usos

Show closes with The Usos standing victorious.
