WWE.com: CM Punk has knee surgery

WWE.com is reporting that WWE Champion CM Punk underwent surgery on his knee in Pensacola, Florida, today.

On Monday Night Raw, Ryback put Punk through a table, and the website claims that is where the injury took place.

According to the website, after Raw, in Greensboro, NC, Punk flew to Florida to consult with renowned sports surgeon Dr. James Andrews.

Punk, along with his manager Paul Heyman, has been hyping the remarkable length of his WWE title reign, the longest in 25 years, and the seventh longest reign of all time. An injury could derail the championship campaign.

On his Twitter account, @CMPunk, Punk has been surprisingly silent. Likewise, Heyman -- @HeymanHustle -- has not addressed the surgery.

SLAM! Wrestling will continue to follow the story.
