Raw: Heyman returns with big announcement
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on Monday Night Raw: It's been a little more than five years since we last saw Paul Heyman in a WWE ring. Heyman returned to WWE as a legal representative for Brock Lesnar and he came with a shocking announcement in tow. What would Lesnar's fate be after his vicious attack on Triple H? Should be a good one!

We are LIVE! from Greensboro, NC. Michael Cole and Jerry "The King" Lawler are our hosts and this show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG, V)

"Mr. Excitement" himself, John Laurinaitis is out to start the show. He's upset at John Cena for what he said last week, including calling him an idiot. He says Brock Lesnar injured Cena's arm, but he injured Cena's pride. At Over the Limit, he's going to continue what Lesnar started. He says he's not going to apologize to Cena for what he did last week and he's not going to be reprimanded by the WWE Board of Directors because they realize he is tough, but fair. So he's asked that Cena not be there live tonight so he can do therapy on his arm, so when they meet at Over the Limit, he doesn't have an excuse for why he gets beat. But Cena will be here tonight doing an interview via satellite tonight, where he has to apologize for making fun of his voice.

Laurinaitis adds anyone making fun of his voice going forward will suffer severe consequences. He talks about how Dr. Death injured him and hurt his voice, but he was the biggest start in Japanese history. He shows some pictures of his work in Japan. He says he's the Hulk Hogan, the Steve Austin, The Rock all rolled into one in Japan. He says he said no to a lucrative WWE contract back then, but at Over the Limit, one night only, it'll be Big Johnny vs. John Cena.

He's about to take off when CM Punk's music hits. Punk says Laurinaitis has no clue what the people actually want, despite all his people power talk. Punk says he's going to make it easy for Laurinaitis to know what the people want tonight. He says the fans don't want to see Laurinaitis. He says nobody wants to hear about how good Laurinaitis was in Japan, which is nice revisionist history, he adds. He says Laurinaitis was letting out frustrations last week for Cena beating Lesnar. Punk says nobody would pay to see Laurinaitis compete here, so that's why he had to go to Japan. Laurinaitis tells Punk to watch it. Punk says he's going to watch Cena beat Laurinaitis at the pay-per-view.

Punk goes on insulting Laurinaitis, to which Laurinaitis says if he wasn't training for his match with Cena right now, he'd pummel him to the ground. Laurinaitis says in his place, Punk will face a man who knows about respect: Lord Tensai.

Match #1 - WWE Intercontinental Championship - (c) Cody Rhodes (Marietta, Ga.) vs. The Big Show (Tampa, Fla.)

Rhodes tries to take a walk, but Show cuts him off. Now Rhodes gets away and takes off again and this time, he's too far away for Show to get to him.

Winner via countout: The Big Show

Show grabs the mic and tries to convince Rhodes to come back. Instead of Rhodes, though, he gets Eve Torres. She demands an apology from Show for making fun of Laurinaitis' voice backstage. She starts running him down. He reluctantly apologizes.

Jumping clothesline for Kingston and he follows with the Boom Drop. He calls for Trouble in Paradise, but Swagger jumps on the apron. Ziggler tries to hit the Zig Zag but Kingston hangs on. He comes over and hits the SOS for two. Vickie Guerrero on the apron now, which draws R-Truth over. This allows Swagger to knock Kingston off the apron and Ziggler follows with the Zig Zag and that does it.

Winner via pinfall: Dolph Ziggler

Michael Cole is in the ring. He introduces John Cena via satellite. Cena says he gets his elbow drained twice a day and there's a group of doctors who think he should be taking a few months off. Cena says he'll kick Laurinaitis' rear-end at Over the Limit.

Match #3 - Alberto Del Rio (San Luis Potosi, Mexico) & Chris Jericho (Winnipeg, Manitoba) vs. Randy Orton (St. Louis, Mo.) & Sheamus (Dublin, Ireland)

Jericho and Del Rio isolate Sheamus and work on his injured shoulder. Sheamus works his way to a vertical base and elbows his way out of a hold with his good arm. He hits a clothesline and both he and Jericho are down. Now here comes Orton in on Del Rio. He hits the big scoop slam and then the draping DDT. Jericho comes flying in but he eats a scoop slam, too. Ricardo Rodriguez hops on the apron, which allows Del Rio to hit a jumping kick for two.

Now Jericho tags in and they isolate Orton. Del Rio goes for the cross-armbreaker, but Orton escapes and hits the backbreaker. Del Rio crawls and makes the tag to Jericho right as Orton tags Sheamus. Sheamus comes in on fire. Running knee lift connects. He goes for the Celtic Cross, but the shoulder gives out. Jericho goes for the Walls of Jericho but Sheamus escapes and hits the Irish Curse backbreaker for two as Del Rio breaks it up, only to eat an RKO from Orton. Sheamus goes for the Brogue Kick but Jericho ducks it and he hits Orton instead. Momentarily stunned, Sheamus turns right around into the Codebreaker and that does it.

Winners via pinfall: Chris Jericho & Alberto Del Rio

Sheamus and Orton are getting up in the ring and Orton gives Sheamus and RKO.

Jericho, Del Rio and Orton are all arguing with Big Johnny for a title shot and it breaks out into a brawl and now here comes Sheamus flying in. They brawl all over the office. Sheamus and Orton start arguing. Pretty intense scene right now. The World Heavyweight Championship match is turned into a Fatal Four Way at Over the Limit.

Match #4 - Brodus Clay (Planet Funk) vs. The Miz (Cleveland, Ohio)

Miz in control after getting Clay down. He hits the corner clothesline and then goes to the top and hits a double axhandle for a one count. Miz all over Clay here, like no one else before. That is until Clay escapes a chin lock. He hits a headbutt but runs into a big boot. Miz to the second rope, but he comes right down into a T-Bone suplex. He follows that with the big splash and that's it.

Winner via pinfall: Brodus Clay

Brock Lesnar's music plays and after a delay, none other than Paul Heyman walks through the curtain and to the ring as Lesnar's legal representation. He says Lesnar has been under-appreciated by not only the fans, but corporate management as well. He talks about how Lesnar's demands were agreed to on national television and now Lesnar feels betrayed by the WWE Universe. He says Lesnar is an honest man. He says Lesnar asked him to come here tonight to read his statement.

Lesnar's statement says the he was met with the same corporate politics and BS that led him to leave eight years ago. He doesn't regret what he did to John Cena. The statement says Triple H could last nearly an hour in the Cell with Undertaker, but couldn't last one minute in a fight with him. The statement says Lesnar is never coming back because he quits.

Match #5 - Handicap Match - CM Punk (Chicago, Ill.) vs. Lord Tensai (Tokyo, Japan) vs. Daniel Bryan (Aberdeen, Wash.)

Not surprisingly, Tensai and Bryan are all over Punk. Tensai hits the back splash and tags in Bryan, who goes for the diving headbutt, but Punk moves out of the way. Punk grabs Bryan by the legs and slingshots him into the turnbuckle. He catches him with a clothesline and an elbow followed by a heel kick and a neckbreaker.

Punk hits the running knee and follows with the bulldog and calls for the GTS. Bryan slips out and Tensai tags himself in and hits Punk with a big clothesline. Tensai misses a corner splash and Punk hits a head kick. He goes to the top but Bryan crotches him. Tensai hits a big tree slam. He spits the mist up and locks in the claw. He holds it for a few seconds before sweeping the leg and pinning Punk.

Winners via pinfall: Lord Tensai & Daniel Bryan

After the match, Bryan goes to work on Punk and applies the Yes Lock.
