Online reaction to passing of Paul Bearer / Percy Pringle III

In this age of social media, reaction to the passing of Bill Moody -- a.k.a. Paul Bearer and Percy Pringle III -- was immediate.

Some of the select postings from Facebook:

Jerry W. Jarrett:
A prince has truly fallen. There are few men (right now I can't think of another) that I never heard a single bad thing about. The passing of Percy gives me mixed emotions. Percy loved life so much and for that I'm sad he is gone. Percy loved his wife as much as any man can and for that I'm happy that he is joining her. Percy and I worked together during my days at the old Sportatorium in Dallas, during my days in Memphis and during my days at WWF and TNA. He was not only a great performer, but always a gentleman. Percy always had a nice comment if I posted something about my grandchildren or a well wish about some business deal. Yes, a true prince has fallen.

Edward H Leslie, a.k.a. Brutus Beefcake:
Paul Bearer has passed away may God rest his soul. He was a great man and will be missed. Sending prayers to his family.

Bushwhacker Luke Williams:
Percy, you were one of the best in and out of the squared circle and a great loss to our industry. We all loved you mate. My prayers go out to you and your surrounding family. RIP Paul Bearer.

Les Thatcher:
I woke this morning to the shock that one of my dearest friends had passed. Bill Moody/Paul Bearer gave so much to our industry, and those of us that were lucky enough to be touched by his friendship are better for it. God bless you my friend and know that you will be remembered with love and respect.

David Marquez, promoter of Championship Wrestling from Hollywood who had been bringing in Percy as a manager recently:
Its with heavy heart that I report that my friend William Moody AKA Paul Bearer has passed as confirmed by World Wrestling Entertainment. I have lost many people in this profession in the last two decades, but this one leaves me speechless. All my best to Michael Moody and family. We've lost a good one! Good bye friend.

Superstar Billy Graham:
Very sad to hear of the loss of my friend William Moody, better known to wrestling fans as Paul Bearer. He was one of the people who gave wrestling a higher level of dignity with his presence, sad loss, very nice man and will be missed. Billy

Brian Heffron, a.k.a. The Blue Meanie:
I'm deeply saddened & very heartbroken to hear the William Moody (Paul Bearer) has passed. This one hurts folks. Thank you for being a friend! This one hurts folks. :(

Mickie Henson, a.k.a. referee Mickey Jay:
In total shock over the news of the passing of William Moody aka Percy Pringle/ Paul Bearer. One of the most unique people in the wrestling business, and a great person and friend. I will miss our conversations, and I will miss you old friend. Rest in peace, your worries and struggles are over. Gods speed..................

Adam Pearce:
You were a Hall of Famer. You were a legend. You were a mentor. Most importantly, you were my friend. I love you and I miss you. Godspeed.

Rory McAlister, a.k.a. Highlander Rory McAllister:
Just learned of the passing of Paul Bearer. This one truly saddens me. I've had the pleasure of working with Paul in WWE and also for him down in mobile Alabama where he brought me in to teach at his school. He was a very genuine and nice man and he will be greatly missed. To his family and friends, I am very sorry for your loss. He's with his love now.

Black Bart:
In my time he went by the name Percy Pringle. The man I knew was a very good guy. Never had a bad word for anyone. Kindness was his middle name. Didn't indulge in the addictions that were so rampant. He was my manager for 5 years. We travelled everywhere together and I feel proud to call him Brother. Although he is probably happier there with his beloved wife, we will miss him dearly here. Love Ya Percy!!!

Dennis Brent, publisher of World Class programs and more:
Percy as long time manager of Ravishing Rick Rude. Percy was the one who opened the door for me to get in the business, telling Fritz that I can produce the weekly programs at a better price than the old school print shop, using my early Macintosh, Pagemaker and the new Apple laser printer.

Jacqueline Moore:
I just heard some sad news that my friend William Moody a.k.a Paul Bearer passed away. He was a good and dear friend of mine. He was always supportive of me from the very start of my wrestling career. I will miss you my friend. R.I.P Paul Bearer

Bill Colville, security for World Class Championship Wrestling:
I woke up this morning to find another of the legends from World Class Championship Wrestling has left us. William Moody, aka Percy Pringle III aka Paul Bearer. Percy was a true Star in every sense of the word and I'm proud to say my friend. Percy was the back bone of his family, a proud father and doting Grandfather and will be missed by all he came in contact with. If there is any consolation, it's that his broken heart over losing his beloved Dianna is now healed, they are together again. Rest in peace my friend.

Howard Brody, promoter:
Couldn't sleep last night and so I did what most people did, I came on here only to learn the devastating news of the passing of William Moody, aka Paul Bearer, aka Percy Pringle. He was truly one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. Although I had been introduced to him by Jim Cornette years ago while he was with WWE, he didn't remember that, but ur mutual friend Char Fuertes re-introduced us in Atlanta. I saw him again at last year's CAC where the photo of us together was taken. RIP my friend ... G-d speed ...

Tom Prichard:
RIP Percy. All the good guys are leaving. But I know you're in a better place and seeing a lot of people we love...

"Wild Samoan" Afa Anoai:
One of the most humble men I've ever had the opportunity to meet. Truely a legend!! Sad day! Percy Pringle RIP
