WWE NXT: Langston beats Rollins, wins title
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

This week on WWE NXT: Seth Rollins survived the challenge of Corey Graves last week with the help of The Shield, but this week, he might not be as lucky. Commissioner Dusty Rhodes has booked Rollins to face Big E Langston in a no holds barred match for the NXT Championship. Should be a good one!

And we are TAPED! from Orlando, Fla. Tom Phillips and William Regal are our hosts.

Match #1 - Yoshi Tatsu (Japan) & Percy Watson (Miami, Fla.) vs. Luke Harper & Eric Rowan

I don't expect a good night for Tatsu and Watson tonight against the Wyatt Family.

This is all Wyatt Family early on, as they have Watson isolated in their corner and are beating the tar out of him. Big slam for Rowan. Harper back in and he clubs Watson over the head and works a front headlock. Watson works to a vertical base and breaks the hold with a chin-breaker. He hits a kick and is able to bring in Tatsu. Tatsu goes and lands his kicks and then a knee to the face but Rowan breaks up the cover.

Watson comes in and battles Rowan only to run right into a big boot from Harper. Tatsu hits Harper with the head kick and goes to the top for the finish but misses. Harper comes back and hits a huge avalache and finishes Tatsu with a giant lariat.

Winners via pinfall: The Wyatt Family

Match #2 - Emma (Melbourne, Australia) vs. Paige (Norwich, England)

Emma gets off to a nice start and plants the undefeated Paige with a dropkick. She goes to work on Paige's knee and gets a good snap on it. Emma really putting it on her here. Now she locks in a half crab that would make Lance Storm proud (of course, Storm was her trainer). Crowd chants "Let's Go Paige" and she is able to work her way out of it. And it's not too long after that she hits the Paige Turner to finish it.

Winner via pinfall: Paige

Match #3 - Primo & Epico (San Juan, Puerto Rico) vs. Michael McGillicutty (Champlin, Minn.) & Bo Dallas (Brooksville, Fla.)

Crowd clearly into the four wrestlers as they chant "We want Rosa" right off the bat, as she is not here accompying Primo and Epico here tonight.

McGillicutty really shining early. From a pure wrestling standpoint, McGillicutty wrestling either Primo or Epico should be great. And early on, it is. McGillicutty with some nice chain wrestling, including some pretty serious headlocks that actually have the crowd chanting "headlock." Now I've seen it all. Epico makes his way in and McGillicutty drags him into a headlock to a big cheer and another "headlock" chant from the crowd.

We're back and Epico is going to work on Dallas, but Dallas hits an atomic drop, but Primo provides a distraction that allows Epico to drop down and drop Dallas. Now the crowd is chanting "we want headlocks." This might be the most bizarre thing I've seen. Primo goes to work now, hitting a slingshot back splash for two. Primo might be the most underrated wrestler in the entire company. He is so smooth. It's a pleasure to watch him wrestling. Anyway, we'll travel back from opinion land here and Epico is working a chinlock on Dallas in the centre of the ring.

Dallas trying to fight back, but Primo and Epico do a great job of stifling any momentum Dallas tries to get going. Primo misses a drop kick, though, and tags McGillicutty, who comes in an absolute house of fire. He drills Primo with a lariat and then a Saito suplex. He goes for a cover but Epico breaks it up. McGillicutty clotheslines him over the top, but as he's distracted, Primo hits him with the Backstabber and gets the win.

Winners via pinfall: Primo & Epico

Match #4 - No Holds Barred Match for the NXT Championship - (c) Seth Rollins (Davenport, Iowa) vs. Big E Langston (Tampa, Fla.)

Langston displays his power to start things off, but Rollins shows off his smarts, immediately going after Langston's legs to try to get the big man down to the canvas. Langston beats Rollins down in the corner and goes for a charge, but Rollins moves and Langston's shoulder eats the post. This doesn't seem to hurt him too much, though, as he comes back seconds later and press slams Rollins over the top and to the floor.

As Langston goes to follow up, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns run down and put a hurtin' on Langston, throwing him into the steel steps.

We're back and Rollins is in control in the ring. Rollins working a leg scissors choke but Langston is able to use his strength to rise up and hit an electric chair. Two clotheslines connect for Langston and then a series of big knees to the gut. He hits the ropes and drops Rollins with a pounce and then a double clothesline for Ambrose and Reigns. He goes to lift Rollins for his finish but Ambrose and Reigns come flying back in and take him out.

They're putting the boots to him when some members of the roster come running down, but Ambrose and Reigns dispatch of them. Here comes more people, Tyson Kidd, Bo Dallas, Trent Baretta all in there. Much of the roster there now and they get Ambrose and Reigns out of there. Rollins is not pleased, but still hits Langston with a blockbuster but Langston kicks out at the last moment. The crowd loudly chanting "five!" for Langston. He goes for it again, but Langston counters right into the Big Ending. Rollins is down! The cover... 1, 2...3! New champion!

Winner via pinfall and NEW NXT Champion: Big E Langston

Langston is overwhelmed. The locker room comes back down to celebrate. The referee wraps the belt around his waist and Langston celebrates some more as we go off the air.
