ROH: The American Wolves back together
By MATT MACKINDER - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on Ring Of Honor, the American Wolves reunite to battle the House of Truth in the main event, while another team makes its return to ROH.

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness are ringside from the Davis Arena in Louisville, Ky., and we get right to the ring.

Match #1 The Bravado Brothers (Harlem & Lancelot) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson)

The Bucks have a new, arrogant attitude and Kelly attributes that to their time in the "entertainment" indistry. He asks Nigel if he knows what that's all about and Nigel sidesteps in responding.

It's so refreshing to see two talented tag teams just getting down to wrestling. It looks like the Bravados are finally getting a semi-push and a well-deserved one at that. I guess they're faces now, too.

The Bucks finish off Lancelot with More Bang For Your Buck - a rolling drop from the shoulders in the corner, a 450 splash and then a moonsault. Sweet combo here.

Winners via pinfall: The Young Bucks

Kelly has ROH World tag team champions Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin for an interview and Final Battle hype job against the Briscoe Brothers. The All Night Express (Rhett Titus and Kenny King) interrupt and King renames Haas and Benjmain "Donald and Daffy" because they're just a couple of ducks. Huh? Basically, I think what the ANX wants is a title match.

A recap of the past two years of Kevin Steen's ROH career - from turning on El Generico at Final Battle 2009 to his 2011 lawsuit against ROH - is next. Great stuff here. Can't wait to see the Montreal kid back in ROH.

Jay Lethal and Mike Bennett go back and forth on their World TV title match from a few weeks back. Bennett wants a rematch with "Brutal" Bob Evans as ref. Yeah, right.

Steve Corino interrupts Kelly and McGuinness and wants five minutes to chat with Jim Cornette. Not tonight. Maybe next week, eh?

Match #2 The American Wolves (ROH World champion Davey Richards & "Die Hard" Eddie Edwards) vs. The House of Truth (Roderick Strong & "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin) w/ Truth Martini

The show is barely 30 minutes old, so with commercials and intros, this should be a match of decent length. Elgin still looks raw and not sure he's ready for prime time. Often looks like he's remembering certain moves in the ring and gets into proper position.

Edwards and Roddy slug it out on the floor, while Elgin hits two sit-out power bombs on Davey in the ring. Truth Martini has referee Todd Sinclair tied up. Eddie comes into the ring and takes out Elgin with a sleeper variation. He slips out of the ring, Davey crawls over and gets the pin.

Winners via pinfall: The American Wolves

I was hoping for more tension between the Wolves, but still was a decent match, Elgin notwithstanding.

WEEKLY DISCLAIMER: Great show again tonight! ROH is wrestling. I mean, WRESTLING. They don't need the word "entertainment" in the name of the company to let you know what it's supposed to do for you. It just happens naturally. And yes, I say this every week.

'Til next week, folks.
