Tonight on WWE NXT: Change is apparently coming soon to NXT, but before that happens, we get two matches as the drama continues to unfold. In tag team action, Tyson Kidd and Alex Riley team to face Johnny Curtis and JTG and in the main event, Percy Watson battles Michael McGillicutty. Should be a good one!
And we are TAPED! from Toledo, Ohio. Josh Mathews and William Regal are our commentators and Matt Striker is our host. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).
Striker and Regal are in the ring talking about the new talent coming to NXT and it's not long before they are interrupted by Johnny Curtis and Maxine, still handcuffed together. They complain about that and quickly they are all interrupted by JTG. He says he's been trying to contact Regal, but he hasn't gotten a response. He says the people want JTG. Regal says he's glad those three are out there, since Curtis and JTG are going to team right now, so let's get someone out here to face them.
Match #1 - Johnny Curtis (Westbrook, Maine) & JTG (Brooklyn, NY) vs. Tyson Kidd (Calgary, Alberta) & Alex Riley (Washington, DC)
JTG and Curtis in control, isolating Riley from his partner. JTG works a headlock in the centre of the ring but Riley uses a back suplex to escape. JTG, though, tags Curtis, who comes sprinting in to keep Riley in the ring. Curtis goes to work, but Riley uses a headbutt to gain some space, only to be brought back down by a clothesline. Curtis maintaining control here. JTG in and he hits a facebuster out of the corner but Riley is able to kick out at two. Curtis back in and he tries to take Riley to the top, but Riley knocks him down and hits a flying clotheslines.
This gives Riley the opening he needs to bring Kidd into the match, who comes in on fire on JTG. Series of kicks connect for a two count. Russian leg sweep connects off the middle rope for Kidd, but Curtis breaks up the pin. Riley in, and he sidesteps Curtis and sends him to the outside. JTG to the outside is well and Riley assists Kidd in hitting a roll over the top. Back in the ring, JTG and Kidd exchange reversals that lead to Kidd locking in the Dungeon Lock and JTG taps.
Winners via submission: Tyson Kidd & Alex Riley
Michael McGillicutty and Percy Watson meet backstage. Watson accuses McGillicutty of being the mystery attacker last week. These two will meet in the main event tonight.
Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins are making a scene in the crowd, holding up "Fire Regal" signs among others. They have tickets, but Regal tells security to remove them from the building.
JTG meets with Alicia Fox backstage and agrees to let her give him a makeover.
Backstage we also find that Riley has been attacked by the mystery attacker.
Match #2 - Percy Watson (Miami, Fla.) vs. Michael McGillicutty (Champlin, Minn.)
Watson starts out strong, but McGillicutty takes over for a very, very, very long extended period of time, just completely dominating Watson and going after the knee that was injured in the mystery attack last week. Watson manages to send McGillicutty to the outside and this gives him the time he needs to recover and get moving. He hits an arm throw but has completely lost his speed due to the knee.
He hits a face-buster/neckbreaker combo but McGillicutty kicks out at two. He tries to lift McGillicutty on his shoulders, but McGillicutty slips out, hits a chop block on the bad knee and follows that with the McGillicutter and that's all she wrote.
Winner via pinfall: Michael McGillicutty
After the match, Striker comes out with some evidence for Regal. It's a tassel that was found near the scene of the crime tonight. Regal says security would like to question Watson since his boots are noticeably missing the tassels tonight.
