Impact: Bischoff tested again
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on Impact Wrestling: Last week, Ric Flair set an ultimatum for Garett Bischoff. If he showed up this week, he'd be getting a beating. It ends up being in form of a tag team match as Gunner teams with Kurt Angle to face Bischoff and his surprise partner Jeff Hardy in the main event.

Tonight's taped show emanates from the Impact Zone in Orlando. "The Professor" Mike Tenay and The Tazz are our hosts.

Ric Flair, Eric Bischoff and Gunner are out to start the show. Bischoff is here to talk about his son Garett. He says he respectfully asked Sting to allow Gunner to find a tag team partner to face Garett and his partner to "hopefully put an end to this saga." He goes on a tirade about how there's a locker room full of guys looking to beat up Garett when Kurt Angle comes down, presumably to accept the offer to be Gunner's partner.

Angle says he's more than happy to be Gunner's partner because he doesn't like Garett. Angle says he and Gunner are going to make Garett tap, tap, tap, and it's real.

Match #1 - TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship - (c ) Gail Kim (Toronto, Ontario) & Madison Rayne (Seattle, Wash.) vs. ODB (Minneapolis, Minn.) & Eric Young (Nashville, Tenn.)

ODB on fire on both Kim and Rayne in the early-going, but some actions behind the referee's back turns that around. Young finally gets the hot tag and locks up with the referee. Then he loads both Rayne and Kim on his shoulders for a double airplane spin and all three are reeling. Young gets a two count on Kim. Now the champs try to double team Young but eat a clothesline from ODB. She goes to the outside with Rayne. In the ring, Kim tries to beat on Young but he strips down to his underwear. With the referee distracted, Rayne hits Young in the back with the belt, but he falls right onto Kim and she can't escape and is pinned.

Winners via pinfall and NEW TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions: Eric Young & ODB

After the match, Young gets down on one knee and proposes to ODB. She accepts.

Match #2 - TNA X Division Championship - (c ) Austin Aries (Minneapolis, Minn.) vs. Zema Ion (The Phillipines)

Aries sends Ion to the outside and goes for a leap from the top but misses and crashes into the guard rail. Ion takes over. He quickly goes up for the 450 but Aries moves and Ion eats canvas. Ion grabs his hair spray and puts it in his pants. They tease a ref bump that ends up turning the referee's back. Ion goes to use the spray but Aries ducks it, takes it and uses it on Ion. The referee recovers and sees it and calls for the bell.

Winner via disqualification: Zema Ion

Bully Ray is in the ring, or as he's referring to himself, "Calfzilla." He notes what he did to James Storm last week and says he deserves to be the No. 1 contender. He asks Sting to come out and name him the No. 1 contender. Sting comes out in full insane mode. Sting says Ray's got Roode and Ray is all happy. But then Sting says it's going to be right after the break.

Match #3 - Bully Ray (New York City) vs. Bobby Roode (Toronto, Ontario)

Back-and-forth match. Rya with some chops, some punches and then a huge back drop. Ray on fire until he runs into a big boot. But he catches Roode charging with a uranage for two. Now Roode grabs Ray's chain. He runs at Roode again but eats a big boot. Now Ray grabs his chain but James Storm runs in, looking for a piece of Ray. Ray bails, so Storm hits the Last Call Superkick on Roode.

This match is a no contest?

I love how they just don't make announcements on the result of the match. No bell rang, nothing. Ray just went to the ramp and they played Storm's music.

Morgan with the big splash on E and he follows by sending T over the top. Carbon Footprint on E, Crimson tags himself in and makes the pin.

Match #5 - Gunner (Atlanta, Ga.) & Kurt Angle (Pittsburgh, Pa.) vs. Garett Bischoff (Clearwater Beach, Fla.) & Jeff Hardy (Cameron, NC)

Gunner and Angle in control, isolating Hardy from Bischoff while working quick tags. Hardy takes advantage of a Gunner mistake and hits Whisper in the Wind. Angle in now but Hardy hits a kick and both men are down. Hardy dives and makes the tag to Bischoff. He knocks Gunner off the apron and hits a flying forearm on Angle. He hits a flapjack, dropkicks Gunner off the apron and then hits a modified Stunner but Gunner breaks up the pin.

Now Gunner and Angle go for a double team, but Hardy tags himself in, Gunner hits a double clothesline that leaves Angle right in position for the Swanton Bomb and Hardy hits it. Buh bye.

Winners via pinfall: Jeff Hardy & Garett Bischoff
