WWE Main Event: Bryan, Kane defend tag titles
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE Main Event: It's a big night as, for the first time, the WWE Tag Team Championships are defended for the first time on WWE's newest show as Daniel Bryan and Kane defend against Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow in a thriller. Should be a good one!

And we are TAPED! from Cleveland, Ohio. Michael Cole and The Miz are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

We go backstage for an interview with the tag team champions, Daniel Bryan and Kane, and of course they are arguing. Kane walks off and when he does, Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow attack Bryan, giving him a front suplex on a crate and attacking his ribs. Kane runs back to make the save, but the damage has been done.

We come back from a break and Cole informs us that Bryan has been medically cleared to compete tonight.

Match #1 - WWE Tag Team Championship - (c) Kane (Hell, Fire & Brimstone) & Daniel Bryan (Aberdeen, Wash.) vs. Cody Rhodes (Marietta, Ga.) & Damien Sandow (Palo Alto, Calif.)

Kane and Bryan hit the ring running and are angry. They each dump a man to the floor and we are off and running.

Kane starts the match out for Team Hell No to give Bryan a little more time to recover. Bryan gets the tag and works on Rhodes. He brings Kane back in and holds Rhodes for a Kane attack, but Rhodes slips out and Kane hits Bryan instead. Kane hits Rhodes and then Kane shoves Bryan down. Kane immediately apologizes and helps Bryan up, but Rhodes hits him from behind, sending him tumbling to the floor. Bryan and Rhodes go at it and are broken up, but behind the referee's back, Sandow sneaks to the floor and runs Kane into the ring post.

We're back and Sandow is working on Kane with a nice rear headlock. Rhodes Scholars works on isolating Kane. Tag to Rhodes and a double suplex connects. Rhodes hits a moonsault and goes to pick Kane up, but Kane grabs him by the throat. Rhodes elbows his way out and hits the ropes, but runs right into a big back body drop, one in which Rhodes doesn't get enough air and comes down very hard on his shoulder. And from being there in person, he is legitimately hurt.

Kane gets the tag to Bryan, who comes in on the injured Rhodes with kicks and then a clothesline. Bryan with a very easy pinning combination for two. Bryan goes to the top and misses the flying headbutt and this gives them the opening to get Rhodes out with a tag. Rhodes gives a feeble tag to Sandow and goes down to one knee on the apron.

Sandow throws Bryan outside and then throws him very hard into the barricade as the doctor checks on Rhodes, who is now standing on the floor leaning on the apron. Sandow goes to work with a leg scissors on Bryan in the ring.

We're back and Bryan elbows his way out of a predicament, but Sandow levels him with a knee right to the gut. Bryan, though, hits the missile dropkick and both men are down. Bryan gets the big tag to Kane and here he comes. Two corner clotheslines connect, followed by a side slam for two. Kane to the top and hits the flying clothesline. He calls for the choke slam and hits it. He tags in Bryan who hits the flying headbutt and that is all she wrote.

Winners via pinfall and STILL WWE Tag Team Champions: Daniel Bryan & Kane

Matt Striker and his mustache is there for the post-match interview. He wants to know if Bryan and Miz can bury the hatchet. Kane says Bryan's answer should be "Yes! Yes! Yes!" Miz gets up from his commentary spot and extends his hand to Bryan. Kane tells Bryan something and he starts saying "No! No!" but then looks resigned. He asks Miz for a hug and tells him to hug it out. Miz is OK not doing that and goes back to the desk.

Dolph Ziggler is backstage for an interview with Cole and Miz. Ziggler brings up how everyone on Team Foley hates each other. Ziggler goes off on Miz, but Miz responds that Ziggler talks about stealing the show, but he can't steal the World Heavyweight Championship. He's nothing but Vickie Guerrero's little puppet. He says there's many more captains more competent than Ziggler, Captain Crunch included. Ziggler says all Miz does is talk, so Miz challenges him to a match next week right here on Main Event. Ziggler accepts.

Match #2 - Santino Marella (Calabria, Italy) vs. David Otunga (Chicago, Ill.)

This match is already in progress as we return from break and Otunga is in control. Gutbuster connects for two. Otunga charges Santino but ends up eating turnbuckle. Santino hits the big hip toss, pulls out the Cobra, hits it and that's all she wrote for Mr. Harvard Law.

Winner via pinfall: Santino Marella
