Impact: Hardy, Roode meet again for TNA world title
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on Impact Wrestling: After Bobby Roode took the low road out in his Genesis match with Jeff Hardy, Sting books the two in a rematch for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in the show's main event. Also, in the wake of more shenanigans, Sting also sets up a rematch between Kurt Angle and James Storm, with the winner becoming the No. 1 contender for the title.

Tonight's taped show emanates from the Impact Zone in Orlando, Fla. "The Professor" Mike Tenay and The Tazz are our hosts.

The champ is here. Bobby Roode is out to start the show. He says, after Sunday's pay-per-view, he is the most dominant world champion in the history of Impact Wrestling. He says he is simply the greatest. He talks about his match with Jeff Hardy and tells him on the biggest night, Hardy failed. The crowd chants for Hardy and Roode says he wants him, too. He asks Hardy to come down, accept his defeat and shake the hand of the world champion.

Instead, he gets Sting, wearing a shirt that makes it seem like he just came from the local sailing club. He says what Roode did Sunday, kicking the referee low to get disqualified, was stupid. He tells Roode he'll be defending the world championship tonight against Hardy. Ta ta.

Match #1 - Robbie E (Seaside Heights, NJ) & Robbie T (Wales) vs. Crimson (Brooklyn, NY) & Matt Morgan (Fairfield, Conn.)

E gets the rapid fire elbows from Morgan and then a big avalanche. Crimson hits E with an exploder suplex, Morgan gives T the Carbon Footprint and then they hit the double team slam on E and that is it. Total squash.

Winners via pinfall: Matt Morgan & Crimson

After the match they are attached by Samoa Joe and Magnus. They beat down the champs.

Hey, it's Eric Bischoff, and he is making his way down to the ring. He talks about his son Garett wrestling and what he's done, being all ruthless and such. He says Garett won't have any friends in this business and encourages him to give up his dreams, because they will get him hurt.

That brings Garett out. He says he hasn't burned all his bridges and he does have friends. He tells his dad he isn't going anywhere. He says Eric tried to get rid of him, but he came back. He said he can send Gunner after him again and again and he'll keep coming back. He tells dad he has a new trainer and he'll be shocked to find out who he is. Garett hands Eric his mic and goes to walk away, but Eric grabs him. Garett runs him into the corner by his collar and tells him to never put his hands on him again.

Match #2 - Winter (England) vs. ODB (Minneapolis, Minn.)

ODB knocks Winter down with her breasts. I can't believe I just wrote that sentence. As a young aspiring journalist back in the day, I had always hoped I could write that exact sentence. I guess it's time to get out of the game now. My life has peaked.

Anyway, after the knock down, ODB misses a Bronco Buster and Winter takes over. ODB, though, fires up with some more breast-related offense and then hits the Bronco Buster. ODB lines Winter up, grabs her for the fallaway slam. Angelina Love gets in the ring, so Eric Young comes in and grabs her for an airplane spin. Both he and Love go stumbling after that. Winter tries to attack ODB from behind, but she hits her with a back elbow and then a TKO for the pin.

Winner via pinfall: ODB

AJ Styles is out. He wants answers from Kazarian after his former buddy turned on him last week. So here comes Kazarian. Maybe he was mad that his wife was getting more TV time than he was, so he had to turn heel. I guess we'll find out here shortly. Styles wants answers from Kazarian. Kazarian says he can't tell Styles why, but then a voice, Christopher Daniels, says, "I can!"

So here comes Daniels. He says Kazarian sees Styles as a lost cause, since Styles has lost match after match. So he wanted to be with a winner like Daniels. He says Styles is a piece of crap and sends Kazarian away. Daniels starts to walk away when Styles just fires his mic right into Daniels' back and attacks him. Kazarian pulls Daniels to safety.

James Storm is out. He is not happy. He calls out Kurt Angle because he has something he wants to say to his face. Angle goes to talk and Storm just knocks the mic out of his hand and tells him he's going to listen to what he has to say. He tells Angle to go put his gear on so he can kick his teeth down his throat. Angle tells Storm there's no way in hell Storm is getting a rematch, because he is on his way to bigger and better things, and that's the world championship.

But here comes Sailing Club Steve, otherwise known as Sting, and he says Angle and Storm will have a rubber match tonight with the winner of their match facing the winner of the Hardy/Roode match. Angle protests, saying he doesn't have his gear, but Sting says he better get to the back and get ready because the bell is going to ring right after this commercial break.

Match #3 - James Storm (Leiper's Fork, Tenn.) vs. Kurt Angle (Pittsburgh, Pa.)

Angle's music plays but he's nowhere to be found, so Earl Hebner calls for the bell and starts counting. Here comes Angle running down the ramp, still pulling up the straps on his signet. He makes it in at nine.

Storm immediately goes on the offensive. They end up on the outside and Angle kicks Storm in the stomach and runs him into the steps and takes over. They end up back on the outside and Angle suplexes Storm on the floor.

Angle still in control. Storm tries to get going with some strikes, but Angle quickly quells that rebellion. They hit the ropes and both men go for a crossbody and now both are down. They get up and Storm gets moving. He his the backcracker for a near fall. Now Storm puts Angle in his own move, the ankle lock. Angle thinks about tapping before rolling out of it and shoving Storm into the corner. He grabs Storm and hits him with an Angle Slam for two. Angle mounts Storm and starts delivering punch after punch, barely beating the count of five.

He goes to the outside and grabs Storm's beer bottle. He takes a drink of it. He goes in the ring and Hebner takes the bottle away. When Hebner's not looking, Angle spits it in Storm's face and kicks him in the head, but Storm kicks out at two. Storm, though, out of nowhere hits the Codebreaker and hits the reeling Angle with the Last Call Superkick and that's it.

Winner via pinfall: James Storm

Match #4 - TNA World Heavyweight Championship - (c) Bobby Roode (Toronto, Ontario) vs. Jeff Hardy (Cameron, NC)

They brawl on the outside for several minutes. They both finally end up in the ring and the bell finally rings to officially start the match.

Hardy is all over Roode. He clotheslines him to the floor.

We're back and Hardy crashes and burns on the floor. Roode gets back in the ring while referee Brian Hebner makes it to nine on the count before Hardy finally gets back in the ring. Hardy gets rolling after getting beat down with a jawbreaker and a side Russian leg sweep for two. He hits a back elbow and then the Whisper in the Wind for two.

Hardy goes for the Twist of Fate but Roode pushes him off the ropes and hits the Double R Spinebuster. He grabs Hardy and goes for the Perfect Plex but Hardy counters into the Twist of Fate. He goes to the top and goes for the Swanton Bomb but misses. Roode goes for an immediate cover but Hardy kicks out at two.

Roode goes to the second turnbuckle, but Hardy kicks him as he comes down and hits another Twist of Fate. He removes his short and goes to the top and hits the Swanton this time. He goes for the cover but Hebner is pulled out of the ring by Bully Ray. Ray then hits a big boot on Hebner. Hardy takes out Ray and gets back in the ring, but Roode has rolled out on the other side. Then Hardy's music just plays. Uh, what? And we fade to black.
