Smackdown!: Orton, Sheamus tab Ryback to take on The Shield
By DALE PLUMMER -- SLAM! Wrestling

Wrestlemania is less than a month away and the top of the card is starting to shape up nicely. Hopefully the rest of the card will come into focus tonight, and I don't mean Ryback versus Mark Henry, either.

JBL is still off scaling mountains, so Michael Cole and Josh Matthews call the action from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Unfortunately Brad Maddox is also at the announce table.

Match #1 Sheamus and Randy Orton vs. Rhodes Scholars

As the Rhodes Scholars walk to the ring, Damien Sandow calls what happened on Monday Night an abomination. They had a sure win taken from them and then thrown into a much they were not prepared for. Rhodes stops Sandow and blames Sheamus and Orton for ruining their date with the Bellas last week.

Sheamus takes Rhodes to the mat with a head lock and follows with shoulder block. Sandow gets the tag and Sheamus knocks him to the mat. Sandow fights back, pummeling Sheamus in the corner. The Celtic warrior fight out and connects with a high knee. Sandow escapes the ring and Sheamus follows. On the outside, Rhodes jumps off the announce table and connects with a Disaster Kick to Sheamus. We then go to commercial.

After the break, Rhodes is in control of Sheamus; cutting him off from making the tag to Orton. Sandow and Rhodes exchange quick tags to keep Sheamus off balance. Sandow kicks the Irishman in corner, but then runs into a boot. Sheamus flies off the top rope connecting with an elbow. Orton gets the hot tag; taking it to Rhodes with a power slam and a T-Bone suplex. The Viper takes Rhodes to the ropes and hits the elevated DDT. Sandow tries to interfere, but Sheamus takes him down with a Brogue Kick. Orton hits the RKO on Rhodes and gets the pin.

Winner via pinfall: Sheamus and Randy Orton (I refuse to call them #CelticVipers)

Immediately after the bell, The Shield's music hits, but they don't hit the ring. All three men deliver a message via the Titantron, stating that it's a injustice that they don't have a match a Wrestlemania. They tell Sheamus and Orton to find a partner, any partner, to face them at Wrestlemania.

If you missed it on RAW, you get another chance to see Kane and Halle Berry have a really awkward moment to promote the WWE film, The Call , that opens tonight.

A vignette for Fandango? We know who he is, we just don't know if he can wrestle.

Cole and Matthews recap Brock Lesnar's challenge to Triple H on RAW.

Looks like Orton and Sheamus have all ready decided on their partner, but Big Show wants to offers his services, because he can be ruthless. Orton likes the idea of a ruthless partner, which is why they have chosen Ryback.

Match #2 Layla and Kaitlyn vs. Tamina Snuka and Aksana

For some reason, Naomi and Cameron are watching this match backstage. Layla makes a blind tag after Kaitlyn hit Aksana with a spear. Layla hits a flying cross body and covers Aksana to get the pin.

Winner via pinfall: Layla and Kaitlyn

The Bellas get in the faces of Naomi and Cameron and then jump them.

Another RAW Rebound, but this one is official, it's sponsored and everything. CM Punk crashed Undertaker's tribute to Paul Bearer, you know what just go back and read Nick Tylwalk's recap from Monday night.

Match #3 Kane w/ Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler w/ AJ Lee and Big E Langston

Kane knees Ziggler into the corner and sends him to the mat with an uppercut. Ziggler is knocked to the outside and Kane follows. The Show Off gets back in the ring, and tries to cut Kane off on apron. Ziggler is unsuccessful and eats a big boot for his trouble. Ziggler starts to mount some offense, landing on the apron after a back body drop. Ziggler knocks Kane down with a flying drop kick and keeps him grounded with a series of elbows. Ziggler hits a DDT but cannot get the pin.

Kane whips Ziggler from corner to corner and looks for side slam. Ziggler counters into a sleeper hold. Kane breaks free, but then runs into a boot. Ziggler flies off the top turnbuckle, but Kane catches him with an uppercut. Kane goes to the top and connects with a flying clothesline. AJ leaps on the apron, distracting Kane, as Bryan attacks Langston. Big E fights Bryan off, but then turns right into a boot from Kane. Ziggler hit Kane with the Zig Zag as he re-enters the ring and gets the pin.

Winner via pinfall: Dolph Ziggler

After the bell, Ziggler gets caught running his mouth to Kane, but Big E Langston runs in to make the save.

Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez made another parody video. This time they have Swagger and Colter blame Canadians for America's problems. Remember it's just a joke, but maple syrup is delicious. Chris Jericho thought it was funny, but Swagger isn't amused. In fact, Swagger tells Jericho he is no better than Del Rio. Jericho says he should worry about Wrestlemania, not politics.

Match #4 Fandango vs. The Great Khali

Once again, Fandango doesn't even compete. This time he is offended by Khali and Natalya dancing in the ring. He asks Khali to pronounce his name, and that goes as well as can be expected.

The Rock. John Cena. This time it's personal, wait, no, this time it's business. Remember kids, this only happens twice in a lifetime; maybe three times if they can make money off it.

Matt Stryker announce that Booker T has just made the Sheamus, Orton, Ryback match against The Shield official, when The Shield attacks. They lay out Orton and Sheamus backstage before getting chased off by officials.

After the break, Sheamus and Orton are still being attended to. Booker T tells Ryback just to worry about his match with Mark Henry.

Match #5 Mark Henry vs. Ryback

Ryback and Henry lock up and push each other around, when The Shield hits the ring. Mark Henry clears out of the ring, but Ryback is able to fight off all three men. Henry acts like he's returning to the ring, allowing The Shield to take down Ryback with Triple Powerbomb. Henry finally returns to the ring to finish Ryback off with The World's Strongest Slam, twice.

No Contest

Match #6 Jack Swagger w/ Zeb Colter vs. Chris Jericho

Swagger and Jericho lock up and have a good old fashioned wrestling match, until Swagger forces Jericho into the corner. Swagger decks Jericho, who chops his way out of the corner. Swagger finds his way to t apron and Jericho knocks him off with a spring board drop kick. And we go to break.

After the break, Swagger is in control with submission in the middle of the ring. Jericho powers out with a suplex. Swagger applies a headlock and then hits a high elbow. Jericho responds with a shoulder block and follows with a bulldog. Jericho misses the lionsault, but is able to block the Swagger Bomb. Swagger avoids the walls of Jericho, but connects with an enziguri. Swagger kicks out at two. Jericho is whipped into the corner and Swagger cuts his down at the knees. Swagger clothesline Jericho in the corner, but Jericho responds with a DDT. Swaggers counters the Code Breaker, but cannot get Jericho in position for a Gut Wrench Powerbomb. Jericho tries for the wall, which is countered in the Ankle Lock, but Jericho reverses into the Walls. Colter climbs the ring steps, giving Swagger an opening to escape. Jericho climbs the turnbuckle and gets a lateral press off a cross body, but Swagger kicks out. Swagger counters another Code Breaker and is able to hit the Gut Wrench Powerbomb. Swagger covers and gets the pin.

Winner via pinfall: Jack Swagger
