Impact: Who ambushed James Storm?
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on Impact Wrestling: Last week, James Storm was brutally attacked backstage. Now he's on the rampage to try to find who did it, even looking at fellow Fortune member AJ Styles, before finding out who did. Elsewhere, the tag team titles are on the line as Mexican America defends against Matt Morgan and Crimson.

Tonight's taped show emanates from the Impact Zone in Orlando, Fla. "The Professor" Mike Tenay and The Tazz are our hosts.

The TNA World Heavyweight Champion is here. Bobby Roode is out to start the show. He confirms he is the leader of the selfish generation and tells the rest of Fortune they are in his shadow.

This brings out James Storm. He says he's not going to stand in the shadow of a jackass and a dumbass, of which Roode is both. He wants an explanation from Roode for attacking him backstage last week. He starts walking to the ring but security cuts him off. Roode denies doing anything last week. Storm says he's going to find out who did it and Roode is guilty by association, so he's going to kick his rear anyway.

Security drags Storm to the back and AJ Styles comes up from behind and attacks Roode. Now security comes flying back to grab Styles. They brawl. This is every TNA brawl ever.

Roode and Styles are still in the ring and Sting comes out. He says he's feeling extra crazy tonight. He says at Final Resolution, Roode will meet Styles in a 30 minute Iron Man Match.

The men leave the ring and Roode accosts Dixie Carter, who is at ringside. Styles comes up and Roode puts her in front of me. Then he shoves Dixie into Styles and attacks Styles from behind. He and Dixie go crashing to the floor. He beats on Styles a little bit and yells at Dixie before the agents and Sting come running down.

Sorensen is angry early. He lights Kash up with chops and then hits a flying crossbody for two. He brings in Kendrick who maintains the momentum and then Kash and Aries argue when Aries refuses to tag in. Kendrick hits a slingshot crossbody. But Aries comes through and hits Kendrick with his suicide dive. Now he tags himself in as Kash recovers. He goes for the cover but Kendrick kicks out.

Kendrick tries to fire up but Aries throws him into the post. He tags Kash and as he and Aries argue, Kendrick tags in Sorensen. They go back-and-forth and Kash tags Aries in by slapping him across the face. Aries gets in and then slaps Kash across the back and walks off. Kash snaps Sorensen's neck on the top rope and goes for the moonsault, but he misses. Sorensen grabs him and hits the rolling cutter and that does it.

Jeff Hardy is out. He says it's time for him to set his sights on the world title. That's when Karen Jarrett comes out. She says she was watching in the back and said someone needed to come down and put him in his place. She yells at him and gets up in his face. She tells him he needs to step up and be a man first, like her husband. She calls him ungrateful and disrespectful. It goes for a pretty good promo to one that is no good when Karen starts bringing up Hardy's wife and how she told him (allegedly) how he's no good in bed. Then she dares him to hit her.

She goes to slap him but he blocks it. Jeff Jarrett comes out but Hardy turns around before he can attack. Karen goes for a low blow but Hardy catches that. They go back-and-forth before Jarrett bails.

Morgan takes on both Anarquia and then Hernandez. Fallaway slam for Hernandez. Anarquia gets a corner clothesline, as does Anarquia. Choke slam on Anarquia but Hernandez breaks up the pin. They try to double team Morgan but he clotheslines them both.

Crimson finally comes in and dispatches of Hernandez. Crimson with an exploder suplex for Anarquia and Morgan follows it with the Carbon Footprint and that is it.

James Storm is out. He says he's not one of these guys who comes out here pretending to be tough. He's been in bar fights, been to jail and he whoops people every day of his life. He says since everyone is denying attacking him, he's going to blame everyone in the back for attacking him. Then he calls out AJ Styles.

Styles take offense that Storm thinks he did it. He notes he checked on him at the hospital, checked on him at home. He says Storm is so paranoid that he can't think straight. He says Styles has weaseled his way into two shots at Roode. Styles said he didn't make that decision. He says Storm is wrong on all accounts and he's done talking to him about it. He goes to leave but Storm pulls him back. Styles puts his finger in his face and Storm slaps it away. It looks like they're about to throw down when Kazarian comes down to try to mend fences.

He gets Styles to leave and Storm's music hits. He starts walking to the back as well when Kurt Angle comes from under the ring and attacks him on the ramp. He runs him into the stairs and then gives him an Angle Slam in the ring. He picks up the mic and says he's guilty as charged. He tells Storm to go home and tell his daughter that he's the one who gave daddy a concussion.
