Impact: Hogan, Sting head to clubhouse
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on Impact Wrestling: The road to Bound For Glory rolls on with a big challenge coming from Aces & Eights. Also on the show, a new Television Champion is decided and in the main event, Austin Aries and Jeff Hardy team to face Bobby Roode and Bully Ray. Should be a good one!

Tonight's show emanates LIVE! from the Impact Zone in Orlando. "The Professor" Mike Tenay and The Tazz are our hosts.

Hulk Hogan is out to start the show. He says he's been distracted by Aces & Eights but it's time to get back down to business. He notes it's Championship Thursday and the Television Title is at stake because Devon is locked up in contract negotiations with upper management. He said he'll pick two men out of a group of Samoa Joe, Garett Bischoff, Magnus and Mr. Anderson.

He moves on to talking about James Storm and Bobby Roode. He says they'll face each other in a street fight at Bound For Glory and none other than MMA star King Mo will be the special enforcer.

He moves on to Aces & Eights and notes he'll be heading to their clubhouse tonight and he's going in for a fight, even if it means he's going to it alone. As he says this, none other than Sting makes his way down the ramp. Hogan jokes that he just borrowed Sting's bat. Sting says his bat is Hogan's bat.

Sting says he has Hogan's back and the two of them are going to visit Aces & Eights together, so let's go get another bat.

Match #1 - Kurt Angle (Pittsburgh, Pa.) vs. Chavo Guerrero (El Paso, Texas) vs. Christopher Daniels (Los Angeles, Calif.)

A rather nice triple-threat match to start things off here. Angle and Guerrero team up on Daniels early. Things get stirred up on the outside, though, and all six men end up in the ring.

We're back and find out that all three non-wrestling partners have been ejected from ringside. Angle quickly goes on a rampage with German suplexes for everyone, but Guerrero is able to clothesline him out of the ring. All three men in now. Angle wants an Angle Slam but Guerrero counters. Daniels shoves Guerrero into Angle and then sneaks in an STO on Guerrero and is able to get the pin before Angle can break it up.

Winner via pinfall: Christopher Daniels

Hulk Hogan eliminates Magnus from TV title contention and Brooke Hogan books Tara in a match next as punishment for her actions last week.

Match #2 - No. 1 Contender's Match - Tara (Louisville, Ky.) vs. ODB (Minneapolis, Minn.)

ODB in control. She hits the Bronco Buster on Tara and then Eric Young jumps in the ring and asks for one himself. That doesn't go over well. ODB in total control here. She hits the fallaway slam and then sends Tara over the top and to the floor. Tara comes up holding her knee. ODB goes over and goes after her. She throws Tara in the ring and Tara throws off her knee brace. After several moments, ODB goes over and asks if she's OK and offers to help her up. This was fatal mistake. One small package later and Tara in the top contender.

Winner via pinfall: Tara

Among other things, Hulk Hogan announces Samoa Joe will meet Mr. Anderson for the TV title. Garett Bischoff is not pleased at all.

Match #3 - TNA Television Championship - Samoa Joe (Isle of Samoa) vs. Mr. Anderson (Green Bay, Wisc.)

The two engage in a back-and-forth knockdown, drag-out battle. Joe is able to lock in the Coquina Clutch but Anderson is fighting it. Joe turns it around and flattens Anderson out by turning on his back. As Anderson reaches out for the ropes, Joe grabs that arm, locks it down and flips to his back. Anderson is fading. Earl Hebner raises the arm, gets no response and calls for the bell.

Winner via submission and NEW TNA Television Champion: Samoa Joe

With the win, Joe becomes a TNA Grand Slam Champion.

Hogan and Sting are backstage talking when they are approached by a production assistant who says Bruce Prichard needs them to sign some documents. She pepper sprays them and they are then abducted by Aces & Eights.

It's time for the Gut Check review. Al Snow, Bruce Prichard and Taz are in the ring to look at Evan Markopoulos. Taz says he thinks Markopoulos has a lot to learn and he wants it to do it under this brand, so he says yes. Prichard is in the bad guy role and says no, saying he needs more time. Now Markopoulos has the chance to kick-out to impress Al Snow. Snow says he thinks Markopoulos has the talent to be a star, but he's 18, he's not ready, so his answer is no.

So that makes for the second Gut Check failure.

Hogan are Sting are in Aces & Eights clubhouse. They say they have a proposition for Hogan. They say they've learned to like Hogan and Sting. But now they want them to pick two of their toughest guys to face two members of Aces & Eights at Bound For Glory. And if Aces & Eights wins, they get full access. If Team TNA wins, they go away. And until then, Joseph Park stays with them.

Match #4 - Bobby Roode (Toronto, Ontario) & Bully Ray (New York City) vs. Jeff Hardy (Cameron, NC) & Austin Aries (Minneapolis, Minn.)

After a hot start by Hardy and Aries, Roode and Ray take over and have isolated Hardy. Hardy hits a jawbreaker and then a modified Twist of Fate on Roode and both men are down. Both men make tags and Aries goes to work with forearms. Aries hits the ropes and Roode knees him in the back. Aries goes after him but Ray knees Aries through the ropes to the floor, where Roode throws him into the steel steps.

Now it's Aries who is isolated. Aries starts to fire up and could tag Hardy but chooses not to, instead going after the freshly-tagged Roode. Aries locks in the Last Chancery but Ray breaks it up. Hardy comes in and runs right into a big boot from Ray. Ray wants a big lariat on Aries but he ducks and Ray hits Roode. Corner dropkicks for both men and Aries crushes Roode with the suicide dive and then a missile dropkick for Ray.

Roode comes back and wants the PerfectPlex but Aries counters out and hits the brainbuster. As Aries backs up, Hardy slap tags himself into the match, hits the Swanton and gets the win.

Winners via pinfall; Jeff Hardy & Austin Aries

Backstage, Aces & Eights drop Sting and Hogan off and Sting wants to be one of the two men involved in the match at BFG.
