WWE NXT: HBK kicks off tag title tournament
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels is in the house to kick off a tournament to crowd the first ever NXT Tag Team Champions. We get two tournament matches on this show, plus NXT Champion Big E Langston is in action. Should be a good one!

And we are TAPED! from Orlando, Fla. Tony Dawson and William Regal are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Shawn Michaels is here at the NXT Arena. He officially announces the creation of the NXT Tag Team Championship.

Match #1 - NXT Tag Team Championship Tournament - Luke Harper & Erick Rowan (Parts Unknown) vs. Yoshi Tatsu (Tokyo, Japan) & Percy Watson (Miami, Fla.)

Watson and Tatsu get off to a good start on Rowan. Tatsu tries to chop down Rowan and use his speed against the bigger competitor, but Rowan catches Tatsu on a crossbody attempt and slams him down. He brings in Harper. He controls Tatsu's head and Tatsu hits a jawbreaker but it doesn't hurt Rowan as anticipated.

Finally, Tatsu is able to use his speed and bring in Watson. He goes to work on Harper and hits a big modified uranage, but Rowan breaks up the fall. Tatsu charges him and they spill to the outside. After that, Harper puts Watson down with one shot and that does it.

Winners via pinfall: The Wyatt Family

Dusty Rhodes is backstage with Derrick Bateman and Alex Riley. He books them against Kassius Ohno and Leo Kruger next week in the tag tournament. Corey Graves comes up and he's upset about not getting his rematch for the NXT Championship and not being in the tournament. Riley steps in and tells Graves if he wants to get froggy, jump. Graves doesn't. Riley and Bateman take off. Rhodes says nobody wanted to be Graves' partner, not even Jake Carter. So Rhodes decides to book Graves against Carter tonight.

Match #2 - Alicia Fox (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) vs. Sasha Banks (Boston, Mass.)

Banks with a very hot start, sending Fox flying with a head scissors takeover and a nice dropkick. But the momentum is short lived as Fox takes over. Banks gets going briefly, but Fox drops her right on her face. She goes to lift her for a move, but Banks rolls it through into a small package for the win.

Winner via pinfall: Sasha Banks

Renee Paquette is up with an interview with Aksana. I couldn't quite understand it.

Match #3 - Jake Carter (Denver, Colo.) vs. Corey Graves (Pittsburgh, Pa.)

Former tag team partners collide her.

Carter getting the better of things early. He misses a corner charge and Graves comes out and hits a huge chop block and follows that with his ankle lock submission. Carter tries to hold off and get to the ropes, but Graves is able to stop him from doing so and Carter has no choice but to tap out.

Winner via submission: Corey Graves

Graves has a mic and says if he can't be in the tournament, he's declaring anarchy on NXT. And he has a message for Alex Riley: The next time the two meet, Riley's going to do what everyone else does and that's stay down.

Match #4 - NXT Tag Team Championship Tournament - Heath Slater (Pineville, W.Va.) & Drew McIntyre (Nashville, Scotland) vs. Adrian Neville (Newcastle, England) & Oliver Grey (Devon, England)

McIntyre ground Neville, but Neville keeps hitting athletic moves that frustrates McIntyre. Slater in now and Neville brings in Grey, who works a wristlock. Grey sends Slater to the outside where McIntyre is. He slides between them. McIntyre loads up for a shot but Grey ducks it and McIntyre hits Slater. Now Neville hits the ropes and comes flying over and wipes McIntyre out with a big flip dive.

Slater in control on Grey as we return. He and McIntyre are all over Grey here, but he is resilient and finally brings in Neville. He is moving fast on McIntyre. He goes some flips but gets hit in the corner by McIntyre. But he drops McIntyre with a kick, knocks Slater down and then hits the twisting corkscrew splash and that is all she wrote.

Winners via pinfall: Adrian Neville & Oliver Grey

Match #5 - Axel Keegan (Framingham, Mass.) vs. Big E Langston (Tampa, Fla.)

Well, I wouldn't expect this one to last very long. Keegan tries to go on the offensive, but that doesn't work well. Langston hits a big pounce and then the Big Ending and that's it.

Winner via pinfall: Big E Langston

He goes to lift Keegan up for the Big Ending again when Conor O'Brian comes up on the screen. He says he hopes Langston is present in two weeks for the awakening and will show him what he thinks of the five count. He laughs menacingly and goes off the screen. Langston delivers the Big Ending, counts to five and there you have it.

Crowd chants "Five!" and "one more time!" So Langston delivers.
