WWE NXT: Tag team demoted to janitorial duty
MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling
Tonight on WWE NXT: William Regal is in charge of the show now and he is here to make change. He's booking all the matches and has something special in store for the loud-mouth tag team of Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks, who have apparently ran their mouths one too many times. Should be a good one!
And we are TAPED! from Uncasville, Conn. Josh Mathews and William Regal are our commentators and Matt Striker is our host. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).
Striker brings Regal into the ring. Regal says he's going to bring everyone the best show possible and he wants to shake things up here on NXT. He says tonight's main event will be between Titus O'Neil and Percy Watson. Before he can spit out the rest of tonight's matches, Maxine interrupts. She says she's looking forward to working underneath Regal. He says he's looking forward to seeing her in action tonight against Tamina Snuka. And apparently that starts now.
Match #1 - Maxine (Tampa, Fla.) vs. Tamina Snuka (Fiji Islands)
Maxine takes over after Snuka gets out to a hot start, but Snuka hits a Samoan drop and follows it up with the Superfly Splash and that is all she wrote.
Winner via pinfall: Tamina Snuka
Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks are out. Hawkins is bitter about not being named the new GM of NXT. Reks says neither Regal or Striker could get it done in the ring, so they just flap their gums because they are has beens.
Regal grabs the mic and says if they want to get into the ring again next week, he's got a job for them. He's got a mop and bucket and says they will be whatever he wants them to be after how they treated Striker and the rest of the roster. So tonight, they'll be the toilet cleaners here at the arena. If they want to get back in his good graces and be booked on NXT again, they do it. But he says it's entirely up to them. They both come out and pick up their mops and head to the back.
Match #2 - Yoshi Tatsu (Tokyo, Japan) vs. Johnny Curtis (Westbrook, Maine)
Curtis in control. He works a hammerlock. then he uses that hammerlock into a suplex. He continues working over Tatsu's arm. Tatsu fires up with punches and kicks and sends Curtis into the corner. He hits a knee and then a snap mare followed by a kick to the chest. Curtis, though, gets Tatsu in the corner and starts chopping him. He loads him up on the top turnbuckle but is knocked down before he can hit the superplex. Tatsu goes for the spinning heel kick but Curtis moves and hits a sit-out suplex and that's it.
Winner via pinfall: Johnny Curtis
Match #3 - Jey Uso (San Francisco, Calif.) vs. Darren Young (Miami, Fla.)
Young all over Uso in the early going. He slingshots him into the bottom rope. Young puts his knee in Usos back, slaps him around a little bit and locks in a chin lock. Uso tries to get rolling. He misses the corner butt splash and Young catches him coming out in a roll-up and gets the pin.
Winner via pinfall: Darren Young
Match #4 - Percy Watson (Miami, Fla.) vs. Titus O'Neil (Tampa, Fla.)
O'Neil sports an amazing bedazzled shirt on his way to the ring. The power of the shirt compels him and he goes to work on Watson. He locks in an abdominal stretch and then pounds away with some fists to Watson's midsection. Watson, though, is able to get going. He hits a nice throw on O'Neil and follows that with the Showtime Splash for two. Watson misses a splash in the corner but is able to counter the Clash of the Titus. He comes back and hits the flapjack and gets the win.
Winner via pinfall: Percy Watson
Reks and Hawkins hit the ring after the match and start beating Watson down after he laughed at them backstage earlier. They throw him out of the ring and demand a microphone. Hawkins says Regal can consider his mess cleaned up and Reks adds they are just getting started.
