WWE NXT: Feud between O'Neil, Young boils over
MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling
Tonight on WWE NXT: It's been two weeks since we last saw Titus O'Neil after a vicious beatdown at the hands of Darren Young. He returns tonight and he's got some serious beef as the two meet face-to-face in tonight's final segment, one that ends in a wild brawl. Elsewhere, Johnny Curtis and Maxine prepare for their wedding next week by competing in singles action. Should be a good one!
And we are TAPED! from Laredo, Texas. Matt Striker and William Regal are our commentators and Striker is our host. This show is presented in WWEHD (TV-PG,V).
Striker is in the ring and this week, he's brought Season 3 Pro Alicia Fox back to the program. Striker asks her about her rookie from that season, Maxine. Before she can spit out five words, Maxine makes her way out. She says Fox was no use to her in Season 3 and even less now. Striker tries to interject and Maxine says, "Shove it, Seacreast!" They get around to trying to figure out who's screwing who. Maxine says she always ends up on her feet, Fox says she hears she likes being on her back and Maxine says she prefers being on top. They start brawling and Striker calls for a referee.
Match #1 - Alicia Fox (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) vs. Maxine (Tampa, Fla.)
Fox spanks Maxine but then gets thrown halfway across the ring by her hair. Reminder: Do not spank Maxine. Maxine floats over in the corner and locks in a rear chin lock. She gives that up and rolls Fox up, but Fox reverses and gets the pin.
Winner via pinfall: Alicia Fox
Match #2 - Trent Barreta (Mount Sinai, NY) vs. Tyler Reks (Parts Unknown)
Barreta hits a flip dive that takes out both Reks and Curt Hawkins. That'll surely upset Hawkins. He gets back in the ring but Reks takes over with a big boot after Hawkins provides a momentary distraction. Reks pounding on Barreta. Barreta tries for a moonsault, but Reks moves out of the way. He goes for the Burning Hammer, but Barreta slides out and grabs a back slide and the shoulders go down for three.
Winner via pinfall: Treat Barreta
Reks and Hawkins double team Barreta until Yoshi Tatsu makes the save and cleans house.
Justin Gabriel and Derrick Bateman are chatting backstage about the email Bateman sent Smackdown GM Theodore Long. Bateman is befuddled. He looks though his phone and says he never sent the email. He screams out "CURRRRRRTIS!'
Match #3 - Jimmy & Jey Uso (San Francisco, Calif.) vs. JTG (Brooklyn, NY) & Tyson Kidd (Calgary, Alberta)
Jimmy fires up on JTG, hitting the Samoan drop and the running butt bomb. Kidd breaks up the pin and knocks Jey off the apron. He tries to hit a flying crossbody but Jey o-lays him into the barricade. JTG goes to the top and comes down but runs right into a superkick and that is all she wrote.
Winners via pinfall: Jimmy & Jey Uso
Match #4 - Alex Riley (Washington, DC) vs. Johnny Curtis (Westbrook, Maine)
Curtis in control in the early-going. Riley hits a kick and goes to hit the ropes but Maxine feigns jumping up on the them. This brief distraction allows Curtis to grab Riley and hit a brainbuster and that is it.
Winner via pinfall: Johnny Curtis
Bateman comes out and tells Curtis that next week, "this ends." Whatever that means.
Darren Young makes his way to the ring. He says he's the most dominant individual on NXT. He rattles off who he's beaten and says this is why he is. He says he heard Titus O'Neil was here tonight, but he doesn't think he's going to come out because he's unbreakable and unbeaten. Of course, it takes O'Neil about five seconds to come out after this.
Young says O'Neil is a loser just like all the people here in Laredo, Texas. He says he's here to address how this all started. He notes somewhere along the line, with all the challenges (that Striker has given up on, he says) and Redemption Points, those went away. He said tonight they should handle it man-to-man tonight. Young brushes him off and tells him to shove it. He says NXT was a lot better when O'Neil was at home when he was apologizing to his stupid kids.
O'Neil takes umbrage to this and Young insults O'Neil's kids again. He says Young can call the fans losers all he wants, but he can't stand in the ring and talk about his kids without getting the hell beat out of him. Young calls O'Neil's kids quitters and O'Neil attacks him. They brawl and referees come try to break it up to no avail. Striker grabs the mic and says this will end next week when the two will meet in a no disqualification match.
