Impact: Table set for Bound For Glory
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on Impact Wrestling: It's the final edition of the show before the biggest show of the year, Bound For Glory, and we find out here if Bully Ray can be trusted by Sting and Hulk Hogan, plus we get two big main events: James Storm taken on Austin Aries and Jeff Hardy facing Bobby Roode. Should be a good one!

Tonight's show emanates LIVE! from the Impact Zone in Orlando. "The Professor" Mike Tenay and The Tazz are our hosts.

Match #1 - James Storm (Leiper's Fork, Tenn.) vs. Austin Aries (Minneapolis, Minn.)

Hot start to this one as Aries hits the suicide dive in transition and goes to work on Storm in the ring. They trade some chops in the corner and Aries hits a dropkick to the back. The two duke it out in the centre of the ring. Storm wants Eye of the Storm but Aries slips out and wrings Storm's neck on the top rope.

Aries to the top but he misses a missile dropkick. Storm lines him up and wants the Codebreaker but Aries counters. The two bonk heads and referee Earl Hebner attends to Aries when Bobby Roode comes down and pulls Storm out of the ring and into the post. He throws him back in, Aries hits the Brainbuster and that's it.

Winner via pinfall: Austin Aries

Hulk Hogan and Sting are out. They talk about their issues with Aces & Eights when they are interrupted by Christopher Daniels and Kazarian. Daniels says he can't believe Hogan picked the most untrustworthy guy in the locker room in Bully Ray to team with Sting, but moreover, he can't believe he didn't pick them to face Aces & Eights.

Kazarian says they have a solution and it has three parts. 1) They cancel the their tag team title match at Bound For Glory, 2) They tell Bully Ray thanks, but no thanks, and 3) They call on Kurt Angle to take Ray's spot. It's foolproof, he says!

This brings out Bully Ray. He says Angle would've been a great choice, but this isn't going to be a wrestling match, it's going to be a fight and that's why you want him. Ray acknowledges that he has to gain Hogan and Sting's trust, so he proses he and Sting team tonight to face Daniels and Kazarian. Daniels and Kazarian freak out at the crowd reaction and Hogan gives it the go-ahead.

Match #2 - Hernandez (Houston, Texas) vs. AJ Styles (Gainesville, Ga.)

Power is the name of the game for Hernandez in the early-going. Styles hits two dropkicks that finally get the big man off his feet and to the floor and Styles comes back with a slingshot forearm to the floor. But once back in the ring, Hernandez quickly drops Styles with a shoulder block and that does it.

Winner via pinfall: Hernandez

Match #3 - Christopher Daniels (Los Angeles, Calif.) & Kazarian (Anaheim, Calif.) vs. Bully Ray (New York City) & Sting (Venice Beach, Calif.)

Ray and Sting run wild early on in complete and total control. Sting sets up for the Stinger Splash on Kazarian but Daniels pulls him out of the way and then crotches Sting on the post. The champs go to work on Sting but a double clothesline puts both Sting and Daniels on the canvas.

Both men tag and here come Bully Ray. He hits a corner splash on both men and then it breaks down with all four men in. Sting sends Kazarian flying over the top. Daniels tries to use the title belt but Ray alerts him and big boots him. Sting then drops Kazarian when he tried to attack Ray from behind. They shake hands and Sting tells Ray to get the tables.

Scorpion Death Drop lands on Kazarian and then Ray puts Daniels through the table with a top-rope release power bomb.

Winners via disqualification: Christopher Daniels & Kazarian

The result is academic. We've got a team for Bound For Glory.

Match #4 - Gail Kim (Toronto, Ontario) vs. Miss Tessmacher (Houston, Texas)

Kim in control of the champion until Tessmacher is about to hit a catapult and start to fire up. She throws some vicious blows in the corner and then hits a big running forearm. She drives Kim into the canvas and goes to the top, but she takes too long and Kim cuts her off.

Kim loads Tessmacher up but Tessmacher slips out into a crucifix pin for two. Tessmacher charges but Kim catches her and hits a sit-out power bomb. Now Kim goes to the top but Tessmacher rolls out of danger before Kim can do anything. Kim dismounts but Tessmacher is right up and drops Kim to get the win.

Winner via pinfall: Miss Tessmacher

Tara hits the ring after the match and starts attacking Tessmacher but Tessmacher slips the Widow's Peak and hits her finish.

Match #5 - Bobby Roode (Toronto, Ontario) vs. Jeff Hardy (Cameron, NC)

They start out on the floor and it's a back-and-forth battle early until Roode is able to gain control. Hardy with brief spots of hope but Roode is able to hold him off each time. Neckbreaker lands for Roode for two. Roode with a sleeper and Hardy is just able to get his arm up before the third drop. Hardy is able to drop Roode and hit the Whisper in the Wind and this opens the door for him. Back kick lands for two. They go back-and-forth a bit but Roode hits a spear for a near-fall.

Modified Twist of Fate connects for Hardy. He wants it again but Roode drops down and hits a low blow and that does it for this one.

Winner via disqualification: Jeff Hardy

After the match, Roode grabs a chair but referee Brian Hebner takes it away, only for Roode to walk right into a Twist of Fate.

Austin Aries comes down and grabs a mic, complaining about the special treatment Hardy gets and the like. How he wanted a new video and new music befitting a champion but they were too busy making Hardy videos. Things like that. And because the show went way over time, my DVR cut out Hardy's response. Sorry folks. I'm sure it was thrilling.
