WWE NXT: Riley, Watson add excitement in main event
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on WWE NXT: As the show rolls on forever and ever and ever, at least the fans are getting some good action. That was the case tonight as the show featured two excellent matches as Trent Barreta battled Tyson Kidd and, in the main event, Alex Riley teamed with Percy Watson to battle former blood rivals Titus O'Neil and Darren Young. Should be a good one!

And we are TAPED! from Omaha, Nebraska. Josh Mathews and William Regal are our commentators and Matt Striker is our host. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).

Titus O'Neil is out to start the show. He notes Alex Riley came down last week and put his nose in business that had nothing to do with him. He wants Riley to come out here like a man, but instead he gets Mr. No Days Off Darren Young. Young notes they have unfinished business. O'Neil protests, telling him he whooped him two weeks ago in a no DQ match. He tells him the only unfinished business Young has is between he and his barber.

Young turns the tide and says even though he can't stand O'Neil, he respects him, and offers his hand for a hand shake. He says he doesn't care about any of the fans respecting him and he doesn't need Young's respect either. He says he does appreciate the fact Young is finally starting to see the light, though, and shakes his hand.

This brings out Percy Watson. He says from now on, the gloves are off when it comes to anything going on with him. O'Neil gets on Watson for siding with the fans and now O'Neil is fired up, telling Watson he's either with him or against him. Young tells him to come up and say it to them in the ring. Before he can do that, Alex Riley comes out.

Riley tells O'Neil to do everyone a favor and keep his mouth shut. He says he know what it's like to have his best friend turn on him, how he helped get someone to the top only to get turned on. He said last week, he kicked O'Neil's butt and he's going to do it again. All four men start brawling and Riley and Watson stand tall, clearing the ring of O'Neil and Young.

Shockingly, this brings out Matthew Striker. He books a tag team match. Can't wait.

Match #1 - Trent Barreta (Mount Sinai, NY) vs. Tyson Kidd (Calgary, Alberta)

Kidd hits a suicide dive and both men are down outside the ring but both beat the count back in. Barreta hits a nice kick to the back of the head and then a leaping elbow in the corner. He comes off the ropes but Kidd clocks him with a jumping back kick.

Back-and-forth we go here with both men looking good. Barreta goes for the tornado DDT, but Kidd escapes and hits a kick from the apron. Kidd is laboring on his ensuing trip to the top rope and Barreta is able to crotch him. Kidd is able to fight Barreta off, but he comes right back and hits a 'rana, but Kidd rolls it through into a sunset flip and gets the pin.

Winner via pinfall: Tyson Kidd

Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks confront Striker backstage. They wanted to be in the main event last week but Striker didn't do that for them. Striker says he's under a lot of pressure and next week, everyone who is sanctioned will have a match.

Oh yay. Heath Slater is here. What a treat. He says he's only here to let every see what happened last week, where he beat Barreta. He shows it about seven times on the TitanTron. Shortly after his last showing, Derrick Bateman interrupts. He "accidentally" calls him Skinner and tells him he didn't even know he had a finisher. He makes fun of his losing streak.

Slater claims he's the real deal. He runs down his accomplishments and says he's about to cause damage everywhere. Bateman says he's compiled a list of the damage Slater has caused over the years. Of course, this is a series of stills of Slater getting pinned, or, in the case of the final one, Hornswaggle defeating him in an over-the-top rope challenge. Slater drops his mic and shoves Bateman and they start brawling. Bateman dropkicks Slater out of the ring. Bateman then mocks him.

Here comes Maxine. She and Bateman kiss.

Match #2 - Maxine (Tampa, Fla.) vs. Alicia Fox (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.)

Johnny Curtis almost immediately comes out and his distraction allows Fox to roll Maxine up and gain the victory.

Winner via pinfall: Maxine

Match #3 - Alex Riley (Washington, DC) & Percy Watson (Miami, Fla.) vs. Titus O'Neil (Tampa, Fla.) & Darren Young (Miami, Fla.)

Watson hits a slingshot crossbody onto Young.

We're back and Watson is still in control of Young. Young ends up on the apron and Watson hits a nice dropkick that sends Young to the outside. Watson goes to follow up but gets caught and Young hits him with a side suplex on the apron. Ouch. This allows Young and O'Neil to take the match over.

Watson tries to fire up, but Young takes him out by the knee and keeps him isolated. Finally Watson gets going against O'Neil and is able to tag in Riley, who comes in on fire against Young. Big spinebuster connects for Riley. He lines Young up and hits the implant DDT but O'Neil saves the match for his team and breaks it up. Watson tosses O'Neil to the outside and goes to follow up but gets run into the apron. Riley and Young go at it. Riley eats a big boot but hits a flapjack. But in the action, O'Neil tagged himself in. He comes in from behind and is able to hit the Clash of the Titus and that is all she wrote.

Winners via pinfall: Titus O'Neil & Darren Young
