Impact: Roode, Styles go to OT, a Jarrett gets fired
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on Impact Wrestling: At Final Resolution on Sunday, the fans chanted "five more minutes" after Bobby Roode and AJ Styles went to a draw in their 30-minute iron man match. They get their wish here as the two head back to the ring to get a decisive winner.

Tonight's taped show emanates from the Impact Zone in Orlando, Fla. "The Professor" Mike Tenay and The Tazz are our hosts.

Match #1 - Five Minute Overtime Period for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship - (c) Bobby Roode (Toronto, Ontario) vs. AJ Styles (Gainesville, Ga.)

This is a continuation of Sunday's Final Resolution pay-per-view extravaganza and is sudden death.

Roode immediately tries to take a walk, but Styles quickly goes after him and brings him back into the ring. Styles working quickly and going for pitfalls. Two minutes in, Roode calls time and cowers, but scoops Styles up and drops him with a takedown as he charges. It doesn't deter Styles, though, as he takes over until Roode kicks him right in the bad knee. He tries to post him but Styles pushes him. Styles goes for a slingshot to the outside but Roode stops him on the apron and brings him down by the knee.

Roode goes to work on the knee with 100 seconds left. Styles, though, fires up and hits the jumping reverse DDT with a minute left. He goes for the cover but Roode gets his hand on the bottom rope. With 30 seconds left, Roode pokes Styles in the eye. Roode starts running at that point, but Styles cuts him off and hits the Pele as Roode leans through the ropes. He loads up for the 450 Splash but overshoots his target and the time runs out.

This match is a draw

The crowd chants for five more more minutes. Unlike Sunday, Sting's music hits and I don't have a good feeling for Roode. Sting says they can do this all night long.

Roode immediately clips the knee and goes for the single-leg crab. He locks it in and this is bad for Styles. He is really cranking it. Dead centre of the ring and Styles has no choice but to tap.

Winner via submission and STILL TNA World Heavyweight Champion: Bobby Roode

Match #2 - Wild Card Tag Team Tournament - Hernandez (Houston, Texas) & Robbie T (Swansea, Wales) vs. Abyss (Parts Unknown) & Scott Steiner (Detroit, Mich.)

Steiner throws both Hernandez and Terry. Then he hits the elbow/push-up combo on Hernandez. He wants a tag from Abyss but Abyss just looks at him. Steiner gives up and turns around into a clothesline from Terry. Now Hernandez starts choking Steiner with his shirt and referee Earl Hebner is either blind, stupid or both here because he completely misses this despite it being right in front of him.

Hernandez and Terry combine for some double teams and then, all of a sudden, Abyss gets the tag and comes in and flattens them both. Splashes for both of them and then a choke slam for Hernandez. Terry gets the Black Hole Slam and then Abyss tags in Steiner, who pins Terry.

Winners via pinfall: Scott Steiner & Abyss

Kurt Angle is out. He demands Sting come to the ring. Sting does and Angle says Sting is going to shut up and listen. He claims James Storm had a loaded boot during each of their matches. He says he could take Sting down right now and make him cry for his mommy. But he won't, because all he wants is his rematch with Storm.

Sting says Storm beat Angle fair and square, so it's onward and upward. Angle says Sting clearly likes Storm, so how about he goes to Storm's hometown and beat the crap out of everyone there. He throws out a few more threats and takes off.

Match #3 - Tony Nese (Ridge, NY) vs. Zema Ion (The Philippines)

Nese hits a big flip dive to the outside. Nese holds control but Ion takes over and actually pulls Nese up on a pin attempt. He hits a move and then does it again. So Ion pulls Nese near the corner and hits a 450 Splash and this time, he doesn't pull him up and gets the fall.

Winner via pinfall: Zema Ion

Match #4 - Jesse Neal (Orlando, Fla.) vs. Gunner (Atlanta, Ga.)

Gunner is all over Neal. Completely squashing him. He takes him to the outside where the referee tries to intervene. Gunner just shoves him away. He calls for the bell.

Winner via disqualification: Jesse Neal

After the match, the beatdown continues. Ric Flair knees Neal low, then Gunner delivers a DDT onto the exposed concrete. They bring out the stretcher for him.

Here comes Jeff Hardy to the squared circle. He says absolutely nothing of importance before Bully Ray interrupts, who actually has his own "Bully Ray" hat. He buries Hardy for using Twitter. He talks how they have a match against each other tonight. He says he's not Hardy's stepping stone, he's a freight train and Hardy is standing on his tracks. Bam.

Match #5 - Wild Card Tag Team Tournament - Robbie E (Seaside Heights, NJ) & Douglas Williams (England) vs. Samoa Joe (Isle of Samoa) & Magnus (England)

Joe with a back splash on Williams for two. He hits a power slam but Robbie tries to break up the pin but misses and hits his partner. Joe drills Robbie and Magnus hits an elbow from the second rope. Magnus stops Williams from hitting Joe from behind and this allows Joe to load Williams up for the Muscle Buster. That's a wrap.

Winners via pinfall: Samoa Joe & Magnus

Devon makes his way to the ring. He asks The Pope to come down so they can settle their situation. And Pope does make his way down. With Devon's twin sons. He says he will do anything to make sure his boys are safe. He notes how he's been there for them their entire lives, not Pope. He says he's training them now and he's going to bring them up the way he wants to. No disrespect, he tells Pope, but it's over starting now. He tells them he loves them and let's go.

Pope wants to speak, though. He says the boys want a cool dad. Someone who can be with the times, not afraid to move forward. He asks what the boys are supposed to learn from watching tapes of Devon and his brother from the bingo hall. He says Devon will never be as fly as The Pope and his sons know that. He tells Devon that the boys should've been his seed, but he and their mother are working on that.

At this point, Devon has heard enough and he starts beating on Pope. The twins get him away only to have Pope come up from behind and deliver a huge low blow. Now the twins are smiling. They each put on Pope sunglasses and pick Devon up for Pope to slap and punch him. The three raise each other's arm.

Match #6 - Traci Brooks (St. Mary's, Ontario) vs. Madison Rayne (Seattle, Wash.)

Traci attacks Madison on the ramp and brings her back to the ring, but Madison takes over and hits a neckbreaker on the middle rope that sends Traci to the floor. Back in the ring, Madison attempts to work her over in the corner but Traci fires up. Again, that doesn't last as Madison hits a kick to the head that drops Brooks. She is down and out.

Winner via pinfall: Madison Rayne

Backstage, Sting follows up on Sunday's stipulation and fires not just one Jarrett, but two, as both Jeff and Karen are gone.

Match #7 - Bully Ray (New York City) vs. Jeff Hardy (Cameron, NC)

Ray attacks Hardy right off the bell and here we go. He locks in a bear hug but Hardy elbows out. He hits the ropes but Ray sends him into orbit with a back drop. Ray with a slam and he goes for a Vader Bomb but Hardy rolls out of the way.

The two slug it out before Hardy hits some clotheslines that send Ray down. Hardy goes for a Twist of Fate but Ray evades it. He goes for a Bubba Bomb but Hardy counters into a Twist of Fate for two.

Ray recovers fast and hits a side slam for two. He goes for a splash but misses. Hardy grabs him and hits the Twist again and that does it.

Winner via pinfall: Jeff Hardy
