Impact: Storm ambushed, goes for rematch
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling

Tonight on Impact Wrestling: Last week, Bobby Roode turned on his long-time tag partner James Storm to win the world title. This week, Sting books them in a rematch for the title, but someone gets to Storm before the match. Elsewhere, AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels meet once again.

Tonight's taped show emanates from Macon, Ga. "The Professor" Mike Tenay and The Tazz are our hosts.

The new TNA World Heavyweight Champion is here. That's right, Bobby Roode is out to start the show and the fans are not happy. He says doing the right thing gets you nowhere these days. It's a dog eat dog world and he ate James Storm for lunch last week. He says he came to the realization that after 13 years, the opportunities he had at Bound For Glory and last week only come along so often, so he made sure to make the most of it.

Now we see Storm on the ramp and he's surrounded by security. He beats them up and hits the ring. Roode bails. Sting's music hits now and our authority figure Sting comes out. He says tonight, there will be a world title rematch.

Match #1 - The Pope (Harlem, NY) vs. Crimson (Brooklyn, NY)

Pope gets going early with a nice DDT, planting Crimson. He follows with a fist drop from the second turnbuckle. All Pope early. He goes to the second turnbuckle again but Crimson pops up, catches him in the air and hits the Red Sky and that is all she wrote.

Winner via pinfall: Crimson

Match #2 - Gunner (Atlanta, Ga.) vs. Garrett Bischoff (Cody, Wy.)

Gunner is gloating early to Ric Flair after badmouthing Bischoff and then he hits two arm drags and a hip toss. He follows that with a back drop and sends Gunner off the ropes again, but he bails to the outside to regroup. As he does, Flair hits the ring and shoves the referee and that's it.

Winner via disqualification: Garrett Bischoff

Everyone is stunned and now Sting can rewrite Eric Bischoff's contract per the pre-match stipulation.

Security goes to find Storm only to see him unconscious, bleeding and with glass all around him.

Match #3 - Jesse Sorensen (Katy, Texas) vs. Zema Ion (The Philippines)

Sorensen hits a big crossbody to the outside but in the ring, Ion takes over with a big facebuster. He goes for the 450 but Sorensen moves, picks him up and hits a rolling cutter and that's it.

Winner via pinfall: Jesse Sorensen

Kid Kash comes out and gets in his face after the match. In his hand is a contract for an X Division title match, a triple threat match between he, Austin Aries and Sorensen. Sorensen signs the contract. Then Aries and Kash beat him up.

Match #4 - TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship - (c) Gail Kim (Toronto, Ontario) & Madison Rayne (Seattle, Wash) vs. Velvet Sky (The Big Apple) & Mickie James (Richmond, Va.)

After a brief period of control, Velvet and Mickie lose it. Kim and Rayne in control of Mickie now. Front headlock for Kim. Mickie punches out and goes for a tag, but Kim pulls her back by her hair. Kim goes for a short clothesline but Mickie ducks it, hits a neckbreaker and brings in Velvet.

She hits a faceplate and a side slam but Rayne breaks up the pin. Velvet, though, hits her with a jawbreaker and Mickie comes off the top with a Thesz press. Velvet goes for her finish on Kim, but Karen Jarrett jumps on the apron and takes the ref. Rayne goes to hit Velvet but eats her finish, but this allows Kim to jump back in and hit Eat Defeat and that is enough to do it.

Winners via pinfall and STILL TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions: Gail Kim & Madison Rayne

Match #5 - Robbie E (Seaside Heights, NJ) & Robbie T (Cardiff, Wales) vs. Eric Young (Nashville, Tenn.) & Ronnie (New Jersey)

Robbie T puts Young into complete orbit with a backdrop early. Now Robbie E comes in and he's ready to go after chickening out earlier. They combine to isolate Young and taunt Ronnie at the same time. Big delayed vertical suplex for Robbie T and Young is hurting. Belly-to-belly suplex hits for Young, though and he crawls to his corner and tags Ronnie against Robbie E.

Clothesline for Ronnie and he follows with a body slam. Young comes off the top with a big elbow drop and Ronnie hits a splash and that does it.

Winners via pinfall: Ronnie & Eric Young

Match #6 - Christopher Daniels (Los Angeles, Calif.) vs. AJ Styles (Gainesville, Ga.)

Big knee-drop lands for Styles. He goes to springboard but Daniels knocks him down and goes for a quick pin a la their match in Huntsville, but Styles kicks out. Body scissors for Daniels but Styles elbows out. Daniels goes for a roll-up and puts his feet on the ropes but Styles kicks out. Now Styles gets going. He hits a springback DDT off the middle rope and then a thundering clothesline. Punches, kicks and a corner clothesline for Styles. He follows with the springboard forearm.

Daniels gets out of the Styles Clash but instead eats the Pele. He goes for the cover but Daniels gets his foot on the rope barely. Daniels rolls to the outside and Styles tries to jump on him but Daniels catches him and rams him into the rail. He throws Styles back in the ring and grabs a screwdriver from under the ring. He goes to use it but Rob Van Dam pulls it out of his hand. Daniels walks right into a backbreaker and then the Styles Clash.

Winner via pinfall: AJ Styles

Match #7 - Jeff Jarrett (Hendersonville, Tenn.), Scott Steiner (Detroit, Mich.) & Bully Ray (New York City) vs. Mr. Anderson (Green Bay, Wisc.), Jeff Hardy (Cameron, NC) & Abyss (Parts Unknown)

Immortal soundly works over Hardy. Steiner hits his elbow drop/pushups and a fallaway slam. He brings in Ray for a leg scissors and then Jarrett, but it's against Jarrett that Hardy hits Whisper in the Wind. Both men down now. Both men tag. Abyss in against all of Immortal. Jarrett comes up from behind and goes for the Stroke but Abyss basically laughs and hits him with the Shock Treatment.

Ray clotheslines Abyss out and Hardy hits Ray with the Twist of Fate and the Swanton. It's finishers galore now out of everybody. It ends with Abyss hitting the Black Hole Slam on Steiner and that's it.

Winners via pinfall: Abyss, Mr. Anderson & Jeff Hardy

Match #8 - TNA World Heavyweight Championship - (c) Bobby Roode (Toronto, Ontario) vs. James Storm (Leiper's Fork, Tenn.)

After having his music play once, Storm comes to the ring staggering and completely bloody. He hits the ring and takes Roode down and pounds away. Big back drop for Storm and then he just stops dead in his tracks and crumples to the canvas. The doctor comes out and says they need to get him to the hospital. Roode stands over him and helps the referee get Storm to his feet. He asks the referee if the match is over. He says no, so Roode rolls the lifeless Storm up.

Winner via pinfall and STILL TNA World Heavyweight Champion: Bobby Roode

Fortune comes out and runs Roode off. Styles is particularly upset and tells Roode to come down and get some. Instead, he says, at Turning Point, he wants Roode. Sting, who came down to check on Storm, says he's got it.
