Raw: Getting ready for 1,000 episodes
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on Monday Night Raw: With Money in the Bank in the rear-view mirror, all the focus in WWE shifts to next week's 1,000th episode of Raw. On Episode 999, we get all the build to that show, as John Cena announces his intentions with his briefcase and Daniel Bryan has a big question for AJ. In the main event tonight, CM Punk faces The Big Show. Should be a good one!

We are LIVE! from Las Vegas. Michael Cole and Jerry "The King" Lawler are our hosts and this show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG, V)

The champ is here! CM Punk is out to start the show. He talks about his journey from when he cut his famous promo in Las Vegas last year and how next week is Raw's 1000th episode. Before he can go too far, his opponent tonight, The Big Show, makes his way to the ring.

Show talks about how he was inches away from winning Money in the Bank. The crowd chants "Big Show sucks" at him and he says the fans are rude and he is trying to make a point. He says John Cena got lucky because the handle broke and if he won the briefcase, he'd cash it in right now.

Punk cuts him off and talks about how Big Show loses and how he has the respect of the people and the WWE Championship and Show has his big fat contract and no one respects him. Show says Punk isn't special because this company revolves around one man. He's just a cog in the machine, Show says. Punk says Show is an underachieving shell of a man who used to be a giant. Show says after he knocks Punk out tonight, Punk could very well lose the title to Cena.

We're back and Young and O'Neil have gained control but Kingston is trying to rally. They shut that down, though, until Kingston is able to squirt free and bring in Truth, who comes in on fire. Truth with a DDT but Young breaks up the pin attempt. Truth, in response, clotheslines Young over the top. O'Neil charges but Truth moves and Kingston hops on the apron and delivers Trouble in Paradise. Truth follows with the What's Up and that's it.

AJ and Daniel Bryan are backstage talking when Eve interrupts. She's mad about Bryan ditching her last week, so she appealed to the WWE Board of Directors, so she got a match tonight with a mystery partner to face Bryan and AJ. She leaves and Bryan kisses AJ on the cheek.

Here comes Mr. Money in the Bank himself, Dolph Ziggler. He talks about winning the briefcase and that he's going to become the greatest champion in WWE history. He reels off names of people he'll be better than when he's interrupted by Chris Jericho.

Jericho comes down and Ziggler goes on the verbal offensive, saying this is his time, that Jericho didn't win his Money in the Bank match last night and further, when's the last time he won anything? He says Jericho is the best in the world at losing. No one has been given more chances than Jericho, he continues and Jericho has been coasting along for so long that he's got everyone fooled. He says Jericho is all hype. He asks when the last time Jericho won an important match. Jericho is silent through all of this. Ziggler speculates that Jericho is losing his touch, that he can't win the big one anymore. He goes on to say Jericho is losing his touch a few more times and Jericho jumps right into a Codebreaker and leaves him laying.

He says Cena hasn't had the title forever. He says Cena would be a fool not to cash it in now. A referee comes down and asks for the briefcase.
