WWE RAW's GM a Johnny come lately

In the sometimes-wacky world of folding chairs, catchphrases, smack talk and predetermined results, there often comes a time when gimmicks suddenly die.

The Spirit Squad, Eugene, Bastion Booger, Damien Demento, The Goon, Repo Man ... some of them were miscast, others just floated on into oblivion.

John Laurinaitis’ time has come. And while he the WWE’s “board of directors” decided not to fire the RAW GM, there needs to be a stipulation at RAW that gets rid of this guy.

I’m sure he’s a great talent relations guy. But prior to his camera time in his current role, fans didn’t know or really care who he was. Sure he wrestled as Johnny Ace, but he was better known for being the brother of Road Warrior Animal.

My recent track record — I predicted a quick character kill for Funkasaurus Brodus Clay — suggests I have no idea what the hell I am talking about.

Given that, we’re likely to see Laurinaitis awkwardly clutching a microphone for many years to come.
