WWE Main Event: Can Big Show handle Orton again?
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE Main Event: It's the second episode of WWE's newest television endeavor and they've got another big matchup on tap as The Big Show looks to make it two in a row against another former World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton. Also in action is Kofi Kingston. Should be a good one!

And we are TAPED! from San Jose, Calif. Michael Cole and The Miz are our hosts. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Keeping with the format of this show, we get some pretty good video packages on the two combatants in tonight's featured bout: The Big Show and Randy Orton.

Backstage with Josh Mathews, Show says he's out to prove he's the most destructive force in the company. He's not going to cater to the fickle WWE Universe anymore.

Backstage with Matt Striker, Randy Orton cuts quite possibly one of the weirdest promos of his career.

Match #1 - Randy Orton (St. Louis, Mo.) vs. The Big Show (Tampa, Fla.)

They end up on the outside and Show hits a Shhh! Chop on the rail. He loads Orton up to drive him into the post but Orton slides out the backdoor and sends Show head-first into the steel post.

The two are battling and Orton manages to send Show flying over the top rope and crashing down to the floor below. The two battle on the outside and this time, it's Orton who is delivering chop to Show's chest up against the barricade. Back in the ring, Orton goes to work with a Garvin Stomp.

Big Show, though, starts to get going but runs into a dropkick. Orton is slow to cover and Show kicks out, sending Orton to the floor in the process. They again battle on the outside and Orton hits a drop-toe hold that sends Show into the steel steps. Orton pulls Show into the ring and hits the draping DDT not from the middle rope, but with Show hanging over the top rope. Orton now going to that place and he starts pounding for the RKO. Show gets up and Orton hits it but Show's momentum takes him out of the ring.

Orton follows Show to the outside and calls for another RKO but Show sends him ribs-first into the side of the ring. Show throws him back into the ring and hits an elbow to the ribs and then locks in the Colossal Clutch for a moment. He gets up and drives another elbow into the injured ribs. And another. And another. Back to the Clutch now. Orton is able to come back to his feet only to be hit by the choke slam and that is it. Show wins it.

Winner via pinfall: The Big Show

Match #2 - Kofi Kingston (Ghana, West Africa) vs. Michael McGillicutty (Champlin, Minn.)

A quick win here for Kingston in a spotlight bout, as he finishes McGillicutty off with the SOS.

Winner via pinfall: Kofi Kingston

After the match, The Miz enters the ring to confront Kingston. Miz offers it up to Kingston, so Kingston proposes that next week, right here on Main Event, Miz will defend his WWE Intercontinental Championship against Kingston in the evening's featured bout. Miz has one response: "You're on." Miz tries to sneak attack Kingston with the belt but Kingston ducks it and hits Trouble in Paradise. Kingston holds up the title to cheers from the crowd.
