Impact: Who will get into Sacrifice title match?
MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling
Tonight on Impact Wrestling: The stakes are high in tonight's fatal four way main event between Bobby Roode, Rob Van Dam, Jeff Hardy and Mr. Anderson. The winner of the match will face Roode for the title at Sacrifice. If Roode wins, he gets to pick his opponent at Sacrifice and if RVD wins, he'll get to pick the stipulation in his match with Roode.
Tonight's taped show emanates from the Impact Zone in Orlando. "The Professor" Mike Tenay and The Tazz are our hosts.
Bobby Roode is out to start the show. He brags about taking out Rob Van Dam, Mr. Anderson and Jeff Hardy all at once last week. Sometimes, he says, he's impressed with how good he is. He says in 14 days, he'll go down in history as the longest world champion in the history of the company. He says if RVD thinks he's going to out-wrestle him Sunday at Sacrifice and take his world title away, he's sadly mistaken.
RVD comes running out from the back and RVD lands some punches that send Roode rolling out of the ring and headed to the back. As he backs up the ramp, Anderson comes down and starts laying into Roode, sending him back to RVD. They throw him into the ring, where Hardy joins in. It's a 3-on-1. Now Hardy starts pounding away at Anderson. The usual bunch of idiots come break it up.
As it's being broken up, Hulk Hogan's music hits. He says he likes the enthusiasm, so he's going to set up a fatal four way between them tonight. The winner of the match will get Roode in the main event of Sacrifice, but if Roode wins, he gets to pick the weakest link. The incentive for RVD here is, if he chooses to accept, if he wins the match, he'll get to pick the stipulation of the match with Roode. RVD agrees.
Match #1 - Brooke Tessmacher (Houston, Texas) vs. Velvet Sky (The Big Apple)
Velvet hits a bulldog for two. She hits two face-busters and a drop kick for two. Velvet charges, but Tessmacher hits a drop-toe hold into the corner and hits, well, a move, and wins it.
Winner via pinfall: Brooke Tessmacher
Gail Kim lays Tessmacher out after the match with Eat Defeat.
Crimson comes down for a match with Matt Morgan, but as Morgan is coming down to the ring, he is attacked from behind by Bully Ray, who sends a message to Austin Aries. Morgan is busted open and then stretchered out.
Crimson is still in the ring. He talks crap about Morgan. He says he still wants a match with Morgan. He tells the referee they should give Morgan another opportunity to come out and end the undefeated streak. He tells the referee to start counting. The referee rings the bell and Morgan is subsequently counted out.
Match #2 - TNA X Division Championship - (c) Austin Aries (Minneapolis, Minn.) vs. Zema Ion (The Philippines)
Ion with a flip dive to the outside that takes Aries out. Slingshot kick connects. Aries starts to fire up and hits a springboard splash. Ion takes Aries into the corner but that fails. Aries stands to the top and hits a missile dropkick. He follows that with a corner dropkick and the Brainbuster and that is all she wrote.
Winner via pinfall and STILL TNA X Division Champion: Austin Aries
Christopher Daniels and Kazarian are in the ring. Daniels notes he told AJ Styles last week that Styles could reveal his secret or he would. He says he's going to give Styles one last chance to do so. After a few moments, Styles makes his way to the ring. Styles says this needs to stop because they are going to make the biggest mistake of their lives.
Kazarian says he tried to protect Styles, but then he looked at everything and wondered why he was protecting him. Kazarian reveals a photograph of Styles and Dixie Carter standing together. Great, Styles says, it's a nice picture. But Daniels says that isn't the only picture. The next one is Styles and Carter with their hands on each other. Styles has nothing to say, so Daniels and Kazarian have one more and it appears Styles and Carter are, uh, necking.
Daniels says Styles has been the posterboy of TNA since day one, so when he looks at this, a picture is worth 1,000 words. Daniels and Kazarian leave and Styles is left stunned.
Match #3 - TNA Television Championship - (c) Devon (New York City) vs. Robbie E (Seaside Heights, NJ)
Devon quickly picks up the win.
Winner via pinfall and STILL TNA Television Champion: Devon
The joy of the fast win doesn't last long, though, as Devon is beat up by Robbie T after the match.
Joseph Park, Esq. makes his way down to the ring for the first time. He starts talking in the center of the ring before being given a microphone. He says the one common theme of all the interviews he did was this Bully Ray fellow. He says he's not going anywhere until he gets answers. He says he saw the big sign out front for Sacrifice this Sunday, so he might just come down and buy a ticket.
He's interrupted by Bully Ray himself. Ray berates Park. He asks Park how he'd feel if he did what he did to Matt Morgan to him. Park then starts roasting Ray left and right. He talks about how Abyss beat Ray, how Devon beat Ray and how Aries beat him down last week. He asks Ray how the bullying thing is working out for him and Ray shoves Park to the canvas and leaves.
Match #4 - Fatal Four Way - Mr. Anderson (Green Bay, Wisc.) vs. Rob Van Dam (Battle Creek, Mich.) vs. Jeff Hardy (Cameron, NC) vs. Bobby Roode (Toronto, Ontario)
Roode and RVD in the ring. He's putting the boots to RVD but runs right into a kick. RVD with a spinning kick in the corner drops Roode. RVD rolls to the other side of the ring to try to monkey flip Hardy, but he hangs onto the ropes. He goes to the top and hits the Whisper in the Wind for two. RVD tries to get going but Roode cuts him off and sends him to the floor. Then Hardy hits the Twist of Fate on Roode and Anderson follows with a Mic Check on Roode. Hardy and Anderson tumble to the floor, allowing RVD to jump back in, hit the Five Star Frog Splash and pin Roode.
Winner via pinfall: Rob Van Dam
RVD will now face Roode in a ladder match for the title at Sacrifice. He's celebrating with a ladder when blue pyro goes off and Abyss comes out. He has a mic and tells his little brother Joseph that he's getting too close to the fire and to back off before he gets burned.
