WWE NXT: One last hurrah before new format
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: On the first episode of this show back in 2010, fans were treated to a main event match between World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho and new NXT rookie Daniel Bryan. It's been a long odyssey for the show, which wraps up its current format with a main event between the Usos and Johnny Curtis and Michael McGillicutty. Should be a good one!

And we are TAPED! from Manchester, N.H. Josh Mathews and William Regal are our commentators and Matt Striker is our host. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Match #1 - Curt Hawkins (Queens, NY) & Tyler Reks (Parts Unknown) vs. Percy Watson (Miami, Fla.) & Derrick Bateman (Cleveland, Ohio)

Watson sends both Hawkins and Reks to the floor and then tags in Bateman, who comes through the ropes with a suicide dive that takes out both men.

We're back and Reks is in control of Watson. He brings in Hawkins, who hits a nice suplex for two. Watson starts to fire up. He kicks Reks in the head and both men are down. He crawls over and gets the tag to Bateman, who comes in on Reks. Flapjack connects for Bateman and then forearms for both Reks and Hawkins. He drives Reks into the mat and following with a rolling neckbreaker for two. It breaks down at that point, allowing Reks to hit a throwdown DDT for the win.

Match #2 - Kaitlyn (Houston, Texas) vs. Natalya (Calgary, Alberta)

Natalya uses some nefarious means to gain the advantage. She locks in a bow and arrow, but has to give it up when the referee counts her shoulders. Natalya runs Kaitlyn into the corner. She charges the corner but Kaitlyn moves. Kaitlyn ducks a clothesline and hits a big dropkick. Now Kaitlyn's getting going and hits a crossbody for two.

Natalya tries a rollup with her feet on the ropes, but the referee sees it. Kaitlyn with a rollup as Natalya argues with the ref for two. A discus clothesline for Natalya connects for two. They trade rollup attempts and it ends with Kaitlyn getting a sunset flip for the win.

Match #3 - Jimmy & Jey Uso (San Francisco, Calif.) vs. Johnny Curtis (Westbrook, Maine) & Michael McGillicutty (Champlin, Minn.)

A prolonged beatdown for Jey at the hands of Curtis and McGillicutty. They aren't giving him a moment to breath here. He almost gets a tag to Jimmy but Curtis cuts him off at the very last moment and pulls him back.

McGillicutty in but Uso is able to send him out of the ring. He kicks Curtis and finally makes it to Jimmy. Jimmy comes in and is flying. Big Samoan drop connects and he is hyped. He hits the running butt bomb for two. McGillicutty counters an Irish whip attempt for a Saito suplex for two. McGillicutty runs into a big boot and Jimmy and Jey hit a tag team Samoan drop. Jey goes for the cover but Curtis breaks it up with a guillotine leg drop from the top.

McGillicutty goes to cover but Jimmy breaks it up and then kicks Curtis off the apron. McGillicutty goes for the McGillicutter, but Jey sidesteps him and hits a superkick. He tags in Jimmy who comes down with the Superfly Splash and that's it.
