WWE NXT: Kidd, McGillicutty go at it again
MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling
Tonight on WWE NXT: After Michael McGillicutty got one-up on Tyson Kidd a few weeks back, Kidd has been pining for a rematch. Finally, he gets his long-awaited chance at redemption tonight when he faces McGillicutty in the main event. Also on the show, Maxine attempts to seduce William Regal. Should be a good one!
And we are TAPED! from East Rutherford, NJ. Josh Mathews and William Regal are our commentators and Matt Striker is our host. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).
Matt Striker is in the ring and he welcomes us to NXT. He announces tonight's main event will be Tyson Kidd against Michael McGillicutty and he says let's get it started now with out first matchup.
Match #1 - Curt Hawkins (Long Island, NY) vs. Justin Gabriel (Cape Town, South Africa)
Hawkins with a headlock controlling Gabriel and keeping him on the canvas. Gabriel ducks a clothesline and hits a thrust kick. He follows that with the 450 Splash and that's it.
Winner via pinfall: Justin Gabriel
Darren Young and Titus O'Neil holler at Tamina Snuka backstage until the Usos come up and try to get them to back off. They say they'll see them in the ring.
Match #2 - Darren Young (Miami, Fla.) vs. Jimmy Uso (San Francisco, Calif.)
Young all over Uso here. But Uso gets going and hits a Samoan drop. He follows that up with the butt splash in the corner for two. Uso drops Young and goes to the top but he's cut off. Young climbs and they slug it out. Uso knocks him off, jumps off for an axhandle but Young moves, throws him into the post and hits the double knees and that's it.
Winner via pinfall: Darren Young
Mathews leaves the announce desk and finds out that someone took his car. Then we cut backstage to Maxine saying she needed to get Mathews out of there so she could get close to Regal. They hear him talking to Striker from behind a wall and one of them comes walking. Johnny Curtis chroloforms him and then stuff him in a box. What a segment this was.
Now Maxine comes to the announce desk with a little basket of things for Regal.
Match #3 - Percy Watson (Miami, Fla.) vs. Tyler Reks (Parts Unknown)
During the match, Regal is getting a foot massage from Maxine on commentary. This is really happening.
Reks in control with a hammerlock. As this is happening, Maxine moves to giving Regal a scalp massage. Real life. Reks charges Watson in the corner but he moves and starts to fire up. Big hip-toss for Watson. He follows that with the Showtime Splash for two. Watson goes to the top and hits a big crossbody but Reks rolls through for two. He lifts Watson up, but Watson counters and hits the flapjack and that's it.
Winner via pinfall: Percy Watson
Backstage, Striker is no longer in the crate Curtis stuffed him in, instead it's a ransom note saying they have Striker, they know what they did and they'll come with demands. They accuse Derrick Bateman and Kaitlyn of doing it, but they proclaim innocence. They leave, Maxine pushes Curtis into the crate and tells him to find Striker.
Match #4 - Michael McGillicutty (Champlin, Minn.) vs. Tyson Kidd (Calgary, Alberta)
McGillicutty drops Kidd face-first onto the announce desk on the outside and then throws him back in the ring. McGillicutty works a side headlock. Kidd gets to his feet and hits a drop-toe hold that sends McGillicutty face-first into the middle turnbuckle. Now Kidd fires up with some kicks. Kidd kicks McGillicutty and it puts him through the ropes. He hits a guillotine leg drop. He goes for the springboard elbow but McGillicutty gets his knees up.
McGillicutty rises and hits a Saito suplex for two. They trade some near falls and McGillicutty goes for the McGillicutter but Kidd avoids it. He goes out to the apron, kicks McGillicutty then comes over the top with a roll-through and gets the pin.
Winner via pinfall: Tyson Kidd
McGillicutty gets on the mic and tells Kidd this isn't over and he's going to regret crossing him because he's going to hurt him where it hurts the most, in his heart.
